I think it’s an affordable option at $1 a player. However, there are 3 issues I ran into: 1. One character’s objectives had to do with a player that wasn’t in a character pack I bought. So his objectives were confusing and he wasn’t able to complete them 2. More guidance throughout the game and specific questions for each player to ask would be helpful in facilitating the game. Not a whole script, but just a few questions per player. 3. The host should be able to vote since they don’t see the murderer until the end. They also aren’t able to vote on “best” awards. Our voting never worked and so we had to vote my mouth. Overall I’d play again, but the game would benefit from some minor improvements! ### 3/5 — Great concept, app needs improvement *2021-11-12* We had a lot of fun playing the game, and exploring the characters and plot twists. The game felt a little short and the app itself needs some improvement. The rounds would not open at the same time, so not everyone had the information they needed. It would also be more helpful if the app had a notification each time a round opened or the host received an update. ### 2/5 — Enjoyable *2021-11-12, version 3.1* Though it was enjoyable, the app needs to have more prompts for switching of rounds and for the person who dies. There were no indications of when to switch rounds and of who dies. ### 4/5 — Super Fun-Will Play Again *2020-04-10* I loved this app! I found it on tiktok, and decided it would be awesome to host a virtual party due to COVID-19. We hosted a party with the Misty Isle theme. The app made hosting super easy and hassle free. I wish I had read the theme overview to my party during the introduction so they had better context and background information. They were all feeling a bit confused and I was confused as well because I did not know what each player knew and did not know. Everything went smoothly, but there was some confusion about when the victim was supposed to die and when the murderer was supposed to come forward. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was because the app did not calculate the votes correctly and the “winners” were not accurate based on the votes, so I had to have everyone text me their vote. I also would have liked to vote as a host, because I did not know who the murderer was until the conclusion, but I did not have a voting button. I will be downloading more packs, and I am eager to try to host an “in person” murder mystery! Thanks for making this awesome app. ### 2/5 — Didn’t get what I paid for *2020-01-03* So I just downloaded this app today, my friend suggested it and said we could all play together whenever. Since none of us had a theme pack I purchased Murder and all that Jazz. Since it was the cheapest I figured if we liked it that there would be a possibility of getting another in the future. But when I went to host a party it told me I haven’t purchased a theme. I went to my in-app purchased to see i it didn’t go through and it did. I hope I will receive it soon so I can update this review. Paid $10.99 for a theme (which definitely came out). It says I haven’t bought any. Giving it the benefit of the doubt, I tried everything before writing this. I closed and reopened it, uninstalled and reinstalled, waited 3 days and still nothing. I will be getting my money back. ### 1/5 — Dismal *2021-06-12, version 3.1* We played this with a group of people. Shockingly little dialogue to actually make this game enjoyable. Not worth any money at all. ### 1/5 — Not made for virtual, online, teams, zoom, FaceTime. *2021-05-07* We just finished our party. How do I get my money back? This was not made for virtual party like is advertised. There was no way to talk to people privately. We should have been able to see our part a couple days early so we could practice our characters secrets and objectives rather than trying to figure it out during. As the host it was not clear on how to take the party to the next step. At the end I didn’t get to bite on anything as the host and then when I clicked on results it only gave me an error message of “pull to refresh” “no results”. My guest said they voted on best dressed, best character and we could not get any results. Out of 5 stars this was negative 1. I will be leaving a review to warn others but would like my money back please! ### 1/5 — Rubbish *2021-03-12, version 3.1* Rubbish not worth the money only really works well if you’re all in a group together not worth it ### 1/5 — Dreadful waste of money *2020-12-31, version 3.1* This is a total con! V glitchy and difficult to log in. No customer service. The game lasted about 25 minutes, total rubbish, no content. Literally the worst app ever downloaded. Do NoT buy. I think it has been forgotten by its creators but somehow is still allowed on AppStore. This was an evening ruined ### 1/5 — This is NOT a free app *2020-12-01* Technically, I suppose you can say it’s “free” but you cannot play without purchasing a theme. I hear they previously offered one free theme, but now no longer do that - hence making this app worthless unless your ready to drop some cash. I love Murder Mystery parties, but am unwilling to pay until I know what I am buying. Heck, even some of the most reputable MM companies offer a free game so you get an idea of the gameplay and quality of story. You should either make this a paid app with one free theme, or make it abundantly clear that this front-end is no good without buying themes. Really disappointed. ### 1/5 — Rip off *2020-06-28, version 3.1* You buy the theme but the PDFs cost another $20. We did it over Zoom and it worked really well with all my friends getting into it and dressing up. A different evening and great fun. Would probably be a bit better in person as sidling up to people etc a bit difficult on Zoom! But all I all a good fun experience. ### 5/5 — Best zoom party ever! *2021-01-11* I’ve actually never played a murder mystery before and wanted to bring one virtually for my team’s holiday party and after extensive research I landed on this app because it seemed so much more accessible and easy to use than these other $60-$70 mysteries. My coworkers and I had a blast! We played with all 21 characters on zoom. We played for just over an hour but you can easily play for 2-3 hours depending on how much time you have and want to devote to each round. The app is easy to follow and I loved the voting feature. Another reason I rated this game 5 startle was their live chat support, I needed help more than once and or had questions about how to play and they answered me within minutes! I would def buy another game and recommend this app. One thing that could be improved is the instructions both for host/guest as the host doesn’t see the same thing as the guest sees and if you never played a murder mystery before you aren’t exactly sure of how and when to go to the next round, etc. But otherwise a great app and so affordable! ### 5/5 — SO FUN *2020-11-15* Used this app to host a murder mystery party for my 28th birthday and it was an absolute blast! We chose the Copper Creek theme and went all out with Wild West decorations and costumes, and the app did not disappoint when it came to the storyline and characters. Definitely will try the other themes in the future.
