Very frustrating. Should be a way to add those items and be reviewed to eventually see if compliant or not. Bar codes seem to have multiple items which becomes overwhelming while in the store. ### 3/5 — Not good *2024-04-09, version 1.3.8* Most this say “item not found” it glitches and closes a lot, and it has stayed just freezing when I take a picture and I have to close out and go back in. It is helpful to scan barcodes to see if foods are approved or not without having to read the ingredient label. The problem I have found is the app saying “not approved” when in fact the ingredients label confirms it is an approved food. There are way too many scans I have done on foods that aren’t in this data base-including name brand foods. Sometimes it takes the camera a while to capture the barcode, which is frustrating.the app isn’t esthetically pleasing; it’s design is basic. If I had spent more than $3 on it I would be pretty mad. ### 2/5 — Don't waste your money *2023-01-08, version 1.3.8* For a free app, this would be great. The barcode reader often either didn't recognize foods or gave me a completely different food than what I scanned and said it wasn't whole 30 compatible when it in fact was. The ingredient search also didn't include almost every ingredient I was looking for, such as chia seed. Those were the two big reasons I downloaded it and neither measured up. ### 1/5 — Knock off waste of money. *2022-12-29, version 1.3.8* The barcode scanner doesn’t recognize any foods and will instantly say ‘approved’ and then ‘not found’ which is confusing. In ‘single ingredients’ section it couldn’t find steak, or potatoes!? Two simple ingredients this app can’t find. Not good way to log food, no good way to find out if foods accepted or not. Go to the real whole 30 site NOT this knock off. ### 1/5 — Not correct *2022-10-20, version 1.3.8* I scanned Coco Aminos (that has Whole 30 approved on bottle) and it stated it was not approved. So I don’t think your scanner is accurate. ### 1/5 — Don’t trust it. *2022-08-25, version 1.3.8* I just got this app. The first 2 things I looked up were inaccurate. A simple yes doesn’t cut it. Some types of mustard are not compliant, and some are, depending on ingredients. Same w fish sauce. It’s an important distinction. I probably won’t use this app much except for maybe a cross reference. The search identifier doesn’t do much better, the app database doesn’t even have simple, common ingredients. In the drop down menu there is a feedback section… which doesn’t open. They have all ingredients that are whole 30 approved or not approved, which is great for a quick look up while you are in the store! Also if there is something you come across that isn’t on there which is rare, you can tell them and they will add it! Also has a daily tip/ motivation and a countdown on how many days you have left. Thank you for this app. I haven’t found any other app that compares. Just the right information too! No extra meaningless info. I like how simple it is ### 5/5 — Whole 30 has changed my life and this app has simplified the change! *2020-09-10* When I started Whole 30 I was a little frustrated with having to constantly check Google for approved ingredients. My Whole 30 partner found this app and POOF problem solved. This app changed everything. With a simple search or a scan I immediately know if a product is compliant. So easy! I also love the grocery list feature. I have completely stopped forgetting things when I go to the store (I also list other non Whole 30 products on there like garbage bags or whatever). It’s even made shopping with the kiddos easier! The kids love being in charge of the phone while we shop so they can search, scan, and delete items once the item has been put in the cart. Thanks again! ### 5/5 — Good App - Lame Daily Encouragement *2018-07-26* First of all, let me be clear, we should not find our sole encouragement during Whole30 from a phone app. Regardless, it should have a little more thought and time put it into it then several days of practically the same saying reworded. Use facts about what the body is/should be experiencing and tell the user these things. Then round it out with genuine encouragement. As for the ingredient search and the package finder, they are great qualities of the app. I've had nothing but success with either of those things.
