But there is just one tiny problem. I cannot get past the battle with Old Man Marvin, The Cat that throws leaves, and the bred cat. It’s so hard and I can’t get past it but this game is super fun and adorable overall but I had to delete this and download something else. If your looking for something cute, fun, and offline game, I recommend cat castle because it’s soo cute and fun! I think a way you could really improve the difficulty without making the game overly easy is by letting you still get the cats at the end of a level by replaying the level. A way to balance this out is to keep it so that you can’t auto complete a level with an action. That way you don’t just miss out on cats because you were unlucky or didn’t have the right action. I feel like I can’t complete this game without deleting it and retrying or spending money. Also, daily rewards would be awesome. Overall this game is awesome but it’s way to difficult for me to fully enjoy it. ### 4/5 — Great game too many misses *2021-09-06, version 1.0* I love this game sooo much the art style is so cute and so are the cats but I’ve been on the same level for a week because every time my cats attack they miss and I keep losing please fix it a lot of people have said this is a problem so I think you should try to fix this thanks ฅ^•ﻌ•^ฅ ### 3/5 — cute but hard and takes forever *2021-06-23, version 1.0* i love the graphics and storyline so much! each cat has their own personality and they’re all so cute, just a few issues 1. 25 videos for one coin (coins are how you get cats) while i understand it’s hard to earn money solely from ads and the mini justification in it explains a lot for us it’s still too much. 12 minutes for one coin is just depressing and takes forever 2. leveling up cats doesn’t improve much. i’ve had to level up a cat 3/4 times just to see some improvement with the fighting 3. maybe the cats can fight pokémon style? like if you choose to fight you can also choose which fight style. sometimes the throwing attacks take too long and miss more often than they should. ex: one time i had a cat throw a leaf 5 times and missed every time. 4. the fights are so hard for no reason. i’m stuck on 2-2, regardless of how leveled up my cats are or how many are fighting. i’ve restarted a few times and im still at a standstill, and i win by barely a half a heart during the fights 5. sometimes the cat im attacking is unclear or takes forever for the move to start. the cats move so slow and sometimes you have to attack a different cat than you originally choose which is sucky all in all, there’s only a few issues but i still love this game and will continue playing, i just hope to see some improvement ### 4/5 — Fun but hard *2021-02-18, version 1.0* So this game is great and fun and i would recommend it except for one thing, this is very hard one problem is that the cats in the back of your party have trouble attacking because they get stuck behind the other cats, then if you don’t put anyone in the back you will be defeated faster. The art may be great and the cats are adorable but I warn must warn you, you could get stuck on one of the fights ### 4/5 — Amazing game although.. *2021-02-03, version 1.0* This game is amazing, it’s fun, cute, and has a nice story! However there’s a few problems with it, for example I could be fighting and then I’m unable to do anything since the bottom bar disappeared and the cats are all staying still, not only that but sometimes I’m unsure of how much storage I have and when I don’t have enough and a cat wants to join my team I don’t have coins so I would go to the coin shop and, since I don’t have money, watch an ad and it’ll either give me an ad and tell me I skipped awhile later or say there’s no ad available and to come back later, and this did happen with the water cat so I’m currently trying to get a water cat by collecting coins from ads or finishing the fields level. But besides all of that the game is pretty good and fun just please try to fix these things. ### 4/5 — Uhh *2021-01-16, version 1.0* This game is cute nice and annoying because it is extremely hard especially getting coins it’s annoying and the amount of space for cats!? But the fighting thing is just annoying. Every single time I fight other cats my cats barely hits them. Most of the time my cats miss and they all lose. One thing that’s really annoying is when you accidentally press the flee button, there’s no “are you sure you want to flee?” So I end up losing that game because I accidentally pressed the flee button. The final problem I have is one time I was going against a opponent, who had 2 hearts. I had 6 (2 cats were ok the battle field), then the 1 cat blocked, or my cats missed EVERY SINGLE ATTACK, and the other team won. I’m conclusion it’s a really fun game and I like it a whole lot, just work on these problems if you can. I think that there should be like a guide on what acts might help you get a cat in battle, bc i cannot figure it out and i have tried everything. Also, cats on the opposing team should not be allowed to attack during my teams turns. They just end up blocking my moves and killing my cats before i even have a chance, even though the opposing team just had a turn. Tried multiple ways and strategies, and by the end I was crying. I was trying to play a game after a hard day but it turned out to be both frustrating and a disappointment. Would not recommend ### 1/5 — Where is my Stuff from my account!? *2022-01-31, version 1.0* Okay, I Haven’t played this game for a LONG time and I really missed playing the game. The ending was a blast! I had a really fun adventure at Wholesome Cats, so I decided To play this game to try get all the cats from the game (I even have a few 5 stars cats!) I put my email and my password as I got login in, my cats were not there, my fish, and my coins! All of them were gone. I only had 5 fish, 0 coin, and one cat!?- And I was beginning of the story AGAIN. I thought it was a misunderstanding so I logged out and tried again still NOTHING! I am so upset because it was so hard to get most of cats I have. So disappointed… please i want my things back! - A cat fan ### 1/5 — Glitchy af *2018-12-03, version 1.0* The whole point of this game is fighting... every single attack misses the opponent kitties or the attacks are negated/don’t even happen because of the opponent cats “cancelling” your attacks. On top of that, all of a sudden the game froze and wouldn’t let me do anything mid-fight. The cats just kept getting closer but no one was attacking after I clicked attack... Seems like this game wasn’t tested at all. These are major problems you’re having. Fix them. ### 2/5 — Nothing good about this game. *2024-06-15* This game is.. fun I guess. So first off, it’s quite difficult to earn coins. ALSO, the cats next level are 10x more powerful than mine. BUT the cats next world are 15x more powerful than mine?! The rounds also take such a long time because the attacks are blocked most the time. I wouldn’t even be on the ocean world if it wasn’t for acts. Honestly if this game got deleted or something I wouldn’t even care. The only thing I like about this game is the cute cats and the art. The art style is really cute! The cats get stuck behind each other or if two cats throw something at the same time they just bounce off of each other so no damage is done on either side. It’s kinda frustrating and very disappointing because it’s such a cute game. If you try to attack, there’s a chance the opponent cat will strike first, voiding your attack? It’s a shame the combat system is so poorly set up and explained, especially since this game, visually, is wonderful. I uninstalled after 10 minutes when the fighting just became awful and frustrating. Not to mention, you can earn ONE coin (the premium currency) after watching TWENTY-FIVE ads, which is excessive in my opinion. ### 3/5 — Fun, but incredibly annoying at times *2023-02-22, version 1.0* Although it can be fun at the beginning, it quickly escalates to annoying grinding and frustration over multiple misses in a row after almost winning, and it stops being much fun. I think this game is great! It’s cute, has a good story that's pretty long, and moves continuously as long as you’re able to pass levels. The fighting is a bit weird, I would like it better if the cats took turns attacking and then moving back to their spaces, so it’s not a bunch of cats scratching and pushing each other in a cramped space. It’s not super hard, especially if you have a cat with Think (they can tell what action would help the fight or automatically win) and mostly using actions and not fighting as much (especially on more end-game levels, nearly impossible to win with only fighting) Anyway, I definitely recommend it, especially if you like story games and/or cats. This game is five paws up! I love the gameplay, especially how it specifically says they’re playing when they battle so I don’t feel guilty. The cats I have right now are very cute and talkative. I love playing this game because it’s just simply…. Awesome! I love how each cat has a personality. Envelope was the cat I chose to keep because he was worried about me. Plus I accidentally clicked him when trying to decide whether to pick him or a cat with a piece of bread on his face. :) I’m a total cat lover, so this is the perfect game for me. It has a beautiful art style, hilarious voice lines and a cute story. It’s pretty short, but it can be pretty hard in some areas, and you can always restart the game, or set goals like collect every cat or get 3 stars on every level. I love this game, but there are a few annoying problems, and they are reflected in most of the reviews: if you get stuck you lose your turn, the opponents hardly miss, and you can get stuck with blocking attacks every turn. There are two more glitches as well, the one where it says it’s one cat’s turn and it commands another instead, and (this only happened once) when I pressed the move and nothing happened. I was still seeing the cats bob up and down, but no moves. Winning combat is incredibly satisfying though sometimes encounters are quite difficult and the mechanics of what attacks will ‘miss’ or not aren’t all the way clear (however that could just be an issue on my end). Leveling up is rewarding and the process of grinding isn’t even that tedious because of how lovely the game is. The only real criticism I have of Wholesome Cats is that, like I said earlier, some of the battle mechanics are confusing. I don’t mind the difficulty curve between areas but I wish there was more clarity to why attacks land vs when they don’t.
