Glitchy scrolling and notification (red dot) won’t go away even after deleting and redownloading. Kinda trashy but par for Topeka? ### 2/5 — Hate new app *2026-03-19* So many advertisements. Trying to clear the notification on the app and no matter where I go it still has a 1 showing I have a notification. Please fix this! ### 3/5 — Topeka *2026-03-07, version 5.0.1* It’s ok ### 3/5 — Notifications Blow-up *2026-01-24* This app use to NOT be annoying, but in the past month it has become too exaggerated with all of the notifications alerts. The alert sound you receive does get your attention, as it should ( when your volume is turned up ), however, whoever is controlling those notifications seems to be putting sooo much more topics and stories under this “ Notifications” worthy categories AND, I have gone into the settings and have turn off a couple of the options only leaving “Breaking News” as the category I want to be alerted for because my phone goes off far too often and I’m thinking something real important is happening when in fact, it really isn’t. One may become desensitized to their alert sound. You can check on certain things you want to be notified for like “Breaking News” or “Sports” and like I said, I only have “Breaking News” turned on, but I just received a notification and at the top of it it falls under “Trending”, one of the other categories. I don’t even have that notification topic turned on, so hopefully whoever’s responsible for these notifications can get this corrected. Thanks🙂 ### 3/5 — Weather *2025-03-20, version 4.0.16* Don’t like it talking to me- it won’t shut up even when exiting the app ### 2/5 — Not Reliable *2024-09-12* Since I don’t have cable, I use the app to catch previous news casts through Zeam. Some days it works, some days it doesn’t. Today, in trying to watch the 6 PM news, I was able to find previous newscasts, but the ability to pause them or fullscreen them did not exist. It existed yesterday. Other times previous newscasts aren’t even there. Not sure who drops the ball in that case. I suppose if you’re going to offer an app, maybe it should be reliable and work. ### 1/5 — v4.0.13 fails w/iOS 12.5.7 *2024-01-22, version 4.0.12* Launches to blank white screen that disappears but is still launched and must be force quit. iOS 12.5.7 was 1/23/23, and greater than 8% of all users today. That’s failure for 1-in-12 users in a competitive market where the apps for competition works perfectly still. KSNT app works! ### 1/5 — v4.0.10 of 9/7/23 doesn’t work in iOS 12.5.7 *2023-09-10* iPhone 6 Plus model MG9C2LL/A iOS 12.5.7 downloads current version 4.0.10 which launches to a blank white screen that disappears, but stays launched on white screen in the all open apps view, and must be force quit. Older versions worked, can’t get any version that works now. iPad model MD516LL with iOS 10.3.4 and WIBW app v.3.2.6 works perfectly BUT App Store offers update v. 3.4.16 and when "Update" is pressed it says "Update is not compatible" and refuses to update. Since v.3.2.6 is working, don't want to delete because afraid new downloaded version won't work. NO WAY TO CLEAR WIBW FROM UPDATES! Notification always on! ### 1/5 — Writers need grammar and spelling lessons! *2023-09-01, version 4.0.9* Misuse of “there”, “their”, “they’re” Misuse of “to”, “too”, “two” Misuse of “your”, “You’re” Ending sentences in prepositions Dangling participles Run on sentences Many other errors, but these are the glaring errors! Notification always on! ### 1/5 — Content full of scammy and shady links. *2022-07-22* WIBW apparently does not vet their advertising content which takes up 2/3 of the screen and the “related links” at the end of articles. It’s a never ending stream of wellness scams, fake news, advertorial content all pretending to be news from WIBW, and in the process destroying what little credibility they had to begin with. ### 1/5 — Latest Update = wait for it….. still waiting *2022-07-18* The most recent update takes way too long to load the most important tile in the app — the News link. The latest iPhone 13 delays almost 8 seconds between tapping the button and responding. I deleted and tried a new downloaded version and it won’t load either. Apparently “Gray” isn’t just the title of the media company. It’s the end of 2025, but app hasn’t improved in 5, or so, years! For regional news, many people depend on news apps, but this doesn’t give breaking local news, sports coverage that’s recent — especially on the weekends — or many relevant stories of what’s going on, BEFORE those events are over! Are you really on such a shoestring budget that you can’t meet current standards, or just cheap?? It’s crazy how fast the news cycle is these days. There were several apps grayed out as they were updating. The WIBW app new updated. I deleted the app from my phone but it doesn't give me the opportunity to GET it. It has the circle that you press to update but if you press it, it grays out and nothing happens. I have rebooted my phone twice. I don't know what else to do to get your app. HELP. ### 5/5 — Great App *2016-12-04, version 3.1.2* I have enjoyed having this app. It's great receiving the weather updates and alerts so I know what's happening plus prepare for. I sometimes have to re-open he app 2-3 times before it will stay open. It will frequently flash open then close again. I’ve also noticed since the update that the text in the articles overlaps the ads within the article making it very hard to read. Grammar and spelling is also a little choppy at times. I really do understand the need to get the information out fast, but spell check only takes a few extra seconds.
