## What is wieder?

der, die or das?

German nouns carry a gender you cannot reliably guess, and getting it wrong doesn't stay contained — the article is wrong, then the adjective ending, then the pronoun. It's the most audible marker of a non-native speaker, and there's no shortcut around it. You learn them one word at a time.

wieder does that one job, properly.

HOW IT WORKS

Each noun is a card. You see the word, you tap der, die or das, and the answer sweeps in under a highlighter. Right, and the word comes back in a few days. Wrong, and it's back tomorrow.

That scheduling is the entire app. It runs FSRS-4.5 — the algorithm behind modern Anki — to put each word in front of you at the moment you're about to lose it, and not before. No time spent on words you already know.

YOUR DATA STAYS ON YOUR PHONE

Progress, streak and scheduling never leave the device. There's no account, so there's nothing to attach your practice to. Anonymous usage counts help improve the app and can be turned off in Settings.

Nothing is in the cloud, which also means deleting the app deletes your progress for good.

LEVELS

A1 ships today. A2, B1 and B2 appear in the level picker marked as coming soon — they have no content yet, and nothing is behind a paywall.

"wieder" is German for "again". That's what spaced repetition is.
