This is not a problem of distance or the internet connection— we stream opera from Berlin with no such issues. The problem seems to be that the iPhone Staatsoper app is not properly buffering the streaming feed. Most such apps will show that the app is reading ahead of the current play location but this app shows nothing like that, and judging from the jerkiness of the feed, no buffering appears to be performed. This is something the app developers should fix. ### 2/5 — Wienerstaatsoper puzzles me *2017-12-31* There are two apps whose names, once the apps are downloaded, are both “StaatsoperLive”. They have almost identical icons. They seem slightly different. Please explain. But then you realize they have an extremely limited library and if you a live showing then you just miss it no going back. Very frustrating for the cost. I would subscribe from my yearly, but they do not offer a pro-rated refund, so I will wait until my subscription will lapse. Hi Vienna tech staff, you should hire support from Berlin PO, or from medici.tv, or Operavision.eu... Such a shame, you are betraying such a great opera house! And BTW I never got a response for any complaint... ### 1/5 — It does not work. connectivity issues. *2017-05-08* The Wiener Staatsoper app worked for a while but now there are connectivity issues and it is unwatchable. They sent an email saying that they are changing sytems (or something close to that) and it will take many months to fix. If the operas were availble in the archive there would not be a problem. But when I Turn subs off, it works correctly. Please do something with subtitles bug. Thanks in advance.
