None of the payment options for buying tickets / passes via app worked. I tried Apple Pay, PayPal, manual entry credit card. Non functional. Don’t waste your time trying to use this app. Just buy a pass at station or on train. ### 1/5 — rubbish app-doesn’t work-don’t waste your time *2026-05-28, version 7.15.0* This app asks many questions, makes you fill too many forms of registration, and never completes payment! I bought my tickets from the machine ### 1/5 — Avoid Vienna *2026-05-25, version 7.15.0* Highly recommend avoiding Vienna. I got shaken down by security for a “fine” payment at a subway station, even after paying the fare. Unless you’re planning on paying over €100 for no reason I’d stick to Budapest or Prague. ### 1/5 — Peu fonctionnelle *2026-05-22* Cette appli se bloque tout le temps. À chaque fois je suis obligée de la désinstaller et la réinstaller pour pouvoir acheter mes tickets. Je n’ai pas d’explication pour les blocages. Ça se produit n’importe quand. L’appli fonctionne et 5 minutes après elle ne fonctionne plus. Et c’était comme ça tous les jours. Liebe Grüße, dein WienMobil Team. ### 1/5 — Lacks basic functionality *2026-04-11, version 7.14.0* This app lacks support for essential features, e.g. telling you which ticket is needed for the travel - something that I’ve never seen missing in other cities. Also, the length of the log in process and consequently time wasted is out of proportion to just buying a single ticket. ### 2/5 — Not user friendly *2026-01-11, version 7.12.0* You have to spend 30 minutes filling out information before you can buy a ticket ### 1/5 — Lack of privacy *2025-12-16, version 7.12.0* Requires a totally unreasonable amount of personal data just to buy a bus ticket. Lame. ### 1/5 — App got us fined *2025-11-17, version 7.11.0* The 7 day pass does not make it clear that it does not include the single stop between the airport and the “city zone” we were each fined €105 for a €2 ticket we were supposedly missing. The app makes no mention of where the city zone ends when purchasing the ticket. Really put a downer on the whole trip. Overall we feel scammed. ### 1/5 — You can do better *2025-11-14, version 7.11.0* Buying a ticket is an absurd experience, seemingly designed to test your patience. One of the worst UX I’ve seen in a long time ### 3/5 — Benachrichtigungen *2025-11-09, version 7.11.0* Benachrichtigungen sind gut was die Auswahl der Linen betrifft, wenn aktiviert kommen die aber IMMER, 24 Stunden (auch wenn ich schlafe!). Man kann zwar die Zeit eingrenzen (Settings), aber man nicht einstellen das die Nachrichten nur dann kommen wenn die App offen (in Verwendung) ist. Man kann zwar alle Störungen anzeigen, aber die Auswahl der Linen (unter Benachrichtigungen eingestellt) greift dann auch nicht. Also habe ich die wieder abgestellt, man sitzt ja nicht 24/7 im Bus/Tram. Sonst gut und notwendig - speziell die Zuklin Bus fahren fast nie nach dem Fahrplan (Aushang). ### 1/5 — Not all of us can get 16.0 *2025-11-08, version 7.6.0* So sort this out. Worse than nothing. ### 1/5 — Great public transport system, complicated App and registration process for ticket purchase *2026-08-11, version 7.17.0* Vienna has a great public transport system. However, this app and its registration system is too convoluted and complicated for someone like me on a short term visit trying to simply purchase a ticket. You have to register on a separate system called log.Wien, Register your email, provide all your personal info and address just to buy a ticket. ### 1/5 — Never works *2026-08-10, version 7.17.0* I’ve tried every single credit card: Apple Pay, and also scanning my physical cards, it rejects every single transaction and sends an email saying that there was suspicious activity. And that’s after spending too much time creating an account, confirming it. Real hassle to set up. So I’ve been having to buy tickets at the ticket machines, which are more expensive. I would give zero stars if I could. ### 1/5 — Waste of time and stressful *2026-08-01, version 7.17.0* The onboarding is much too complex for buying tickets to hop on a bus, subway, or tram. Give yourself several moments before you need it to do this. It never worked for me. Tried several times to buy tickets but they never went through. Ended up just buying single tix at station kiosks for subways. Deleted this piece of junk. ### 1/5 — Awful on-boarding *2026-07-26* 20 minutes to make an account. Captcha verification was super slow ! Is it really necessary to ask for personal address for buying tram tickets ? They make you create a wienlog account and then ask again for the same information. App takes you through a bajillion step process just to buy a single ticket. Then you get to the end and payment doesn’t work at all. ### 1/5 — Shocking hostile garbage *2026-07-19, version 7.17.0* Incapable of selling a ticket without demanding heaps of invasive personal information. You do not need my full name, date of birth, verified email address, and international home residential address, to sell me a bus ticket. Then it craps out on multiple payment methods - Apple Pay failed, PayPal failed, direct card failed x3. Doesn’t work at all without a permanent data connection. Meanwhile I’ve booked two tours and a vehicle transfer in another app. The routing advice does not connect through to the ticketing, either. Designed by pompous bureaucrats who hate consumers and implemented by incompetents. This is all in stark contrast to a similar app I used last week for Prague, which had none of these issues. In the end I gave up this heap of garbage and called an Uber. Be very ashamed of yourselves, Vienna. ### 1/5 — Doesn’t accept payments *2026-07-07, version 7.17.0* We tried in early July (5-7) and couldn’t buy tickets on the app; it wouldn’t accept payment and just spun and timed out. We tried multiple times with different combinations of cards directly and Apple Pay. Bank has no record of authorization. Trotz aller Begeisterung noch ein unverschämter Wunsch: Vielleicht könnten auf der Karte noch die U-Bahnstationen zur Orientierung angezeigt werden. Dafür würde ich in der Bewertung noch einen 6.
