I have paid a lot of money for Trimlight! this App really does not work, from day one the timing part of the app did not work, it came on but never switched off, then about s week ago just stopped functioning and the app disappeared altogether, had someone come to help yesterday and all was great until this morning when it stopped working again and can no longer join the network. It’s a pretty appalling app for an expensive lighting system, surely the developers can figure this out. ### 1/5 — Time Controls Vanished *2017-12-30, version 1.2.3* It updated today to IOS 11 compatibility and now the timer settings are missing. Avoid this companies expensive products and their terribly developed app. It's buggy, barely works, has an insane setup method (considering we are in 2017 at the time of this review), and has very little features. The products are expensive and somehow deliver very little. App on both phone and IPad will not connect. ### 1/5 — Insecure Wi-Fi means no configuration *2019-05-17, version 1.2.5* The user cannot configure the software because the phone will not allow communication to an insecure network. iPhone WiFi literally will no longer connect to the device which means you can't use the application S/W to configure the controllers. Even after disabling security software, the Apple OS will not allow communication to an unsecured Wi-Fi. My phone now automatically connects with the provided WiFi router instead of my own personal one which then creates problems later on. The app can only be accessed if you are on a WiFi network—not cool. As for the design, it is horrible to say the least. The app is hard to understand and buttons are not in ideal spots. That app runs off of an operating system that is similar to what Apple iPhone 3 and 3G the worked off of — very outdated. The electrician won’t even respond. It’s a on goring problem. Could someone please tell me What the solution to mess is can’t even turn off blinking lights in basement since Xmas? Thanks Jan blinking in Washington state. ## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated) ### 5/5 — Love the functionality of this app with Trimlight *2018-11-17, version 1.2.4* This app works great with my Trimlight system! Sure it takes some time to learn all the settings but that is to be expected with any app that provides so many amazing options. Trimlight provides an excellent video tutorial explaining exactly how to use the app. I don’t know understand the complaints I read, once you watch the you tube video and follow along you should have no issues setting up and using your system. I am very impressed with Trimlight and my app, awesome system! ### 5/5 — Works Every Time *2018-11-17, version 1.2.4* I have worked with a number of different control units for LED lighting and this app and WiFi unit are far more reliable, and have a much better connection to my devices and home WiFi router. It does exactly what I need it to do which is allow me to control my light from phone! Spend a little time with it and it is really not very hard to figure out. ### 5/5 — LOVE this! *2018-11-14, version 1.2.4* I am so extremely happy with these lights and the capabilities this app gives you. There are a few things that could use a little updating but honestly, it’s not that big of a deal. I’m still completely satisfied with this app and the lights! It’s fun to come up with different color combos and to be able to save them. Oh! And the fact that I can have these on a timer I set in this app is THE BEST! ### 5/5 — Works fine if you read the instructions. *2018-05-08, version 1.2.4* I see people complaining. The app works just fine. Does every thing it’s supposed to do. You seriously have to spend some time reading the book that came with it. For the lady with the blinking lights. I had that happen to me. It indicates that the lights aren’t synced with the controller. Two second fix. Read the book. Steve in Colorado ### 4/5 — Good LED Control System *2017-05-08, version 1.2* I use this app and the associated hardware to control two strings of RGBW LEDs in my house. For the most part, it works very well and offers flexible control over my LEDs, but will occasionally lose connection via my home Wi-Fi and require the Wi-Fi connection to be set up again. My other devices do not do this. Some attention is required from the manufacturers. Furthermore, the system must before too long offer HomeKit functionality. Otherwise, I will replace it with a system which does. ### 3/5 — Need More Scenes *2016-06-11, version 1.1* If you are willing to spend some time with it the app works OK. I would like the ability to have more than 4 scenes. This seems like it should be an easy upgrade for the developer. It also cries out for a new name so that you know what it is. ### 2/5 — No Schedule Capability *2017-05-29, version 1.2* My permanent holiday lights use this app to control colors and sequences. These work OK although not very user friendly. Biggest flaw is there is no schedule capability. I have to turn the lights on and off every night using the app. Why no schedule or timer?
