## What is Wifi?

WifiCommunicator — your phones, one channel.

Turn the phones around you into a walkie-talkie and intercom system over your local Wi-Fi. Open a channel, and everyone on the same network can talk hands-free in real time — full-duplex, like a phone call, not push-to-talk. There's no server, no account, and no internet connection required. Your voice stays on your own network.

Perfect for the workshop, the house and garden, a boat or campsite, events, warehouses, or anywhere a group needs quick, reliable voice contact without phone numbers or data.

WHAT IT DOES
• Walkie-talkie & intercom over Wi-Fi — talk to nearby phones instantly
• Full-duplex voice — speak and listen at the same time
• Named channels — create your own or join one that's already on the network
• Multiple people per channel — everyone hears everyone (group talk)

SMART & HANDS-FREE
• Auto-answer: keep a channel on standby and join automatically when someone starts talking (while the app is open)
• Pin a channel to join it the moment you open the app
• Background audio keeps an active call running when the screen locks

CLEAR AUDIO
• Selectable speech detection to cut out background noise — choose Standard or Adaptive to suit your environment
• Automatic switching to headphones — plug in wired or connect Bluetooth and the audio follows; unplug and it switches back
• Output to speaker, earpiece, Bluetooth, or wired headset
• Low-latency mode for snappier conversations and loud mode for noisy surroundings

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
• Everything is peer-to-peer on your local network — nothing is sent to the internet
• No sign-up, no phone number, no cloud
• Protect a channel with a PIN (only a salted hash is ever stored or shared)
