## What is WiFi Diag?

WiFi Diag helps you investigate lag, instability and access-point roaming on home Wi‑Fi, Mesh and enterprise AC+AP networks.

Rather than giving you a single speed-test number, WiFi Diag continuously measures TCP round-trip time through a WebSocket Echo Server and places latency, echo timeouts, real connection interruptions and Wi‑Fi roaming on one timeline.

KEY FEATURES

• High-frequency RTT diagnostics with current, average and P95 latency.
• Track echo loss, late responses, disconnections, reconnections and unavailable time.
• Detect AP roaming by recording BSSID changes on the same SSID when Wi‑Fi information access is available.
• Tap, drag, pan and zoom the interactive chart to inspect individual samples and longer time ranges.
• Save diagnostic history and review roaming and disconnection records.
• Export complete sessions as CSV or JSON.
• Choose a saved endpoint or add your own WebSocket Echo Server, including one deployed on your LAN.
• View useful network context such as local IP addresses, subnet, gateway, DNS, proxy and VPN status when iOS makes it available.

FOR HOME AND PROFESSIONAL NETWORKS

Use WiFi Diag to compare different rooms or times of day, investigate unstable calls and games, verify Mesh handoffs, or document AC+AP behavior during a walk test.

PRIVACY

WiFi Diag does not request or read your geographic coordinates. iOS requires Precise Location permission before apps can access the current SSID/BSSID. You can deny permission and still diagnose latency and connection stability, but Wi‑Fi names and roaming detection will be unavailable. Diagnostic history stays on your device unless you export it.

IMPORTANT

WiFi Diag measures TCP round-trip behavior; it is not a bandwidth speed test, RF scanner or signal-strength analyzer. Keep the app in the foreground during a diagnosis because iOS may pause background execution.
