### 4/5 — It works…

*2015-12-25, version 1.0.6*

… as long as you also download a RECEIVER for your Mac desktop/laptop from the website. Look under “Details”.

### 2/5 — Trackpad works but keystrokes hang and won’t respond

*2015-05-02, version 1.0.6*

The touchpad works well enough, allowing you to navigate screens and click buttons and links. However, when using the keyboard the keys take a very long time to respond. It seems to hang and the app becomes unresponsive. I can type a URL, go make some coffee, and when I return only the first few characters have been entered. I am using it on an iPad to control my Mac Mini. My wireless connection is within the same room and strong.

Bottom line is this app is good if you need touchpad control, but unusable if you need keyboard functionality.

### 2/5 — Works ok, no RDP support though

*2013-11-27*

Downloaded while working at home because my mouse died. Works great for my local computer but doesn't seem to work when clicking on anything in a Remote Desktop client window. For me this was a deal breaker because of my desired use. I'd have rated it higher if I didn't have this problem or if I could have easily reported this bug from the app instead of writing a review or digging up a support email address.

### 3/5 — Good but ....

*2013-08-17, version 1.0.6*

Can NOT change the keyboard language !
Can NOT get rid of that bulky keyboard !

### 4/5 — It works perfectly

*2013-07-07, version 1.0.6*

The problem is we have to download iReceiver first on the laptop. However the link to this application is hide in the information setting which is difficult to find. At first I don't understand why it cannot connect to my computer. But after I installed the software, it works. It would be better if the link to iReceiver is stated on description of this Application in App Store.

### 3/5 — Good app, but has some bugs

*2012-12-07*

I really like the app. And it does what it says. Im using it to control my Windows Vista laptop. A couple of problems: I HAVE to start the app on my Ipad first and then on my laptop, or otherwise the Ipad app crashes on the 'looking for computer..' loading text. Needless to say, because of this the app can't auto-connect. Every time, i basically have to start the ipad app, then the iReceiver on my computer, and then manually connect from the ipad app.

And secondly, if i change screens on my ipad to something else that is not this app, when i go back it crashes again. And then i have to go through the process to reconnect again. If those things were fixed this would be an awesome app. Still this is the best 'ipad-as-mouse' app on the market though. I especially like being able to drag and move things on windows --a feature that the other apps are lacking. Thanks developers and keep up the great work, looking forward to your next updates! Ps. Im running iOS 5.1.1

### 3/5 — Needs iTunes to work!

*2012-07-02, version 1.0.6*

Needs a dll from iTunes on pc. Works ok, but keyboard looks a bit naff

### 4/5 — That's what I needed!

*2012-04-29*

This is a really useful app! Worked just after installing the receiver software on my PC. Not giving it 5 stars for a few reasons:
- doesn't keep working in the background so I have to reconnect each time I reopen it (but it reconnect very quickly)
- the touchpad seems a bit inaccurate
- the description of the app should make it clearer that you need to download the receiver

### 4/5 — works as advertised

*2012-04-04*

this app DOES work as long as you download the i receiver application for either your pc or Mac. easy, and simple, no bells and whistles. landscape and portrait functionality both work fine, however I've found that the portrait configuration does seem to be a bit congested, but this is to be expected given the small space to begin with. something else to understand is that since this app is working over your wifi network, there a noticeable amount of latency. lastly, the app does not have a way to shut of the key click sounds. I find this to be a bit annoying, but I have little room to complain since this is a free app.

### 3/5 — Ireceiver

*2012-02-14*

Hi, I am looking forward to getting my mini mac and am looking to use my ipad 2 as a keyboard.
Since this app is free I'm willing to try this.
I'm guessing the ireceiver is an application for Mac and not the iPad.
But just wanted to double check, as searching for it in the app store, I couldn't find it.
I gave this app a 3 as a neutral rating since I have yet to use it.

### 3/5 — Great

*2012-01-27, version 1.05*

Great app does exactly what it needs to, but the mouse takes a while to respond :/

### 3/5 — How To

*2012-01-23, version 1.05*

Can someone tell me how to connect this to my Windows Vista Laptop please?

### 4/5 — Great

*2012-01-19, version 1.05*

This app is cool....

### 2/5 — Connection!!

*2012-01-19*

Only works 10% of the time and for a little while, also needs the option of connecting to a computer on a different network for better connectivity and reliability, such as an Ethernet connection

### 2/5 — Connections!

*2012-01-14, version 1.05*

This has connection problems.
Translated : Do not get it!

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — No wifi permission to be able to use

*2023-03-31*

No wifi permission to be able to use on ipad

### 1/5 — Rubbish app

*2015-11-07, version 1.0.6*

Total rubbish unresponsive and when u choose the down mode the advert strip if right the middle of the touchpad. You did make me buy anything by advertising that way but you certainly earn a bad review

### 1/5 — Cannot Connect

*2013-09-20*

Great idea, but it isn't working. I have the iReceiver installed on my PC, and my firewall set up to allow iReceiver access through it. Even after manually adding my PCs IP address I couldn't connect. Yes, both ipad and PC were using the same wifi network.

I considered giving this two stars rather than one, but the so-called support for this app was slim. If you cannot get this to work, do not expect any assistance for the help page.

Onward.

### 1/5 — Connection issues

*2013-07-29, version 1.0.6*

The app works fine when its connection with the computer is stable, which was rare in my case. As it keeps disconnecting, I had to delete the app and try another app…

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2013-06-06, version 1.0.6*

Couldn't find the computer sitting next to it. Both on the same wifi.

Tried entering the computer ip manually but still no go

As Aristotle said "life is too short for bad software"

### 1/5 — Could not get this to work.

*2013-06-02, version 1.0.6*

Waste of time. Could not get this to work and support was difficult to find. Extremely dissatisfied and disappointed.

### 1/5 — Bibb

*2012-11-26, version 1.0.6*

Disconnection all the time. Deleted

### 1/5 — Crashed iPad and Macbook

*2012-09-29, version 1.0.6*

Had the app running on my iPad and connected to my Macbook for about 10min then both started to hang simultaneously. Had to force reboot both. Not good...

### 1/5 — Me too doesn

*2011-12-05, version 1.05*

Doesn't work at all.

### 1/5 — Does not work for me...

*2011-11-07, version 1.05*

Loses connection to my Windows 7 HTPC in a matter of seconds. Deleted the application from my iPad after a few attempts. Interestingly, it did not ask me to rate the app upon deletion. The app contains advertisement(a bar at the top)

### 5/5 — Rock Solid

*2020-03-05, version 1.1.1*

Been using this app since it came out and it hasn’t changed at all over time. This app has been rock solid and reliable for many years without any updates that change the user experience (don’t fix what’s not broken approach). I’ve tried other apps that do the same thing but always keep coming back to this one. I literally keep a Windows machine running because this is not on Mac (or at least wasn’t when I tried looking). It connects very quickly and the mouse cursor responds just the way you’d expect. Multitouch two finger scrolling, two finger tap for right click. I use it to control a TV PC. Nowadays many smart TV’s don’t require a PC for watching YouTube and searching the internet but they are not as smooth as this. Like I mentioned earlier, this app has never changed since it’s inception and that’s a good thing. I seriously wanted to connect a Mac to my TV but purchased a Windows machine so I can keep using this app. It’s a must have app if you’re using Windows on a TV.

I have only 1 small complaint but it’s not a deal breaker. If you launch the app in portrait and turn your device to landscape, it doesn’t always change orientation correctly leaving the keyboard off screen and some unused space. There is a workaround however. If you’re intending on using landscape mode, then, just launch the app while you’re device is in landscape and it’ll work. Portrait will always work but landscape has issues if you’re switching back and forth. It’s really not a huge deal as I normally only use portrait anyway.

### 5/5 — Love it

*2012-11-18, version 1.0.6*

I love this free app. Up and running in under 5 minutes. Much faster and less hassle than TeamViewer, etc. Very satisfied!!

### 5/5 — Works perfectly!

*2012-08-26*

Great free app! Works perfectly! Make sure you download the program on the pc side to get this to work. I suspect that's where the low ratings come from. Also, the paid app is without ads.

### 5/5 — amazing

*2012-07-30, version 1.0.6*

great app. use it all the time.

### 5/5 — Awesome

*2012-05-12*

It didn't work for me at first but I realized my firewall blocked it from connecting with my computer. Very cool app, good for emergency like crazy wireless mouse and keyboard stop working at right in the middle of the night and my project is due tomorrow.
The only thing I can complain about is there is no scrolling function like the touchpad on laptop, it's hard to browse Internet with this touchpad

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2012-01-20, version 1.05*

This does exactly what it says. Been using it for a few days now and haven't had any problems. Fantastic app and It's free :-)

### 5/5 — Works Great!!!

*2012-01-16, version 1.05*

I Love It!!! Simply download the free ireceiver software and open the app and there u r using ur iPad as a wireless keyboard!!

### 5/5 — FANTASTIC APP !!!

*2012-01-11*

The idiots giving it a bad review are obviously too stupid to have downloaded the iReceiver needed to make it function !! Some people shouldn't be allowed to own technology they either clearly don't understand or are too lazy to put in the work. I'm really sick of apps getting bad reviews when 9 times out of 10 it's the fault of the person who downloaded it !!

### 5/5 — Matter of seconds

*2012-01-08*

Worked within seconds of installing the pc software. Works great, going to tell everyone who is interested about this app. iPad 2, HP tablet windowsXP

### 5/5 — Works great!

*2011-12-28*

When I first installed it, the app didn't work. Restarting the computer and the iPad seemed to work after that. Very helpful, highly recommended app.
