In my opinion, that’s outright fraud. I purchased a 20-lesson package and wanted to reduce it to 10 lessons. I contacted Wiingy’s customer service, and a lady persuaded me to try a few lessons first and then decide if I wanted to change my package. However, according to their policy, once you start a lesson, you can’t request a refund. She was lying on my face! I initially filed a dispute with my bank, but I later canceled it because I do like my tutor. So, I decided to stick with the 20-lesson package. They call me from new number everyday, lie about the tutors that are available and re-route you to India-based tutors and they are very rude. Terrible service. Only good thing is the tutors, but even they’re so restricted in how they teach because Wiingy secretly watches every lesson. Insane company, stay away. The tutor Sonali was excellent, very knowledgeable and patient. Even when I struggled to explain what I was trying to do, she understood exactly what I meant and guided me step by step . Save your money and read a book. ### 1/5 — Terrible scammy Company *2026-05-15* They used a bait and switch tactic to get business. I signed up for tutoring on SUPER PROF (where they had created a fake account using AI). When I went to my free consult, the tutor i signed up for was mysteriously unavailable and they had me transfer over to their app. But they didn’t reveal that this was a completely different company until AFTER they had taken payment. I asked to purchase 12 classes as a ONE time payment, and instead they signed me up for a monthly billing cycle. When I got charged a 2nd time, they denied my refund. Then told me in order to get a refund, I needed to purchase another month. Total scammy and gross behavior. I had to go through my bank to dispute the charges and I won’t be using them again. (My tutor was great but the management was terrible). ### 1/5 — SCAM ALERT! BEWARE *2026-03-25, version 3.3* SCAM ALERT! BEWARE. Their tutor found me on a different platform. Scheduled me, canceled me, rescheduled me with a different tutor, then got me to move to this platform. Pay money, scheduled. My tutor didn’t show up and continue to refuse to refund my money even in the first week where they supposedly allow refunds. ### 1/5 — Wiingy staff *2026-01-14, version 3.2* The tutors are really good and nice however the people who call constantly the wiingi staff(NOT THE TUTOR) are rude and disrespectful and when telling them you won’t be returning for personal reasons, they don’t listen ### 1/5 — Scam *2025-12-26, version 3.2* You can book an appointment with someone name Nick, they’ll confirm your appointment then when the time comes you join a zoom call with someone completely different. I don’t know what’s going on with this app ### 1/5 — BEWARE THE SCAMMY BUSINESS for both students and teachers *2025-11-11, version 3.1* This app is scammy, as they offer fake tutors and fake costs. It is run by intermediaries who pretend to be tutors when messaging you, and then when you start a free trial, they join the call, and say that the tutor is ill/can’t make it so give you a ‘replacement tutor’. This replacement tutor is also losing in this situation as they are forced to do a free trial for you, even though they are not who you signed up/paid for. The intermediary stays and monitors you the whole time during the lesson online. Then, after the lesson, they tell you that you have to pay for a pack of 20-50 lessons at once in order to get the advertised price. (This costs over $1k to buy all at once.) If you want to buy fewer lessons, the hourly cost is much higher. Then the intermediary pressures you to purchase the lesson packs right then and there, and you can’t wait until later, because they ‘have to organise something on their end straight away’. This is a lie to try to get you to spend straight away - when I said I was not purchasing it immediately, they then changed their tune and told me I could just do it later in the app. Both students and tutors online and on reddit have said how they have had similar, very scammy and ‘bait-and-switch’ experiences. The tutors get paid at a SIGNIFICANTLY reduced rate compared to what the app charges you for. They give their tutors fake names so you can’t look them up separately. No one is winning in this situation. Please be aware for both students and tutors! ### 1/5 — No response from tutors *2025-10-05, version 3.0.3* I have had the worst experience ever! None of the tutors ever responded. One responded and sent an English tutor for macroeconomics. I will not use wi by anymore ### 1/5 — Poor! *2025-07-15, version 3.0.3* Both times I found a tutor and booked a trial lesson I was told at the start of the lesson that the tutor has cancelled last minute and they have found someone else. I find this really unprofessional as you have no time to check the tutor. I’m reporting to super prof if I don’t get a refund ### 1/5 — SCAM! *2024-11-11* Do not use this app! I signed my son up for a chess lesson on a different site. The day of the free demo lesson they switched his teacher. At the end of the lesson they insisted I download Wiingy and cancel the other site. I did this and after paying I wasn’t able to connect with the woman that tutored my son. I’ve been in touch with their customer service every day and they keep telling me to be patient and give them time. Initially, I thought I might only take four lessons, now I'm thinking of taking 20.
