## What is WikiCurios?

I noticed that when the 2026 World Cup was going on here in Dallas the online and TV news stories were all upbeat, fun, and heart warming. Now with it over the stories are back to crime, war, politics, death. It's all bad news. If you would rather not hear that then this is the app for you.

When you run WikiCurios on your iPhone and tap "Start" it will read you a random, curious and interesting Wikipedia entry. It can run in background and standby at custom intervals or at random. So, if you set it for every hour (say) then on-the-hour you will hear a curious and interesting wikipedia factoid. WikiCurios will also present you the text of the factoid with a link so you can explore it further on Wikipedia.

Some of these are so fun and interesting you will just have to share them with your family and friends! They will really love you for this.

WikiCurios can also be driven by Apple Shortcuts. With Shortcuts you can create Automation to have your iPhone speak an interesting, random Wikipedia fact at a time of day, or when you arrive someplace, or when your iPhone connects to CarPlay, and on many other events. With Shortcuts you can connect WikiCurios to Siri and say "Hey Siri, WikiCurios" (the 'O' is hard). You can also say "Hey Siri, Random fact in WikiCurios", or "Hey Siri, Tell me something from WikiCurios". To make it shutup say "Hey Siri, Wikicurios" and it will immediately stop speaking.

## Key features
