## What is WildTrails Recent Sightings?

Wildlife Recent Sightings, Look before you Book.
Planning a wildlife outing for your upcoming holidays? First & foremost have a look at sightings across all national parks and tiger reserves, look at Sighting Index including Tiger Sighting Index ® (if you are very particular for Tiger sightings) and then plan your destination.

This is the only app that gives you complete details of sightings of all species and not just Tigers, across most of the top national parks and reserves in India (soon global). We do data mining and do data analytics on these sightings data and then we come up with a Sighting Index metric which probably can predict well on what are your chances of sighting a particular species (say Tiger or any given bird or any mammals or reptiles for that matter) in a given sanctuary for a given zone/gate during a given period. This will greatly enhance your sightings probability for sure and hence the tagline - look before you book. We have now more than 2 years worth of data and across 30+ national parks and reserves and the coverage is increasing drastically too.

The WildTrails Recent Sightings App, not only acts like a ready reckoner for Sighting Index, but it also is a one-stop destination for all wildlife travel related parts - The Platform for wildlife travelers - be it connecting the jungle resorts that are attached to a given gate/zone of a given sanctuary, listing how far it is from the safari gate to also list all those service providers who book safari for a given sanctuary. Using this you can easily contact which resort you feel comfortable and ends up with jungle resorts booking as well as helps you to book the safaris.

If you are that kind of a person who doesn’t want any hassles of booking individually but just want a hassle free package, the App also acts like a single platform to list all packages be it customized packages or fixed itinerary packages or even group packages fixed departure ones and you can just participate in those group ones.

The WildTrails Recent sightings app also is a directory of Wildlife Sanctuaries, Tiger Reserves, Elephant Reserves, Bird Sanctuaries and National Parks across India (& soon global). You can explore most of the wildlife locations in India. If you are a wildlife lover and love exploring wildlife destination, you will enjoy using this app to discover the topmost wildlife locations and sanctuaries.

The WildTrails app also suggests the best time to visit any wildlife sanctuary, do’s and don’t, past trip experiences and much more. If you have any preference in terms of the type of wild animals or birds that you want to watch, how close/far the accommodation are from the forest gates and more, we curate all these for you. You can even pick the attached accommodation based on distance from current location or a given city or even based on the distance from the nearest airport.

The app has a very smooth user interface so you will enjoy using this app. The app is free forever and we are helping the community of wildlife explorers whether you are a beginner or an expert. So, what are you waiting for?

### 5/5 — Great App for a wildlife enthusiast.

*2022-05-31, version 6.0*

I love the up to date news and sightings etc.
but I am not able to share to Twitter directly.

### 1/5 — Works only if you book through them.

*2019-03-11, version 5.6*

They capture a lot of your personal data before leading you to their subscription plan. Misleading. If I’d have known before I wouldn’t have divulged my info and wasted my time.

### 5/5 — Very handy and unique app

*2018-05-01, version 4.2*

I was pleasantly surprised to find this app that consolidates real-time safari updates from real guides besides offering the typical services that travel apps do.

### 5/5 — Looking Out For Clients

*2018-03-05, version 4.2*

I spent 4 days and 3 nights at Kabini, staying at Kabini River Lodge, and my time there was spectacular. I arranged private transport through Wild Trails from Bangalore and it couldn’t have gone smoother. My driver, Satish, picked me up on time and was a very safe and professional driver. He was very kind and accommodating. From Bangalore, it took us 4.5 hours before we arrived at the River Lodge.

The Lodge itself is very quiet and the cabins are spacious. They have a small balcony looking down towards the water and you are just a short 20 meter walk from lovely sunset views over the the reservoir, watching flying foxes swoop down over the water at dusk. The buffet food is absolutely amazing, with over 80% of it being vegetarian. After spending a few days here, expect to put on a few kilos of delicious Indian cuisine.

What has surprised me most about Kabini is the level of care and respect they have for wildlife management. The number of vehicles for the amount of square kilometers means that it’s very easy to set off in your own jeep without a line of other vehicles ahead or behind you.

The zones are just the right size for jeeps to meet up every so often to check in on sightings, and then drive off in separate directions--giving you a true experience with nature and wildlife. The lighting in the morning and evening is wonderful, and driving down dirt roads with hundreds of spotted deer and countless langurs bouncing around in search of bigger game is a beautiful experience.

Another thing I like about Kabini is that it feels wild. It’s not like some places you go where they bait or surround sighted animals as if they are in show. Finding cats at Kabini takes patience and time. Don’t expect them to be sitting there waiting for you—posing on a rock or tree branch wondering what took you so long. You have to work to find them, but this is what makes the safari experience feel authentic, as you truly appreciate your encounters with the big cats.

The drivers and naturalists are great. They are very attentive and proactive. Their ears and eyes are open at all times, and they strike a perfect balance of sitting and waiting when calls indicate something might be near, and driving ahead to see what may be found around the next bend or hill when nothing presents itself.

Going with Wild Trails was a great decision. After a slight miscommunication on my first safari, Manju and Gee were quick to contact the general manager here to make sure everything went smoothly the rest of the time. Wild Trails checked in each day to see how things were going and whether we had any sightings. Having spent a few days here at the Lodge, the guides and naturalists began to know what I wanted and were helpful in providing the safari experience that suited my needs. The general manager and lead naturalist could not have been more accommodating and hospitable, and this is due to their relationship with Wild Trails.

Overall, I would highly recommend booking a multi-day safari at Kabini with Wild Trails. Great park, great guides and great care of their clients. A big thank you to Gangaswamy and Ravi at Kabini, along with Manju and Gee at Wild Trails.
