Then there’s no way to get any directions to fix the issue. Too bad I’m definitely deleting. ### 1/5 — Not worth it *2016-07-30, version 1.4* When it checks my Walmart receipts it never finds lower prices but the Walmart app always finds lower prices on every receipt I scan. ### 1/5 — Don't bother *2016-06-24, version 1.4* The app is easy to use which is a plus. However it often doesn't recognize items, so it can't check the price. In addition it *might* check for better prices when you submit the receipt, but it definitely does not check/notify you during the 14-30 days when you are still eligible for a price match if there is a sale or price change. For a few weeks I received no notifications. When I was in store at Target I saw a better price. Windfall showed no savings. I brought my receipt in anyway the next day and saved $2. Emailed Windfall and got no response. Who know how much other savings I missed out on. Just deleted the app. Too bad it doesn't work. They told me Walmart owed me money. I drove 60 miles (closest Walmart) only to find that I am in fact not eligible for a refund and they even laughed to my face when I showed them Windfall. I have friends in the industry and they told me that Windfall and others sell data to marketers and retailers. Also several items are not picked up when I scan them. Out of the last 13 items purchased only 6 items were recognized. One item not... Tide detergent, which is an item found in all other competing locations. I feel that I am missing savings with app. Hopefully this default can be corrected because the idea behind it is awesome and a great way for families to save anywhere they can. ### 1/5 — Does not work! *2015-12-29, version 1.2* Will not scan at all!! Wasted a lot of time trying to get it to scan ### 2/5 — Good Idea, Needs Improvement *2015-12-28, version 1.2* Overall, the concept is pretty cool. The app is very easy to use. Hopefully they will correct issues on mixing letters and numbers. Will be great if simply scanning the barcode would get all the details of the receipt instead of having to scan the entire receipt (see below). Would like to see more retailers added as well. I'll definitely continue to try and use the app. Every little bit of savings helps! Con: -Currently only available for a few retailers. Big box true grocery stores are not included (Kroger, Publix, Costco, SAMs, Meijer, etc.). Only Walmart and Target are available. -A lot of the characters are read wrong or in complete. A zero mistaken for the letter "O", an incomplete zero for the letter "J", five for an "S", etc. One of the numbers was read as a %. I tried holding my phone in place longer in the same spot of the receipt, shifting slightly to see if a different angle would help (other than straight above) but the app crashed three times. - On my Target receipt, I had purchased 33 items, I scanned it 3 times and every time different items were not recognized (6-10 each time). These were common items (Tide, Downey). -I was only able to get the barcode on the receipt to scan once. Not sure what the purpose is since you still have to scan the remainder of the receipt. Seems like a waste. -App times out/ crashes for longer receipts. This happened to me multiple times. -I forget to scan the receipt while at the store. Would be a nice feature if locations services or GPS was incorporated to remind you. It's not a huge deal to get the savings next time in at the store, but if you don't go within the window, the you miss out. ### 1/5 — Won't scan *2015-12-28, version 1.2* I tried everything to get this app to scan. It was a Walmart receipt it wouldn't scan the barcode the QR code or the products listed on the receipt. I even tried it hands off for fear that it was just too much movement to scan. It never did scan it just kept flashing green over the numbers and the products. It never give me the checkmark that it was successful. ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Seems I’m not alone *2022-08-02, version 1.5* I was excited to try this but there’s no “sign up” only “sign in”. When I click on the Facebook it says bad gateway and when I clicked support here in App Store the link was invalid. There’s no website that I can find either. But instead I did read the review of the person whom had received over $11 from the Walmart Saving Catcher, but had not received NOTHING from WINDFALL from the same area. The person was afraid that they were just taking & using their private information so I’m glad now my emails didn’t work at the time of set up. After I leave here I’m going to delete the Windfall app from my phone. Has anyone ever got any $$ from them, really? I got around $17 back over a few shopping trips but then after a number of months of You got the Best Prices it now won't even recognize and items on my receipt. How can't it have Tide Pods in its system? On a trip to Walmart recently I used Windfall and Savings Catcher and when Savings Catcher found a lower price Windfall still showed I got the best price. I reported this to the developers and have never gotten a response. Guess it's time to delete it and free up some space for a less worthless app. ### 1/5 — Doesn't seem to work *2017-01-03, version 1.5* I have been using this app in conjunction with Walmart's Savings Catcher. In using them for the same amount of time, and on the same receipts, Walmart's Savings Catcher has found $11 and some change in refunds while Windfall has found nothing. Windfall always says I got the best prices. I can't validate that Windfall actually works because it has found no refunds for me. It makes me suspicious that the creators of the app are only after my personal info. All I had to do was show the lower prices to customer service and they handed me the difference in cash. Target’s customer service will then use their iPad just to make sure the lower prices are real and then you get monies back in your pocket. Seriously could not be simpler. You rock Windfall! It sometimes doesn't recognize products (generic store brand) which is fine. The only complaint I have is that if you mess up on a receipt you can't delete past receipts or mess up receipts. I would also like for them to add more stores.
