The app owners don’t respond to queries and I imagine are not interested in upkeep - just want to take your money! Don’t buy. ### 2/5 — Lookup of Wines Does Not Work *2021-04-22, version 4.0.8* This app used to look up wines via the internet when you typed in a name and filled in that info for you. Now the lookup no longer works and you have to enter everything manually. Not nearly as useful as it used to be when I first bought the app. ### 1/5 — Used to be great *2021-04-11, version 4.0.8* Too bad they let dust build on this old wine cellar, because being able to access their wine cellar database was what made this a killer app. Now some simple programming error (or they stopped paying their subscription fee to who ever was maintaining the database) causes an error when looking up wine. I’ve spent hours filling in my wines (after paying for the extra storage) and after downloading the iOS 14.3 the data will NOT open. I have the upgraded version and now 3 years of inventory is lost? No support, no nothing! Buy a different app. This one is worthless now. I bought the increased storage and th support website doesn’t work ### 2/5 — Appears not to be supported anymore *2020-12-22, version 4.0.8* When I bought a few years ago there were not many wine cellar apps. This was better than the other one I tried. But even from the beginning it often did not find the wine I was entering from the online search feature. If it did it find it it usually was not a current vintage. Entering 2015 rarely found a 2015 (or even a 2013 or 2014) but more likely a 2009 vintage version. Like someone else reviewed, the online search no longer works. The process is very manual and can take 30 minutes to add 12 different bottles. There are probably better apps out there so I would look at those first especially since this app has not had an update in over 2 years. With over 100 bottles in my collection and 50 different types, it will probably be too difficult to change at this point. ### 1/5 — Deleted it *2020-12-09, version 4.0.8* After it being one of my most used apps for years, it stopped working with IOS4.2. A reinstall will get the app working again but you will lose your data if you don’t have it on another device. With no update for two years, no auto iCloud backup, this app is deprecated and I have deleted it permanently. I recommend avoiding it. ### 1/5 — App crashing with no support *2020-12-08, version 4.0.8* Does anyone know how to reach support? The app doesn’t work on IOS 14.2. I click the tile and the app attempts to launch but immediately crashes. Support is nonexistent. Is it possible they just abandoned the app? I used to love it as an easy way to keep track of wine I liked. If they’re no longer supporting the product I wish they would at least let me know how to access the data of all the wine I had logged so I could dump it into a spreadsheet or new app. ### 3/5 — Good but could be better *2020-11-26, version 4.0.8* Bought this app a few years ago and it has served me well until the last few months. One of the best features of this app no longer works properly and tech support does not respond to repeated mails and info to fix. The online data base which helps you sort thru thousands of wines so you can quickly add wines to your cellar no longer functions. I believe the links are broken to some third party and that might be where the issue lies. But the developers have so far shown little interest in resolving this problem. ### 1/5 — Does not work on IPad with IOS 14.2 *2020-11-24, version 4.0.8* Fix it! ### 1/5 — It is not working *2020-11-22* Please all my wine data is in this app and it is not working anymore. The app does not open. **Developer response:** Thank you for reporting this, and we are sorry for the concern this caused. The app was built on an older codebase that became increasingly difficult to maintain, and a launch failure on a newer version of iOS therefore remained unresolved. Improved development tools have since allowed us to rebuild the app completely, and version 5.0 is built and tested against current versions of iOS, so it opens correctly again. If your data is still present on your device, updating the app rather than deleting it offers the best prospect of recovery. Should your wines not appear after updating, please contact us via Settings → About → Email Support, which is actively monitored, and we will assist you. Version 5.0 also includes Backup & Transfer and CSV export, so your cellar can be archived safely outside the app. ### 3/5 — Does not work with IPadOS 14.2 *2020-11-20, version 4.0.8* Installed iPadOS 14.2 and the app will not open. It just blows up. I used my iPhone to contact support to report the problem and so far no response. I tried using the link in the App Store for the app and the link takes you no where. You would think the support team would at least acknowledge the email if anyone is monitoring. The support for this app used to be superior, how things change. The App Store app is terrible. This is my third try to update this review. The support for this app is non existent, I waited two weeks, without one acknowledgement to the issue above I finally took it upon myself to delete and restall the app. Because I have this app updated on my iPhone the settings never were lost and the data was saved. I’ve raised the rating to 3. As long as app support continues this app may become obsolete on an iPad - IPhone iCloud, major issue. Also, the online search has not worked since iPadops 14 was introduced. I needed some brief assistance on how to upload to Dropbox, as I was not getting a complete download on new device. Tried contacting the developer seven times. Nothing. Zero, zilch. I purchased 100 more spaces, confirmed by the Apple App Store, after numerous attempts to proceed it continued to deny access and despite numerous emails to the developer there is no response. I needed to reinstall the app on my phone and it no longer recognises the spaces I have already purchased, ie the “restore” function does not work and I refuse to buy them again. Whilst unsupported I just used my iPad version, it no longer synching to my iPhone. With the very welcome rebuild things have been brought up to date and finally the app is delivering on its promise. I enjoy databases almost as much as I enjoy wine! ### 5/5 — Love this App! *2018-09-29, version 4.0.8* I've been using this Wine Cellar Database app for a year or two now and it's exactly what I've needed. Very customizable, I'm able to enter whatever information I want about each of the wines we have. I can sort wines, filter them, and add new ones easily. Regarding some comments by others about lost data, I can see where maybe that could happen if you don't regularly sync your database to the Dropbox cloud. But I do sync and while I've never lost any data, if I ever did I could restore it from Dropbox. Using Dropbox sync also lets me keep my iPad and iPhone apps databases the same. 5 stars from this very happy user! ### 5/5 — Excellent app *2018-06-23, version 4.0.8* This app was pretty much exactly what I was looking for to keep records of my wines. I love the filtering and grouping, allowing me to search my collection by any category. Customisable so you see the info you want to see. I created a field for “location” so I know where to find the wine, meaning I don’t have to search through my collection to find what I want. My only criticism would be that the online search only finds about half or less of the Australian wines I buy. Fast and easy to use, it's an outstanding tool to keep always your inventory updated, easy to manage and with several informations for each wine. Adding and deleting bottles from inventory is very simple. I particularly like the online bottle search system. A good deal of bottle information is loaded automatically, including label art if it is available. Extensive information for each bottle can be added manually if so desired. If you have a question or problem, customer service responds almost immediately. This is an excellent app for a beginning or serious wine collector. Absolutely love the new update!
