The wine estates are mostly unrecognisable so you won’t see familiar supermarket brands, but the is supposedly the real deal. I’ve only just ordered so not tasted mine yet. They made sure I could reorder the exact wines that were originally on special offer. The level of care and attention was impressive—every interaction felt personal and focused on resolving my issue. Only difference is I’ve already paid for everything in my basket less the shipping. I now buy my wines in 1s, 2s, 3s or 4s according to how I’m likely to want them delivered. When I need to restock my home wine store I simply go to my “basket” deselect everything I want Winedrops to continue to hold for me and check out the rest. I’m charged for the shipping and a couple of days later my wine arrives in time for any anticipated event or to restock my shelves. Winedrops continues to provide the best combination of information, prices and wine management. I occasionally have disturbed sleep where the guys are persuaded to sell out to one of the many faceless entities out there that’ll blend this excellent service into yet another bland online delivery option. Hopefully that won’t happen and I now buy wines elsewhere only when I’m away without stock and need a bottle unexpectedly. No way to cancel the purchase from my basket. They take card details as you open up them bill you for looking at the time ! They use a highly deceptive interface that does not have a normal shopping basket. The exact second you tap to "add" a bottle to your case to check the total price, your card is charged immediately. There is no checkout screen, no final total to review, and no payment confirmation. I was charged over £350 in the space of 10 minutes just by browsing and adding items to what I thought was a standard basket. On top of this, adding your card automatically signs you up for a paid annual membership subscription that is very poorly communicated. A completely misleading app design.
