## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.3.4 — 2026-10-07

A wine-country course, hearts and profile photos.

• Twelve country chapters: France, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Germany, Austria, the USA, Argentina, Chile, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa. Each one covers the big picture, the grapes, the key regions and how to read the label, with real photos of the places.
• Pick the countries you're most curious about. They join your course, and the rest wait for later.
• A friendlier start: the app asks about your level, your countries and your daily goal, then takes you straight to your first lesson.
• Hearts: you have 5 in lessons, and one comes back every two hours. Practice is always free, and Premium gives you unlimited hearts.
• Lessons show one thing at a time, and finishing one now shows your XP, accuracy and streak.
• Add a profile photo, and add a photo to any tasting from your camera or photo library.
• Comments no longer hide behind the keyboard, and the Journal opens on your friends.

### 1.3.3 — 2026-10-06

A fresh look for the course.

• Every unit has its own picture now, and it shows what the unit is about: white grapes on the vine for White grapes, a real Bordeaux label for Reading the label, a winemaker at work for How wine is made.
• No two units share a picture any more, and every picture is sharper.

### 1.3.2 — 2026-10-05

The story behind the bottle, the moment you scan it. And half stars.

• No more waiting screen: the result opens straight away on the photo you just took, and fills in while you read. Facts, taste and food first; the story arrives a few seconds later.
• The story behind the house: for the wineries people scan most, we have researched who they are, where they work and the detail worth remembering, and checked every fact. More houses are added as you scan.
• The region now fits your wine: a white from a red-wine region no longer gets the red wine's story.
• Serving tips and flavour notes in your own language.
• Half stars: tap the left half of a star for a half, or drag across the row.
• A Winelingo rating on every wine: once three people have rated a wine, the scan result shows everyone's average, for this vintage and for all vintages.
• Lessons that change every time: new questions on each play, shuffled answers, and "Nerd deeper" notes plus a bonus round in all 101 lessons.
• Your reminder, your time: choose when your daily reminder arrives, and switch each kind of notification on or off under Settings › Notifications.
• Friends: choose a unique @username so friends can find you, hear when a friend tastes something new (at most three a day, never at night), and invite links now open the app directly.

### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-30

Learning about wine now takes a few minutes a day, one short lesson at a time.

Explore is now Learn, in three parts:
• Course: 101 short, interactive lessons in 17 units, from tasting and grapes to France, Italy, Spain and the New World, food, faults and ageing, and wine at the table. Start any unit you like. Read a card, answer a question and see why straight away.
• Practice: a daily mix and five games, from where a grape comes from to guessing the grape from three clues. The eight wine tests live here too.
• Library: every grape, region, style, pairing and wine word, with new grape pages and an A–Z index.

Every scanned bottle is now a small lesson: why it tastes the way it does, tap a taste ring to learn what body, tannin, acidity and sweetness mean, what to eat with it, a quick question, and the grapes and region behind it.

Sharper tasting notes: pick from 80 specific aromas chosen for your bottle, so a red shows blackcurrant and cedar, and a white shows green apple and wet stone.

A cleaner, calmer look everywhere: headers that stay put as you scroll, a journal that puts your bottle photos first, and a friends feed where you can see what they're drinking and raise a glass.

A new Profile shows your streak, league, lessons, badges and course progress. Your palate passport opens full screen, ready to hand to the staff in a wine shop.

Lessons and practice earn XP towards a daily goal, your streak and the weekly league. Everything is in English, Danish, Spanish and German.

### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-28

Wine is better with friends.
• Add friends with a link, username or QR code, see what they're tasting, raise a glass and comment
• Weekly league: earn XP for lessons and tastings and race your friends to the top
• Friend streaks: keep a learning streak going together
• Taste Together: open a bottle with friends, taste blind if you like, then compare notes
• Share a tasting as a story card

New: wine tests. Eight 10-question tests on serving, grapes, food pairing, labels, sparkling wine and wine faults, with an explanation after every answer. Find them in Explore.

Smarter wine-list scans: choose red, white, rosé or sparkling and get picks ranked for your palate in that colour. Longer wine lists are read too.

Only friends you accept can see your tastings, and you can keep any tasting private.
