Update: thanks for the response. I had deleted the app but I re-downloaded and tried again and I can score. Gave it a shot and decided to purchase. Great app 😊 ### 5/5 — Can’t Play Without It *2022-11-12* I almost never review apps, but my partner and I play Oceania’s Automarazzi co-op mode all the time (over 70 games at this point), and we couldn’t imagine not playing with WingMate. The ability to run Automa with just a few taps, without having to worry about keeping track of their supply, round cards, Automa deck, etc is such a time saver. Outside of just Automa, WingMate is by far the best way to score your games. Beats the Stonemaier scoring app by a landslide, and all other unofficial apps. Just pressing the numbers to add together your bird point values is so nice. The design and feel of the app is also perfectly aesthetically aligned with the game, and fits right on the table beside your player mat. You’d think it’s official. The app is also still updating (Asia expansion functionality on its way), so you can expect a purchase to last. Only feature I’d love to see would be an option to save the records of your games within the app. You can very conveniently take a screenshot of the final scoreboard, but my screenshots folder is getting a bit big 😅 Plus it might be nice to have that tied in with some player stats function (i.e. highest score ever, most cards ever tucked, most food ever cached, etc.). That’s all just bonus features though—the app does what it’s supposed to, and does is perfectly. All in all, if you’re not opposed to introducing a phone to the table during Wingspan time, get this app!! My husband played an AMAZING game! Come to find out, there’s no way of saving your scores. No archive of past victories or category leaders. This app would be SO much more interesting and useful if it could store and track high scores. I would have paid more for that. My only advice for the developers is to state exactly which scores you are asking us to input. For example, instead of just a picture to indicate what we are scoring, also include “Tucked Cards” in the header. I have played waaaay too many games and therefore know myself what it is you’re asking for but think this could be super helpful for others. Hope you take this into consideration. Thanks so much and what a fabulous job you’ve done with this app! (I read another reviewer mentioning it would be helpful to save scores for a running tally to calculate the biggest scorer overall; that would be awesome!) ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Added a paywall after 2.5 years?? *2024-11-30* I’ve had WingMate companion for 2.5 years. Free app...great features. Then they added a paywall. You can’t add a paywall for zero new features after you’ve been giving away your app for years. I should be grandfathered in to the previous version where it was free because it’s literally always been free. Awful developers. You should be ashamed of yourself. **Developer response:** Sorry you are seeing this. The app has always only allowed scoring for one player without unlocking the app. ### 1/5 — 17.4? *2024-03-14, version 2.2.3* Was working like a champ and with the latest update crashing during gameplay. anyone else seeing this? ### 1/5 — App doesn’t work and keep crashing *2024-03-09, version 2.2.3* Impossible to generate a game against automa without the application crashing. It's frustrating to be asked to pay for an app that doesn't work on new iOS devices, this is theft. I won't be renewing after this 7-day free trial. I suggest you don't download and pay anything for this app, you can find a free automa online! It's a shame because I thought the idea of an app was good. I’m honestly not sure what it’s supposed to do. It also charged me much more than the noted amount when I unlocked a couple of things (~$36). This seems to be a complete scam, so don’t get misled into buying it.
