There’s no option to see what your password is for the account and trying to reset my forgotten one has become a nightmare. I’m almost ready to ditch WingX and move on to something new but I’ll try for a while longer. ### 2/5 — Never updated *2025-02-05, version 9.2.5.185* They used to provide a fee free option for a cfi but recently took that away. Since it was free, I had the app installed and every so often would check if there were ever updates to work smoother. Nope. Not sure what their target is for this app, but it isn’t very useful I think the intent of giving out a cfi free version is we would show others such as the students, and they would like what they see and subscribe. I never had a single person choose it, when both foreflight and garmin pilot are full feature apps, that are updated so they actually continue to work. This is a palm pilot based design, and it shows. Only has 2 stars for the former ability to show to others for free, but I’d give it one or less now since they don’t even offer that. ### 4/5 — No terrain profile button/view on iPhone *2024-01-03, version 9.2.3* It would be great to add terrain profile button to iPhone app. It exists in iPad but absent for some reason in iPhone. However the feature is very convenient to estimate terrain profile on the route when planning. ### 2/5 — Where are the fuel prices? *2023-05-01, version 9.2.3* I love this app, but the fuel price option stopped working in the free version. Went for the $75.00 paid version. Still no fuel prices!? What do I have to do to get fuel prices?? If you change your policy on that, figure out a way to let users know please. ### 2/5 — Disappointed *2020-10-29, version 9.1.8* I’ve been using WingX for many years now but their development has really fallen down. After one of their major releases about a year ago, I needed to buy a new iPad to get their software to run. Also, the FAA added lightening strikes, icing, airmets, and other helpful weather info to their FIS-B broadcasts over 2 years ago I believe and WingX still is not able to show that information. Are you serious? To my mind WingX and Foreflight were the top EFB choices but now WingX is just another also ran-ran. ### 5/5 — Pleasantly surprised *2020-09-10, version 9.1.6* Extremely pleasant Lee surprised the features of this software reset the flow routing information on the left-hand side with the add and subtract routes dp, stars etc. very user-friendly. Works great when given stars in route, routing or changes in DP’s on the fly. ### 5/5 — WingX...Quality,Simplicity, Reliability *2020-08-08, version 9.1.5* Have been using WINGX VFR/IFR App for +13 years ### 2/5 — Poor customer service and support *2020-05-21, version 9.1.3* I was a long time user(12 years). Product worked well for the price. Recently upgraded to IFR and paid a 3 year subscription. On a 1200 mile cross country my weather would not work so I called “tech support “. Told them I was available for 2 days to fix the problem before my return flight. No solution and then they quit answering the phone and my emails. After return flight with no weather, I get some emails from the owner of the app trying to help. Still no joy. I asked for refund, no response. Do yourself a favor and use another EFB other than WingX! ### 5/5 — Great App! *2020-05-17, version 9.1.3* -Recommend Take Off mins sorted by airport ident (like in aero app), time consuming to page to all the take off -1 -2 etc to find the airport needed. -Recommend Dod flip data for Korea (and world PAA, EEA, etc). I have to switch back to aero app every time I deploy. -Add AHRS / HUD / synth vision for aero app. -I have to carry aero and wingx both to get all the features I need please cross level between the two apps or have a DOD setting / database for military wingx users who have NGA accounts. For the past 6 months the weather radar has been inoperative on the map view.I have contacted support seven times about the issue. It’s still not working. My friends maps aren’t working either they are all going to foreflight. I’m adding one star. Keep it up WingX, you can make your way back to the top. Despite the glitz of ForeFlight, WingX was my preferred app. The information display was easier to use in flight, and the split-screen function is amazing. This app was designed for flight and I introduced it to many of my students. With this update WingX seems to be back in the game. A number of annoying bugs fixed. Tried to contact support by email, by phone, never returned my messages. The app was nice for me but support is nonexistent ### 1/5 — A hoax and a con. Buy Foreflight. *2025-02-12, version 9.2.5.185* I paid for what was advertised as the $75 per year advanced IFR, but after they took my money, I discovered that I have to pay $75 twice ($150) to get it. A con and a hoax in my opinion. Get foreflight and be happier… I want my money back! ### 1/5 — Update. Weather feed down again *2023-04-20, version 9.2.3* GEO referencing is down now. When they sent out the new database update, there apparently was an error that caused you referencing to fail.I called Support and it would seem the only support is over email. If you’re stuck in a place that has crappy Internet service you’re kind of screwed the bottom line is too many errors, too many issues, for this to be considered a professional pilot quality app.If you’re an occasional pilot and don’t mind some downtime in your EFB, then this app should be fine for you. However, if you are a professional, and your performance, depends on this app, running reliably, you may want to consider something else. I am. Don’t waste your time with this app. There are no VFR sectionals for Canada. If you want a low cost alternative, stick with FltPlan Go. To bad, I like to support these smaller outfits. ### 1/5 — Seriously buggy interface, beware! *2021-02-25, version 9.2.0* I regret to have to write this unflattering review about my experience with the wing X app. Last week I downloaded it to my iPad as I am a student pilot. I attempted to purchase a database subscription and encountered an error message only after the purchase had processed through the App Store. I thought it was related to the subscribing email address not matching my Apple ID so correct that, purchased again, and encountered the same error message. It turns out that the moronic web developers who have written wing X did not first create a sign in or register screen, and they did not allow me to register for an account before excepting my purchase attempt. This is just crazy and unacceptable. I had to seek A refund for the first purchase through the Apple store. I have written to Hilton, the company that is responsible for the wing X app, and will see how they respond. In my opinion, the user interface is terrible, offensively bad in that it does not request user account creation or login before permitting access to interior screens including purchase selections. Hopefully they will fix this. If not, there are other excellent map and navigation apps for student pilots that I would consider using instead. ### 1/5 — Can’t login to use it *2021-01-10, version 9.1.9* I can’t login using the trial period. It won’t come off the login screen. Too much crap on this screen. There is no Login button. I deleted it since I couldn’t get pass the confusing login screen. ### 1/5 — Didn’t track at all in flight *2020-08-28, version 9.1.5* I messed with it and learned how to use it on the ground and then took it flying, not once would it track us on the ground or in the air. Wasn’t even close to being accurate on the airport diagram either. Used on an iPad. ### 1/5 — Disappointed with upgraded software not compatible with current Ipad *2020-04-19, version 9.1.3* Been using WingX for many years. One year ago I purchased the 3 year software package through the app store. Hilton made no mention of the hardware upgrade that is necessary for the software. Now in order to have legal FAA current charts and airport information Hilton has advised me in order to use their App, like I have for 5 years, I must go purchase another upgraded iPad ! This upgraded software move did not happen until I was 10 months to a year into my 3 year subscription. Now, I contact Hilton to ditch their App and go purchase Foreflight and Hilton says sorry no refund from them ! Nonsense, Hilton should have advised me of this major change in their product that rendered my current Ipad useless to fly with, or, refunded part of my 3 year subscription money!!! Not happy! ### 1/5 — Updated into useless version *2020-03-24, version 9.1.2* This was a great app and used it for years until they 'upgraded' it to the point that the iOS requirement now exceeds my iPad model. Like Windows if I want to use this now I have to buy new equipment. A common programmer mistake. They should offer a legacy version so we don't have to ditch it and find another product. Thank You WingX ### 5/5 — WingX CFI Program *2024-03-23* I’ve used the WingX CFI free subscription program for several years and I commend them for having this program and supporting flight instructors. However this year when I attempted to renew the subscription I have not heard from Hilton Software. Their online support form does not work and they do not answer the phone. I am curious if they are still in business and hopefully they will see this review and confirm that this app is still good. I gave 5 stars because it has been a good program, however I do not recommend that anyone purchase the software now since there seems to be no support. ### 5/5 — wing x pro *2023-12-03, version 9.2.3* i have used this app for several years fly often always showed t f r restrictions real time since i operate out of and in the DCA NY and KILG wilmington (biden) air space. easy to use and great for flight planning. thr IFR extra is worth it too incase your panel goes off. even had one situation where my encoder was showing a decent while ifr, atc was alarmed and the altimiter and wass altitude read out on wing x showed my actual altitude so it was a no brainer. i have no complaints. like it a lot. ### 5/5 — Don’t waste your money on ForeFlight *2023-11-07, version 9.2.3* This does everything for flight does and more and it’s simple and to the point and priced about west they all should be charging not what they think they can get pricing like outer company’s like for flight are doing ### 5/5 — Map is not working. *2022-09-14, version 9.2.1.38* Can not use the app with the new update OS 16.
