## What is Winnipeg Know Your Zone?

Use this Official City of Winnipeg app to find your residential street snow zone, as well as info about when your street will be plowed during a residential parking ban. 
 
A residential parking ban is called to facilitate the City’s snow clearing response to an extreme snowfall. All residential streets are assigned a snow zone; each snow zone is identified by a letter of the alphabet. Zones are plowed in 12-hour shifts, around-the-clock. Parking is only prohibited on residential streets during the 12-hour period when a zone is scheduled for clearing.

The app is terrible. Notifications don’t work. App feels and looks 15 years old. Winnipeg makes it hard to know where you can and can’t park on purpose. Makes sense for the city that has speed cameras in construction zones when no construction work is being done. Do NOT rely on this app as you have a high chance to receive a ticket or even worse towed.

If I could rate it zero I would. Never ever updated us to let us know what zone is currently doing snow removal. Kinda the point of the app right??  I have to google city of Winnipeg and go from there. And the website has the audacity to mention “use the app” to what end?? Terrible

This app sucks. It’s the only app on my whole phone that has the full notification settings on. And I’ve never received a single notification. The city forces you to use this then never maintains or fixes it, they’re basically running a scam.

You can check it every day and it’ll still be wrong. Got a $150 ticket for posting on my street but according to this app, I was fine to park there.

The main purpose of this got for me is to find out when my street will be ploughed after a significant snowfall. This does nothing to help with that. It provides codes without a legend making them irrelevant and indecipherable and providing no ranking and no timeline in context to provide any assistance in getting your car out of the garage. A perfect example of when government makes an app.  I’m sure they prioritized diversity over competence.
