I’d already paid too and when I rebooked by phone I was Told it would be refunded and I’d need to pay the new driver directly, Which I did. Given that the big apps like Uber invented all the key functionality years ago, there is no reason not to offer similar levels of service. My only fault with it is that the tracking screen doesn’t seem to live update, and you can’t come back out of the tracking screen on an iPhone without closing down the app. ### 5/5 — Easy to use app. *2019-01-27, version 12.20.1* Regularly gets me from A to B with no fuss, card or cash never a problem. Thanks Wintax!! ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — App is terrible *2025-05-30, version 35.1.9* Whenever I try to book a taxi using the app it defaults to the wrong postcode for my address. It doesn’t matter how many times you put the correct address in, it will automatically change the address when you book. Pointless using the app as you then have to phone the office to give the correct address. I’ve reported this several times, but Wintax don’t seem to be bothered. ### 1/5 — Won’t let me pay *2024-04-14, version 34.5.10* Says card declined or Apple Pay declined I have enough money in my account and have done all the approved bits through both the app and on my bank and still won’t work! ### 1/5 — Hopeless app *2023-11-30, version 34.5.10* Not easy to use. Difficult to set pick up point as it keeps defaulting to your geographic position. Not helpful when I’m trying to book a collection at Winchester station and it picks my location on the train near Woking. Also difficult to edit my favourite/home address. Keeps defaulting to another address in the area. Also slow to start up. ### 1/5 — Great service, but terrible app. *2020-12-23, version 32.1.19* Great service but occasionally I forget my password, when I ask to reset my password it tells me that it’s been sent to my email. When I check it hasn’t been sent. I feel like there’s no human being checking the service and I find it frustrating when it doesn’t send me a link to reset my password and my debit card is linked to app and I have to call the office to book a cab and sometimes I do t have cash in hand to pay. If they actually sent me a link to reset my password I would give them 5 stars. ### 1/5 — Great idea; dreadful execution *2018-06-10, version 12.20.1* As Uber doesn’t exist in Winchester yet, a convenient app should be very useful. And the concept is very Uber like. But the app is terrible. Crashes constantly. Get it fixed and it will be very useful. As it is, it’s rubbish. ### 1/5 — Unusable *2018-01-16, version 12.13* Crashes when you try to input the destination. Tried several times but always crashes. I am running latest iOS on a brand new iPhone. ### 1/5 — Card booking option gone *2017-09-29, version 12.13* The old app had a card payment option built in, but this seems to be missing on this new version. This makes the process of getting a taxi a lot less convenient, as payment by card isn’t automatic. Shame, as the old app gave Uber like payment functionality and this is cash only. Backward step. ### 2/5 — Rude Driver *2024-09-20, version 34.6.17* The Driver was rude, I was on my way back from my work and it was very dark on my route so I missed seeing turn to my house since there aren't any street lights in sleepers hill. Although I was on phone but my eyes were on the road all the way trying not to miss but as I said it was very dark. The driver rudely told me ‘Madam it happened because you were on your phone’ in a very demeaning manner, I told him my attention was on road but he didn't budge and went quiet At the end of the day, I dont mind getting extra charged if the driver has to retake a route because I missed it, I am the one getting charged anyways. Nothing gives anyone the audacity to be rude. Please don’t send him again if I book your service. Thanks ### 2/5 — Clunky *2019-10-09, version 32.1.8* Clunky app, requires registration for no obvious reason, no tracking of taxi once booked. Not even confident it had been booked! Save your time and call on +44 1962 878727. ### 3/5 — On time but….. *2025-06-16, version 36.0.9* My taxi was at 4am and the driver was bang on time. From there he wasn’t sure where he was going , charged me more than the fixed rate I’d agreed in hooking and then started to drive off whilst I was still taking my bags out of the boot! My bus didn’t turn up and within four minutes Amazing Wyntax sent me a taxi .
