Causing the Extend to crash *2023-04-09, version 1.0.32349* Outdated platform and no longer compatible to the newer iOS devices... Loading extremely slow and will cause the Extend extension on your PC to crash... ### 2/5 — Out if date software *2019-03-18, version 1.0.32349* Pros: once connected works well even on weak signal with a nice and clear picture. Cons: Very slow at connecting to channels! Clunky out of date software. No EPG or details on listing. No rewind or forwards option on paused shows or even recorded strangely. All in all it does what it say on the tin, but just poorly. Please update, its well over due! ### 2/5 — Easy to Setup, Won’t Work *2018-11-09, version 1.0.32349* I can get the app to come up in a local connection only on my iPhone 8. But, about 30 seconds will play and then start over.. it will keep doing that until I end the app. SAD! Ongoing need to use workarounds e.g. when you close the app, server remains with its CPU maxed out transcoding for no good reason, so you need to kill the app and then restart it again to get the server to stop. Switching channels needs to be done twice, the first time it doesn’t really take and instead of the new channel the old one comes up again. Very preventable nuisances that make for an awful user experience. ### 1/5 — Do not upgrade to IOS 11 *2017-10-05, version 1.0.32349* Upgraded to ios 11. App doesn’t work properly now. After a couple of minutes, video feed shows QuickTime logo and starts playing previous few minutes of show. Please fix. However, the web streaming for WinTV Extend in the browser works fine, so I question the need for this nonfunctional app. ### 2/5 — Lots of potential but… *2017-01-02, version 1.0.32349* But poor execution. The support for the media server is poor, and configuration can be difficult based on your hardware. For me the mobile app only works on my local network. Channels don't display when connected outside my network, and the app will crash after a few seconds even though they display fine when using a pc/browser. Seeing as it's been a few years since this app has been updated, the technology is clearly not a priority for the vendor. ### 4/5 — actually seems to work *2016-09-18, version 1.0.32349* update 9/2016: I downloaded the new version of the app, went outside with the ipad2 and I'm actually streaming an NFL game on my patio. it's a good HD stream too. it's only over wi-fi, haven't tried internet yet. this has surprisingly surpassed my expectations based on awful previous experiences. of note I'm using the newest wintv Windoze client 8.1 iirc. ## Frequently asked questions about WinTV Extend ### What does WinTV Extend do?
