Big issue is that you can't fast forward or position the playback. So if the stream fails, you have to go back to the beginning of the recording. This makes the application unusable for viewing recordings if connection is less than perfect. ### 2/5 — Not quite *2015-11-22, version 1.0.32349* The latest version is not downloading when I try to update from the latest version in Apple Store. In addition the video is not clearly displaying with severe pixelation. I have the latest Windows 10 OS running HVR-2255 device. When I play any channel on my iPad it looks great, when I play any channel on my iPhone, I get the spinning iPhone circle in the middle of the screen into perpetuity. ### 1/5 — Getting this App for Free is even to much *2015-07-10, version 1.0.32349* In a few words this Ap accompanies the equally disgusting Hauppauge Win TV which comes with Microsoft's horrendous Windows 8. This whole debacle replaced the incredible, ahead of it's time Windows Media Centre which in it's backward thinking MS decided to stop any support. This App has never been updated in all the time I've had to suffer it. Hauppauge should simply just go away. Total rubbish, buy a Mac if you have to use this rubbish ### 1/5 — Junk App *2015-03-31, version 1.0.32349* Assuming the app doesn't immediately crash when you open it, you'll quickly realize that it won't render video in landscape format and will only show the screen portrait (regardless of the iPad position). Fortunately, rotating the iPad generally results in the app crashing anyway. I was hoping the recent update to WinTV 8 might have helped but it didn't. I can't use the web app since it it uses flash. Fixes the issues I had with rotating the device while playing live tv. Now works well. ### 4/5 — actually seems to work *2016-09-18, version 1.0.32349* update 9/2016: I downloaded the new version of the app, went outside with the ipad2 and I'm actually streaming an NFL game on my patio. it's a good HD stream too. it's only over wi-fi, haven't tried internet yet. this has surprisingly surpassed my expectations based on awful previous experiences. of note I'm using the newest wintv Windoze client 8.1 iirc. ### 4/5 — Extend *2016-03-02, version 1.0.32349* When it works it's great. Depends on the download I think. Uninstall. Reinstall ### 3/5 — Lotsa bugs *2017-11-27, version 1.0.32349* I’ve been able to get this to work over a local network but the app is pretty clunky. Ongoing need to use workarounds e.g. when you close the app, server remains with its CPU maxed out transcoding for no good reason, so you need to kill the app and then restart it again to get the server to stop. Switching channels needs to be done twice, the first time it doesn’t really take and instead of the new channel the old one comes up again. Very preventable nuisances that make for an awful user experience. ### 3/5 — Missing Functions *2015-12-17, version 1.0.32349* No scheduler or record options on iOS9.2 iPad. Can stream channels or watch previously recorded video, but cannot schedule a recording or record a channel you are watching. These functions were present on iOS 7. Also, cuts off after so many minutes while using the website URL site instead of app. ### 3/5 — Bad app *2015-02-12, version 1.0.32349* I have two Hauppauge systems, a 1255 inside an old desktop and just got a new Broadway for another house. The Extend app works as described but with the Broadway, it doesn't work with an iPad. I called tech support and they were unaware of the problem. They checked it with their iPad with the same results. Think would have done that before the released it. Three stars for the 1255, the other two when they get the iPad problem fixed. ### 2/5 — Out if date software *2019-03-18, version 1.0.32349* Pros: once connected works well even on weak signal with a nice and clear picture. Cons: Very slow at connecting to channels! Clunky out of date software. No EPG or details on listing. No rewind or forwards option on paused shows or even recorded strangely. All in all it does what it say on the tin, but just poorly. But, about 30 seconds will play and then start over.. it will keep doing that until I end the app. SAD! The support for the media server is poor, and configuration can be difficult based on your hardware. For me the mobile app only works on my local network. Channels don't display when connected outside my network, and the app will crash after a few seconds even though they display fine when using a pc/browser.
