## What is Wird App?

Wird — a daily Quran reading habit, built like the habit-forming apps you already love.

"Wird" means a regular portion of Quran recitation — a beautiful old word for exactly what this app helps you build: a real, lasting daily reading habit.

**Daily reading, your way**
- Read in Arabic, English, or both side by side
- Choose from multiple authentic Arabic fonts and adjust the text size to what's comfortable for you
- Listen to recitation with the current ayah highlighted as it plays — audio works even with your phone on silent
- Keep reading offline — pages and audio you've read stay cached on your device

**Streaks that actually reflect your reading**
- Your streak only counts a day once you've spent real time reading — not just tapping a button
- Miss one day a week? An automatic streak freeze protects you
- See your longest streak, total pages read, and how many times you've completed the whole Quran (khatm)

**Study & practice**
- Learn the 99 Names of Allah, with meaning and Arabic script
- Read a curated collection of daily duas for everyday moments
- Quiz yourself on the Quran's most common words, the 99 Names, the daily duas, and general Islamic trivia — every correct answer earns a point
- A 50-point daily cap keeps practice about learning, not repetition

**Read together**
- Add friends by username and start a shared streak — you both need to read your page each day to keep it alive
- Nudge a friend who hasn't read yet
- See friends' and global leaderboards, ranked by points, with league tiers from Bronze to Diamond

**Track your progress**
- A visual Juz map shows exactly how far you've come in your current cycle through the Quran
- Daily reminders help you keep your streak alive
- A weekly recap shows how much you read and how many points you earned

Whether you're memorizing, brushing up on vocabulary, or just trying to read a little every day, Wird is built to make consistency feel achievable — and rewarding.

## Version history (last 2 releases)

### 1.1.0 — 2026-08-28

What's New in This Version

New: Khatam Al-Quran Groups — Under the Social tab, create a group of up to 30 people to finish the entire Quran together. Invite friends or family, set a deadline, and everyone gets randomly assigned their share of the 30 juz to read at their own pace. Track everyone's progress, get notified the moment your group completes a Khatam, and start a new one together anytime.

More reciters, and your choice actually sticks — Added Abdurrahman As-Sudais, Saud Al-Shuraym, Ali Al-Hudhaify, Maher Al Muaiqly, and Ahmed Al-Ajamy. Your preferred reciter (set at signup or anytime from Profile) now applies to all audio playback across the app.

Fixes based on your feedback:

Fixed buttons getting cut off at the top of the reading screen on smaller iPhones
Added a small "back to home" link under Mark Page Complete for easier navigation
Fixed streaks showing a stale number after a missed day — now resets right away
Fixed streak counts sometimes disappearing across the Quran, Leaderboard, and Profile screens
