## What is Wird?

Wird helps you read a portion of the Quran every day. That's the whole idea — "wird" (ورد) means a daily portion of Quran, and everything in this app exists to make that portion easy to start and easy to keep up.

Open Wird for the first time and you are already on a mushaf page, reading. One question — how much time do you have each day? — and your plan is ready. Everything else is optional.

DAILY PLAN & KHATMAH
- Pick a named plan — a juz' a day, a page a day, a khatmah in a month, a Ramadan khatmah — or shape your own. Daily portions stop at real recitation boundaries: ruku', surah, juz', or page.
- Shape your week: press a day to make it heavier — Fridays can carry more, workdays less — and the finish date holds still.
- A small rosette in the page margin marks where today's portion ends. Reach it, tap "I finished here", and the day is closed.
- The khatmah's path chart draws your plan against your actual reading and says it plainly: on schedule, ahead, or behind — in days, never in guilt.
- Rukhsa (grace) days forgive what life takes; a missed day never becomes a debt.
- Gentle, optional reminders, plus Sunnah rhythms: Al-Kahf on Fridays, Al-Mulk at night.

YOUR READING, CHARTED
- A presence heatmap of the last three months — one glance says you showed up.
- Day by day: four weeks of bars in pages, minutes, or words; tap any day to inspect it; Fridays glow gold.
- Your sittings: see which of your six daily sittings — after Fajr through before sleep — carries your reading.
- A hasanat estimate counted the way the hadith counts: by the letter.

RECITATION READ-ALONG
- Tap play and follow along as each word highlights in time with the recitation.
- Choose from 7 respected reciters: Mishary Alafasy, Abdul-Rahman As-Sudais, Abdul Basit Abdus-Samad, Mahmoud Khalil Al-Husary (standard and a slower teaching style), Mohamed Siddiq El-Minshawi, and Saad Al-Ghamdi.
- Download a surah or juz' for offline listening, or stream on demand. Works from the lock screen and Control Center like any audio app.

A REAL MUSHAF
- 604 pages, 15 lines each, true justification, and tajweed coloring — rendered from authentic KFGQPC font and layout data, not a reflowed approximation.
- Page mode or continuous scroll, adjustable text size, and Paper, Sepia, and Night reading palettes.
- Arabic-first, right-to-left throughout.
- A calm reading flow: let the page scroll or turn itself at your pace, with a gentle heads-up before every turn.

NOTES, HIGHLIGHTS & SEARCH
- Highlight ayahs, add personal notes, and share any ayah as a beautiful image.
- Search the Quran, and read alongside translation and tafsir editions.

OFFLINE & PRIVATE BY DEFAULT
- Wird works fully offline as a guest — read, build a khatmah, and listen, and nothing leaves your device.
- Sign in only if you want your reading to follow you across devices — read on your phone, pull down on your iPad to catch up. It's never required.

Content provenance (KFGQPC/QUL fonts, text, and recitation data) is credited in-app under About.

## Version history (last 4 releases)

### 1.6.0 — 2026-09-14

When your wird ends, the page stays put.
The page used to jump back to its top when a wird was complete or when Al-Kahf was finished. It now moves only by your hand or by انسياب. At the closing ayah a gold seal blooms behind the ayah number and settles, so you can see where your day ended without anything interrupting your reading. And when you finish Al-Kahf or Al-Mulk, the reader asks whether to go back to the surah's beginning: say yes and a fresh reading starts from its first ayah, with your kept reading untouched.

And "Your reading" is a new screen.
• The last seven days: the days you were present, your minutes, and where the week stands against your own weekly average — yours, no one else's.
• Your presence: a twelve-week map with weekday rows and month names, Al-Kahf Fridays ringed in gold.
• Day by day: a seven-day average line over the bars, with a date axis.
• Your reading times: your day as a ribbon of six sittings, and your habitual hour.
• This month: pages and time against the same days of last month, sittings and their median, and your pace — minutes per page, and how many days a khatmah takes at that pace.
• The Sunnahs: which Fridays held Al-Kahf, which nights held Al-Mulk.
• Your khatmahs: the active one with its day and verdict, completed ones with their dates and length.
• Milestones: each one you have reached, and the day you reached it.

### 1.5.0 — 2026-09-05

A page counts only once you have read it. Flipping past a page no longer records it, time spent outside the app is not counted as reading, and the page you are standing on shows faintly on the progress track until it is earned.

Al-Kahf and Al-Mulk now begin at the start of the surah in each new period, and the header names the week or night you are reading. A glance at the last page no longer marks the week as read.

The page now fills the width of the screen: narrower margins and larger text on smaller devices, always centred. The landscape mushaf also fills both pages again without cropping.

### 1.4.0 — 2026-09-02

On iPad: a mushaf that fills the page. In landscape the facing pages now fill their lines instead of shrinking into the middle of the screen, and every other screen reads as a column rather than a line stretched edge to edge.

And today's wird asks for one day. Miss a few days and they no longer pile into a single heavy task: today asks for one day's reading, and what you missed is kept — spread it over the days ahead, or move the finish date, whenever you like. Days are also genuinely equal now: they're divided by how much text they hold rather than by ayah count, so a khatmah no longer opens with its heaviest days.

Also in this update:
• In continuous scrolling, landscape now keeps a margin on both sides instead of running the text edge to edge.
• Peek: look at any page or surah, then return exactly where you were.
• In landscape: no more "not counting right now" while you read your own page, and your place survives switching between paged and continuous reading.
• انسياب tells you when the page turns next, and never goes quiet without saying so.
• Your rhythm map now shows what it means beside it: days read, total time, longest day.
• Your week shows the plan's real days — one number, not two.
• Deleting a reciter's downloads now asks first.
• Al-Fātiḥa and the opening of Al-Baqara stay whole at any text size.
• Declining notification permission no longer leaves a reminder switch on, promising something that will never arrive.
• Arabic-Indic digits everywhere, including reminder times.
