### 1/5 — App doesn’t open in iOS 17

*2023-09-28, version 33.4*

Since getting a new iPhone 15 running iOS 17, the app won’t open. Is the app now defunct? That would be a shame as simply having the magazine online was helpful.

### 2/5 — Poor app experience

*2023-07-08, version 33.4*

Instruction don't match UI and poor Ux. content is good though just poor deivery

### 1/5 — Download does not work

*2022-12-24, version 33.4*

The app serves one purpose: to download issues. I’ve yet to be able to download anything, despite reinstalling and re-authenticating my credentials multiple times.

### 1/5 — Login does not work

*2022-03-08*

I suscribed to the print + digital issue. I have a client number etc but it does not matter what I do, it is impossible to get access to my digital subscription.

When I enter the E-mail address and password, it says wrong E-mail or password. But when I enter the same E-mail with another password, it says subscription not found???

When I try to go through the "forgot password" process, nothing happens. I do not get an E-mail. Nothing.

The customer support does not respond to inqueries either.

Big disappointment so far. I hope that I will at least receive my print issues, since they have not arrived yet either but to be fair, it has only been something over a week and this can take time.

### 1/5 — Terrible

*2021-08-04, version 33.4*

Awful app. Won’t let you “get” the editions you want despite the option. Customer services don’t want to know. Print edition arrives days/weeks earlier than digital one. Makes no sense. Will be cancelling.

### 1/5 — Don’t bother

*2021-04-27, version 33.4*

Impossible to use on the iPhone. Conde Nast worse than useless. For a magazine which is meant to be technology focused this is unforgivable

### 1/5 — You should be a shamed

*2020-12-28, version 33.4*

Anyone working on this should be ashamed or they simply don’t care! It’s absolutely terrible for a pub focused on Tech. Save yourself the time, hassle and money. Buy something else.

### 1/5 — app support is terrible

*2020-11-28, version 33.4*

I had a digital subscription but couldn’t access any issues. Contacted conde Nast as directed on the app (contact for feedback) but they fobbed me off to apple and just listed a couple of internet links. Issue remains unresolved.Apple also of no help. So I just cancelled. Avoid.

### 1/5 — Scam

*2020-09-27, version 33.4*

Bought a subscription weeks ago and still not allowed access to any editions online and none received In the mail either. No decent answers from Conde Naste just that they have had “problems”. Paying full subscription cost with zero benefit. Avoid. Just buy it in the newsagent if you want a copy. Asked them more than once if it’s a scam and surprise surprise no answer...

### 1/5 — Keeps crashing

*2020-08-22, version 33.4*

Title says it all.

### 2/5 — Content is great but layout is terrible

*2020-06-04, version 33.4*

The layout of the iPhone app version it the worst I’ve ever seen, it’s almost like just the scanned version of the print issue. This means that you have to zoom in on each paragraph and move the page as you read it.
It’s such a shame because the content is great but the app makes reading unenjoyable.

### 1/5 — New update same story

*2020-03-18, version 33.4*

So the new update came in today. Unfortunately still no correction to the formatting issue. More than 2yrs and still no fix.

### 2/5 — Poor iPad Pro layout

*2020-03-04, version 33.3*

Having just purchased a shiny new iPad Pro I was excited to see how wired would look and feel in the hands of the spectacular device
The answer....

Poor, very poor. Pages do not fit properly within the frame. There is an annoying black menu bar at the top that refuses to disappear
The latest article has graphics and pictures obscuring the text, I could go on. For a technology publication this is unforgivable.

A far superior experience is viewing this on safari using the reader reader function

Come on wired / Conde get your act together.

If this doesn’t improve I will be cancelling my subscription in favour of a more advanced technology publication.

### 1/5 — I never write reviews but...

*2020-02-01, version 33.3*

This is a joke. The app was excellent way back when now it’s unreadable on iPhone and an appalling experience on iPad

### 3/5 — PDF viewing only

*2020-01-26, version 33.3*

Would be good to have a ‘text reader’ facilty rather than having to zoom in constantly.

### 1/5 — Login issues

*2019-12-03, version 33.3*

I’ve been a print subscriber for years but it’s a pain to login through the app. Support is slow. This is Wired. You guys are supposed to be get UX.

### 1/5 — What happened to the formatting?!

*2019-11-28, version 33.3*

The digital print versions of Wired magazine both on iPad and iPhone have lost all the slick formatting that I have come to enjoy, and to a certain extent, come to expect from a technology heavy magazine such as this. So it has become frustrating to reading a magazine in the format of essentially a flat PDF, and I am questioning whether I will continue with my subscription unless Wired sort it out! The content is still world-class, but the pleasure of reading it has been hampered.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — The worst app

*2025-03-02, version 33.9*

As much as I enjoy the content Wired provides, using this poorly designed app is a terrible experience!

Trying to link the app with my subscription account—two things that seem completely separate—has proven impossible. Now, when I’m already frustrated and just want to delete the app and cancel my subscription, that also seems impossible!

I’m hugely disappointed.

### 1/5 — Conde Nast Ruined Wired

*2025-02-12, version 33.9*

Ever since Wired was sold to Conde Nast, it’s been downhill for the publication. First, the paper issues became thinner and then even thinner. Ads and product “reviews” filled up the pages that before had proper news coverage. Now even the digital version of the magazine is suffering too, with subscription issues and a cumbersome system that’s intended to sell you other magazines but fails to provide the one you actually want to subscribe to. Hard to say if Wired magazine still has a future. Things are looking pretty bleak.

### 1/5 — No syncing across platforms

*2025-02-03, version 33.9*

No synced data across platforms. Logged into my account on the browser and saved an article but it doesn’t appear in the app in my saved. Makes it challenging to read on the go

### 1/5 — Amateur, unprofessional, very limited functionality and …

*2025-01-31, version 33.9*

Mostly adverts and lacking any content list. An outstanding example of how NOT to do stuff online. Ironic as it’s Wired and blows any credibility they had. Perhaps most Conde Naste magazines are mostly adverts? I had to pay 2x for this app and it barely works at all and when it does it’s a big battle to find any interesting content.
Strongly not recommended.
How can they do something so badly and live with themselves?
I mean conde naste and wired.
Have they never considered employing someone with a clue to sort this unusable heap of total *rap out?

### 1/5 — Insane text options

*2024-12-27, version 33.8*

You can have tiny or MASSIVE and nothing in between. Good luck. Oh and the pricing strategy and international alignment is a mess.

### 1/5 — Login fails

*2024-12-08, version 33.8*

Tried to login to my subscriber account, app email a link, the link when followed cause a “link not valid error’

### 1/5 — Still doesn’t work

*2024-06-29, version 33.8*

This app is broken. As others have said the app on both iPad and iPhone refuses to recognise your subscription if you have both print and digital.

It should come with a warning at least, Apple should remove the app.

### 1/5 — Problems

*2024-04-07, version 33.7*

The app keeps forgetting my subscription and doesn’t remember that I am logged in.

### 1/5 — Hang on a mo - its not half bad

*2024-02-14, version 33.6*

2023 update… this feels old now.. a bad pdf reader type experience.

NB: The December 2010 issue of Wired magazine on iPad was a one-off publication. Regular iPad versions of Wired will begin in 2011. Having read the US version this was more than welcome. Its cheaper than the print version and has some nice interactive content as well as the usual. The imagery looks great (mostly) and the portrait to landscape stuff works well; if users are having issues they should take time to read the instructions before they complain here. Bravo chaps and chapesses. Suggestions - The ability to back up editions, I might not want to carry around a full years worth and I don't want to have to download an edition more than once if I fancy having a read of it again in a few months. Additional streaming of content might be an idea to reduce the massive size / bulk out the content Background downloads - half a gig is a long wait.

### 1/5 — No more iPad app?

*2023-10-01, version 33.4*

Cannot get this to open any longer. Reinstalling does nothing. What’s happened?

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Not perfect.

*2024-08-14, version 33.8*

But not bad.

### 5/5 — First issue

*2021-02-13, version 33.4*

I appreciate ability to keyword search an issue and share an article of special interest to me.

### 5/5 — Oh what have you done!

*2018-06-09, version 33.2*

Used to be great, now doesn’t fit screen and no details to index. Very hard to read whereas before it was a joy.

### 5/5 — Best overall tech update magazine

*2017-08-16, version 33.1*

Wired is inclusive of current tech trends and future possibilities in tech applications. The editorial is spot on with articles of interest to a general tech and non tech audience. Great publication!

### 5/5 — Love it

*2017-08-13, version 33.1*

Gotta have it. A must

### 5/5 — A magazine that stays on top of NOW, TODAY, and the FUTURE.

*2017-07-01, version 33.1*

A magizine i still buy at the newsstand!

### 5/5 — Keepin' up with the Jetsons

*2017-07-01, version 33.1*

This magazine is addictive. They make science and technology entertaining and impart valuable information at the same time. I will be a subscriber for many more years.

### 5/5 — Fantastic

*2013-01-06, version 2.9.0.22.63646*

Completely baffled by comments below. Have subscribed for a year, never a problem with it on ipad 2. When finshed reading, archive, and download next issue. Everything a digital mag should be: hotlinks, video and audio streaming, works a treat. Massive download can be a bit slow, but hey, thats Australian dinosaur bandwidth. Never has shutdown and opens at the page I was last reading. All this and the best cutting edge reading on idws in the business. Love it.

### 4/5 — Not full screen

*2020-01-19, version 33.3*

Great magazine and good price, can’t fault that, but I wish it was full screen, or at least I can’t figure out how to get there. This means the page is cropped and I have to scroll to see what’s at the bottom of the page.

### 4/5 — Annoying

*2017-07-07*

I Read an article get half way through the page, have to leave the app then go back and it resets to the all magazines page! Why do I have to reopen the magazine and find where I left it! So annoying! What's the point in reading through the app!
