## What is WireLingo?

WIRELINGO: BUILD REAL FLUENCY THROUGH REAL NEWS, GRADED TO YOUR LEVEL.

Textbooks teach you the rules. WireLingo gets you fluent through real news, graded to your level.

Every story is genuine journalism, rewritten at different levels so a beginner and an advanced learner can read the same headline, each at a difficulty that suits them. No drills, no fake dialogues, no textbook clichés. Just the world's stories in the language you're learning, written so you can actually follow them.

GRADED NEWS, WRITTEN FOR EVERY LEVEL
This is the heart of WireLingo: real news, professionally graded from beginner to advanced, so the language always matches where you are. Whether you're at A1 or C1, you're reading the same story everyone else is reading, just written at a level you can handle.

FRESH NEWS YOU HAVEN'T HEARD YET
We focus on stories that are new to you: current, interesting, and worth reading. No recycled headlines you saw last month, and no dull filler you'd skip past in your own language. It's a lot easier to keep going when you actually want to read the next story.

6 LANGUAGES, BEGINNER TO ADVANCED
Spanish, French, German, Japanese, Mandarin, English. Every level fully supported, guided by CEFR (A1 to C1), HSK, and JLPT frameworks.

HOW IT WORKS
New stories arrive daily across 17 topics, from politics and culture to sport, science, and tech. Read, listen, and pick up vocabulary the natural way, through real context and meaning.

AUDIO FOR EVERY STORY
Every article comes with clear, natural-sounding audio. Slow it down to catch every word, or speed it up to challenge yourself. Reading and listening together builds fluency faster than either one alone.

WIREWAVES: LISTENING ON THE MOVE
Keep listening with the app minimised or closed. WireWaves plays in the background while you walk, commute, or work out, turning spare minutes into hands-free practice. The newest stories play first, each plays once, and the queue keeps going as long as you want. Skip, jump ahead, or change the speed anytime.

LIVE DICTIONARY
Tap any word for an instant translation, pronunciation, and a real example sentence, all inside WireLingo. No switching apps, no losing your place. Save words as you go.

VOCABULARY & GRAMMAR IN CONTEXT
Pick up grammar by seeing it used in real writing. Key vocabulary and structures are highlighted as you read.

WORD ECHO
Word Echo highlights the vocabulary you've saved whenever it turns up in new stories, so you keep meeting your saved words in fresh context. That's what makes them stick.

KEYWORD SPRINTS
Preview the key words before you read an article, so you understand more from the first line.

ARTICLE QUIZZES
Every story comes with an AI quiz built around that specific article, so you're testing real comprehension rather than answering generic questions.

CUSTOMISABLE READER
Adjust the font, spacing, and pronunciation guides to suit how you like to read.

MEET SAGE, YOUR AI LANGUAGE TUTOR
Sage keeps track of what you read and what you save, then helps you build on it.
 - Chat about the story you just read
 - Practise real spoken conversation
 - Ask for grammar or translation help anytime
 - Get a full breakdown of anything you don't understand
Sage works inside every story you read, rather than off to the side as a separate chatbot.

REVISION HUB
Save words and phrases as you read, then revise them later with active recall and spaced repetition. XP, streaks, and milestones keep your progress motivating instead of a chore.

WRITING PRACTICE
Learning Mandarin or Japanese? Practise characters with guided stroke-order exercises based on what you've actually been reading.

### 2/5 — Should have free option

*2026-07-28*

Seems decent idea but no (useful whatsoever) free option, will wait for a better language app like busuu, ewa, drops, etc to get the one unique feature this app has. Def not worth paying $ for this. Give a limited

### 3/5 — Options

*2026-07-11*

This is pretty good so far, but I’d like for there to be access to more languages, like Korean or Portuguese for example. Other than that it’s pretty decent!! Just wish it had more than 6 languages :)!

**Developer response:** These are coming, including Italian and Russian also. Hopefully all within the next 6 months :)
