## What is WireSketch?

Design your electrical layout on a photo of your actual wall — sockets, switches, lights, EV charger — and hand your electrician a plan they can price. Scan, safety zones, panels, solar.

HOW IT WORKS

Photo your wall, start on a blank canvas, or scan the room. Set dimensions in cm — region-aware zones and heights appear. Place fixtures. Export to PDF, PNG, or CSV — annotated photo or clean IEC 60617 schematic.

SCAN YOUR ROOM (Pro)

Pan a LiDAR iPhone or iPad once around the room — it recognizes walls, openings, even furniture. Every wall becomes a measured canvas with doors and windows drawn at true size and position. Review the measurements before the plan is created; adjust or add openings anytime.

ROOM SKETCH SHARING

Export any wall or property as a calibrated Room Sketch — photo + scale in an open format read by companion planners (PipeSketch for plumbing, RenovMate for renovation): every trade on the same measured room.

HOMES — GROUP ROOMS UNDER ONE ROOF

Group rooms under a House, Flat, Garage, or Commercial property. GPS resolves the electrical region; every room shares one code.

CIRCUIT PANELS (Pro)

Lay out every breaker — label, amps, curve. The wand auto-fills the panel from your fixtures: appliances get dedicated circuits, EV chargers the right amperage. Live warnings flag overloads. Main + sub-panels, printable Panel Report PDF.

THE RENOVATION BRIEF (Pro)

The full PDF for your electrician: cover, wall sketches, materials list, plus a "Questions for my electrician" checklist to discuss first.

40+ FIXTURE TYPES

Sockets, switches, dimmers, lights, Cat6/TV outlets, floor heating, kitchen appliances, outdoor sockets, garden lights, EV chargers, smoke detectors, RCD/GFCI, junction boxes, conduit, distribution boards.

SAFETY ZONES BY REGION

Four standards, named by the standard not the region: DIN 18015 + VDE 0100 (DE; a start for AT/CH/NL), BS 7671 (UK, 18th ed. A2 2022), NEC base (US planning reference, not jurisdiction-compliant), AS/NZS 3000 (AU/NZ). Wet rooms apply IEC 60364 Zone 0/1/2. Outdoor: IP65/IP67 + 60 cm burial.

Limits we don't hide. France (NF C 15-100), Spain, Italy, Belgium, Switzerland, and Canada aren't separate selectors — layout planning only. NEC state amendments and AFCI dwelling-unit rules are out of scope. A licensed electrician must verify before installation.

ROOM TYPES + TEMPLATES (Pro)

Dry room, wet room, kitchen, outdoor — each with fixture heights and installation rules. 17 layouts from home to workshop and commercial.

CABLE & MATERIAL ESTIMATE

Per-circuit cable type and size (NYM-J for EU, Twin & Earth for UK, NM-B for US, TPS for AUS), total length, conduit, plus material and labor cost estimates.

KNOWLEDGE BASE

33 cited entries on standards, symbols, and formulas. Browse the whole library and read the core articles free; the full set and the four converters (Watts↔Amps, AWG↔mm², voltage drop, solar yield) are Pro.

SOLAR PLANNER (separate purchase)

Plan your solar system from a satellite snapshot. Automatic panel packing, yearly yield, inverter & battery sizing.

WIRESKETCH PRO

Free: up to 2 projects, 5 fixtures each. Homes, the core Knowledge Base articles, and the daily highlight are free — the free version is ad-supported, and any purchase removes ads. Pro (one-time, no subscription): room scanning, Renovation Brief PDF, Circuit Panels + Panel Report PDF, unlimited projects/fixtures, multi-wall, templates, cm measurements, full Knowledge Base. Solar Planner is separate. Legacy pack buyers keep everything. Less than an hour of trade labor — and it saves more than that on the first job.

9 LANGUAGES — EN, DE, FR, NL, TR, ES, IT, PL, PT.

PRIVACY — Your planning data stays on your device; no accounts, no cloud. The free version is ad-supported. Any purchase removes ads.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.4 — 2026-07-22

BEFORE & AFTER PHOTOS (new) — Document every surface before you close it up and after it's finished. Photograph the open wall, floor, or ceiling with the cables exposed, then the plastered, painted result — so months or years later you know exactly where the wiring runs behind the surface. Add as many before and after shots as you need per surface, each with its own note.

FLOOR & CEILING — Walls aren't the whole story. Add a floor or ceiling to any project as its own surface and give it the same before/after record — ideal for underfloor heating loops, ceiling light drops, and cable routes running overhead.

BROWSE & EXPORT — Flip through every surface's before and after shots in one project gallery, and export a clean Before & After PDF to hand to the homeowner or keep on file — separate from your technical wiring plan.

Plus fixes and polish throughout.

### 2.3 — 2026-07-18

FIXTURE GROUPS (new) — Place a whole combination in one drop. Build a vertical or horizontal group of 2–6 fixtures — the classic bedside stack, a kitchen counter row, a TV wall — or start from a best-practice preset and tweak it. Drop it as one unit that moves and flips together, and save your own groups to reuse across projects. A group is fed by a single cable, so cable estimates and offers count it the way it's actually installed.

SNAP TO CODE HEIGHTS — Drag any fixture and it magnetizes to the standard mounting heights for your region — sockets, switches, the panel — with a guide line showing the exact centimetre.

REDESIGNED ON THE WALL — Fixtures now render as clean, consistent chips that scale with the wall, so a socket never dwarfs a door on a wide scan. Switches look like real wall switches, and the technical export still lists every fixture's dimensions.

WALLS — The All Walls and Doors & Windows sheets open at half height so the canvas stays in view. Adding a fifth wall asks first, and you can delete a wall right from the All Walls grid.

Plus a lighter, faster canvas and fixes and polish throughout.

### 2.2 — 2026-07-16

One walk, the whole home. Scan room after room in a single LiDAR session — WireSketch chains them into one top-down floor plan. Every room is auto-named, created as its own project, and stays linked, so a rename shows up on the plan everywhere.

ELECTRICIAN MODE (new) — Turn a property into a branded, priced customer offer PDF: your letterhead and logo, an itemised position table, and net → VAT → gross totals that always add up.
• Add the circuit panel (every breaker priced), the solar system (modules, cabling, protection and fuses) and the floor plan as document sections.
• One-tap VAT treatments: standard rate, EU reverse charge, small business, export — each printing the correct legal note.
• Fill client details from Contacts and send the PDF straight from the preview — a completed share marks the offer as Sent.
• Offers dashboard: month sections with totals, filters and sorting by status, name or amount, plus win-rate stats. Track offers as sent, on hold, accepted or declined — expired offers are flagged, a sent offer with no reply gets an optional follow-up reminder, and any offer can be reused for a new client in one tap.

ALSO — The property screen renders the floor plan with a live room highlight, home cards respond to taps across the whole row, and plenty of fixes and polish throughout.

### 2.1 — 2026-07-09

Point the camera, get the room. WireSketch can now scan your room with LiDAR: pan once and every wall becomes a measured canvas — real dimensions, doors and windows drawn at their true size and position, and a size review before anything is created.

DOORS & WINDOWS — Fix a misread door, resize a window, or add one the scan missed. Openings are editable (size, position, name) and can be drawn onto blank-canvas walls too.

STARTING POINT — One place to begin a plan: take a photo, choose from the library, start on a blank canvas, or scan the room (Pro, LiDAR devices).

ROOM SKETCH SHARING — Export any wall or property as a calibrated Room Sketch file: the same photo and scale, ready for another trade in companion planners (PipeSketch for plumbing and RenovMate — coming soon).

EASIER NAVIGATION — Projects reopen on the wall you left. See every wall at once in the new All Walls grid, and read walls, fixtures, load, and solar at a glance on the Plans list (with a legend).

MORE ACCURATE — Deriving one wall dimension from the other now respects the photo's aspect ratio, and heights on blank canvases measure from the floor correctly. Deleting always asks first.

### 2.0 — 2026-06-22

What's new: a more open Knowledge Base, optional reminders, and a note on how the free version is supported.

KNOWLEDGE BASE, NOW OPEN — Browse the whole library and read the core articles free: what an RCD and an MCB really do, how IP ratings work, and the resilience essentials behind the Energy Plan — outage autonomy, critical loads, and self-consumption. The full reference library and the built-in calculators (Watts↔Amps, wire gauge, voltage drop, solar yield) stay Pro.

OPTIONAL REMINDERS — Turn on gentle nudges to finish a plan you started, try the Energy Plan if you haven't opened it yet, or map your roof when the sunny months come around. Off by default, easy to manage in About.

ABOUT ADS — WireSketch is free, now supported by ads for free users. Ads appear only at natural breaks, never while you're editing a plan. Any in-app purchase removes them completely and permanently — including for anyone who bought WireSketch before. In Europe we ask your consent before any ad loads, and you can change it anytime under About → Ad privacy choices.

Plus a round of small refinements and fixes.
