Icons appear as question marks, raising concerns about security. We are not WisPay’s customers, our schools are and as long as our schools are unaware of the absolute dogdirt product, their paid supplier is providing, they won’t seek an alternative. No one has ever downloaded this app because they want to. We’ve had to because our schools have been sold a lie. Shame on you Wise Pay and Community Brands. Your app is barely usable whilst your website sings your own praises. You do not believe your “customers deserve the absolute best we can give”. You believe that cynically serving the school’s finance department will relieve you of any obligation to your users. You are an insult to British innovation and technology. Spend some money on this app before another American tech company steps in. ### 1/5 — Duplicated payments *2024-11-25, version 4.0* All my payments to the school get duplicated and in the meantime credited to school account only once. When I tried to contact wisepay they replied that their product is for the school and not for parents directly. The company have rebranded and this is firmly stuck in the past. If you have more than one kid to manage, switching is incredibly difficult and the fact that it can’t send alerts when the balance is low is just so disappointing. ### 1/5 — Icimages *2024-09-26, version 4.0* Appalling dog’s dinner of an app. Irritates me that our taxes fund schools who then pay money for this mess. And have you tried contacting WisePay? You can’t do that as a parent. Our school used Scopay previously (which also had frustrations) but nothing compared to this user unfriendly, clunky and most challenging of apps. Annoyingly makes you change your password every 90 days but when you try it doesn’t actually let you. It crashes back to my phone screen every second time I open it, it gives me login errors, and how many times do I have to push a button to top up my child’s account? It should be one push to choose an amount, one push to confirm, one push to choose a saved card, input security code and one push to confirm. Why am I agreeing to terms each time I top up? Simplify the damned thing and make it more user friendly. Also maybe update it every now and then to fix these issues because they’re not going away by themselves. My name is Timothy Trustfund and I’m looking today for an investment of £50,000 in my company Wisepay Limited. What WisePay does is put up an unnecessary interface between the customer and whoever the customer is trying to pay. The customer downloads an app, is then given a code, a login name and a password by the payee and then registers a means of payment. And how is this more convenient than a funds transfer using the payee’s bank details? Er…well…it’s an app! It’s got a catchy name! And a logo! I’m out. ### 1/5 — Not fit for purpose *2026-01-15, version 4.0* This app has to be the worst piece of trash I’ve had the misfortune to have to use. Absolutely useless. Slow, clunky, repeatedly failing, poor visibility of transactions, I could go on but we’d be here all day. It basically only barely does what it has to do. The developers, and then schools that engage it and force parents to use it, should be ashamed of themselves. ### 1/5 — Useless app *2025-12-17, version 4.0* This app is absolutely useless. We have to use it for school payments, but it shows that is an app that is only used by schools as there has been very little effort put into making this app useful. It is always unclear if payments have gone through, the account balance is only updated periodically, so if money is added to the account after noon, you will not see that reflected on the account until the next day. So if your kid needs money for lunch and you have forgotten to top up their account, tough luck…no lunch. ### 1/5 — Terrible and outdated *2025-09-13, version 4.0* I have three children under the same account. Whilst I’m sure the app is good from the school side as I can see how it can compartmentalise different payments for different things, the user interface on the parental side is at best pants. Every time I have to make a payment I have to re-key in my credit card details which is tiresome. Why can’t you bring your app up to current standards and accept Apple Pay? ### 1/5 — Poor *2025-09-04, version 4.0* Nothing on this app is organised in an easy to use and clear fashion. I HAVE ONLY JUST DOWNLOADED THE APP AND HAVE NOT REGISTERED ANYTHING YET. It wont let me start using the app. I HAVE AN INVOICE FROM A SUBCONTRACTOR THAT NEEDS PAYING VIA WISEPAY. NOT IMPRESSED AT ALL ### 1/5 — Awful *2025-06-20, version 4.0* The infrastructure behind this may be great from a school’s perspective, but the patent facing app is just awful. My child doesn’t spend the same amount of money every day so have to constantly check the balance. Would be useful if you could set up a notification when balance reaches say £3 ### 4/5 — How I fixed my login issue *2021-06-07* If you have an ipad or computer that you can access your account instead of the app on your phone, go there and change your password then you will be able to login on the new app on your phone. Timing of change (with Schools shut) seems strange but got all the necessary login details from logging on via a browser so no issues there. ### 2/5 — Why no auto top ups for lunch money? *2022-11-28, version 4.0* See title So easy to do amount gets to x amount and it auto tops up or at least a notification its dow to lat £5 ### 2/5 — Clunky *2022-10-14, version 4.0* New to the app and first impressions are not good, having to search for and then deal with two separate accounts for my children although they are merged. I would like to see both children listed under the school banner and then a simple landing page which allows me to see current balance and then a single button to top up. Alerts as notifications when balances drop below a preset amount would be really useful. There is so much that could and should be done to make this better. ### 2/5 — Not brilliant *2021-06-04, version 1.0* Not the best or brilliant explanation to help get sorted on the app. You have to basically reset your password on the school WisePay website to get anywhere which is so frustrating.
