It works when it wants to work, which is almost never. I uninstalled the app and reinstalled and now I can’t sign in. I keep getting a message saying there is a JSON error. So frustrating. We’ve been using the Withings thermometer for almost a year now. I’ve been so happy with how easy it is to keep track of my kids temperatures when they’re sick. However, as of a month or so ago the app has stopped bringing in the temperature readings and I can no longer find the unassigned readings / assign them to a family member. I still get the notifications through my phone and Apple Watch, but they’re not being added to the timelines. I’ve looked in all the settings and can’t find anything. Now that I’ve come here to review I’m even more confused since it seems there hasn’t been an update to the app for several years. Why did this app just stop working if nothing has changed. ### 1/5 — Can’t create account - doesn’t say why *2024-12-20, version 2.1.1* Does not allow me to create an account. Does not say why. It says something went wrong. An error occurred (534). Who writes software that displays cryptic error codes? Pathetic. ### 1/5 — Why does the Company require login to take a temperature? *2024-11-06, version 2.1.1* The device control interface may be the very worst I’ve ever seen. The app is as buggy to the point of often unusable. Not ideal when you have a person sick and need something as sim)le and reliable as you know, a thermometer? Cheers — Jo, Withings Customer Service ### 2/5 — I’m not having a n easy time *2024-07-28, version 2.1.1* Sort of tricky difficult to add a new person difficult to change the avatar ### 1/5 — App is buggy *2024-07-21, version 2.1.1* I was excited to get this thermometer but the app is horrible. It was a little concerning when I was trying to set up profiles. It keeps telling me something was wrong after the avatar choosing step. So I closed the app and log back in, apparently the error messages was false alarms - I saw multiple family member profiles created because I can’t proceed after the avatar choosing steps. But the most disappointing thing was yet to come. I wanted to check my early temperature taken because it failed to sync with apple health app as it was supposed to. I opened up the app, tapped on the family profile, and the app crashed on my 17.5.1 system. I tried multiple times, and none of the attempts were not crashing. I couldn’t get to my temperature reading no matter how hard I tried. I even restarted my phone. The thermometer is a good product but the smart feature can’t even work for a day. Please fix the bugs and optimize your app. ### 3/5 — Clunky *2024-06-15, version 2.1.1* I tried to add my son multiple times and at the stage of the avatar, i hit next and it says error. I tried again. Again. Closed the app. Tried again. Then I go into moments and I see it has been added. Not sure what’s going on but maybe hold off putting the app out till you test things out and work out kinks and bugs. An/or release updates. The IOS app is incredibly clunky and frustrating. The online help is dated and does not always match the app layout. I spent over an hour trying to get the thermo device to work with the app and never got it to feed data to Apple Health. The online help to perform a factory reset did not match the format of the app. I think the app has not been updated to work with IOS16. Sorry. I wanted it to work. I’m an electrical engineer and have worked several years in IT. I know what I’m doing. I gave up. With fresh batteries, I’m having to go through the setup process again, which requires the app sign-in. I download the app and I’m unable to reset my password - keep getting an error message that the app is unable to reset my password at this time. Your app developer could use an IF test, for example, if user count >1 run the “assign to” routine ELSE add readings to default user. Now however, the temperature still synchronises ok, but the medication and symptoms sync doesn’t work reliably. Which is actually quite dangerous if you’re trying to know whether you can give another dose and based on the record in Thermo which may not anymore be accurate. We used to use it across myself and my wife so we both knew what was dosed and when. Now we’re back to using a shared Google sheet. Don’t rely on this app anymore for that.
