Sometimes the characters mean to go off the board and give the correct animations. And then they just stand behind the new character. Would really like to play with my friend hope they get it working soon. This is why I don’t like games that make you pay before you experience the whole of it because there’s most likely a feature that doesn’t work ### 4/5 — Great Start keep Going *2023-12-11* Thank you for a wonderful game , I have been able to get my 10 year old son interested in Chess as a result of your excellent graphics and gameplay. A 2 player option would be great that would allow us to take turns whilst only using one iPad. Different characters or a choice of editing or choosing characters for your side as a customizable option would also be a great improvement. One bug that we have experienced is that we can’t get past 10% of the tutorial before the game freezes and has to be closed and reopened to start again. I’ve tried waiting for 10-15 mins at a time and it never finds a player to connect with? ### 4/5 — Great game 1 downfall *2023-04-02* First off I would like to say very well done on making this game it’s amazing I love the whole wizard chess thing loved it since I seen Harry Potter 😂 but the only downfall is no one’s online and that’s really the whole point of why I paid to unlock full game to play online massive disappointment on that one wish the game was advertised on social media etc as I would bring more players to the game and possibly bring the online experience I paid for ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Things were going great, until… *2023-10-14* The opponent exchanged places with their king and another piece right next to mine in order to escape check, causing two kings to stand side by side in check of each other. I don’t mind the few extra little rules added to the game, but when it comes to the basic principles of the game, this move shouldn’t be permitted. Before now, I would have given this game 5 stars. Now I need to delete it. Sorry! ### 1/5 — Nope *2022-09-24, version 8.0* Pay wall if you want to play online. Game started glitching and locked up when i tried the tutorial wouldnt progress passed %10 of it. Didnt test any “special” moves so cant speak to the other claims that it wont let you castle. I can attest that there is no stalemate apparently i spent 30 dancing around the reds king and two bishops and a knight. Even hitting the same two blocks 50 times and nothing. It forced me to resign to start a new one. Along with that there is no way to even tell if i can play with my wife from phone to phone or if its just random people they start me with. I love the concept but there also needs to be differ attack types for each and every piece unless its the queen or the bishop its just “UGH ME SMASH WITH CLUB” or “SWORD”… battle chess was better and funnier. King takes pawn was a freakin riot. This is a problem for me. I’ve a free chess program installed on my iPad that gives me more control and options! And I PAID you for an application that offers very little in the way of control and options!?! I suggest the developer respond to any and all critical reviews and address the issues and concerns people have with this application and fix the bugs. ### 1/5 — Misleading and not free *2022-06-25, version 7.6* Why bother to even list this as free as you can’t do anything besides the annoying tutorial without spending money. Either list it as free plus features and throw in some ads, or list it at a price. Maybe consider making the part where they teach you the rules of chess skippable. Maybe also tell us we can’t play any part of the game without paying. Looked like fun. To make the bot show no mercy that you can press a setting that says “no mercy” and will make the bot play with no mercy for the players skill and Elo rating. And that it will brutally destroy you at all costs. This will help us all to play more. I like how strong the bot is on this one especially when it does very aggressive beginner moves that really throws me off in gameplay. But I wish it could show no mercy and be just as difficult as showing no mercy. This will make everyone if Elo 100 to 3,000 to play better and to think more wisely. Because the bot will Show “No Mercy” it does not care whether you are good or bad it will destroy you instantly! And lastly what I mentioned in the statement above my request to the creator of this amazing game to make the better version of chess through Hexagon chess 3D. It will be amazing to see a (91 Hex Cell) hexagonal chess board game with both versions of Hexagon chess and all other possible variants of Hexagon Chess. Please and Thank you!!! ### 5/5 — Far Superior to the Legacy PC Game!!! *2024-11-15* I used to have a primitive Battle Chess type of game on my desktop PC many many years ago, and I’ve missed playing it. So I ran a search for it in the App Store and I downloaded this as soon as I saw it. It takes the whole battle chess concept to another level. The 3D graphics and sounds are incredible, and the app plays a competitive game too. Highly recommended if you liked the old PC game. Lots of fun!!! I noticed the app hasn’t been updated in several years, so I hope the developer continues to support it moving forward. Also the game is pretty easy to beat so there should be different levels of difficulty for example: easy, medium, hard. Then each level of difficulty should the chess rating beside it. I also like the talking of the pieces and the graphics. Also you should not charge money to change the board and add new edits. If you do this I think you could get more people to download this. The only thing thing that I’ve noticed happens almost every single time which is a problem for me and I really hope it gets fixed in the future. Is that midway through a game if I’m playing online with one of my friends will disconnect not all the time but I would say 80 to 90% of the time so unless you are playing with a random person or playing local it will disconnect which is a bit frustrating. It’s pretty amazing playing chess with skeletons that speak and have animations for beating each other. I will say unless your a master chess player probably not the best game to learn on. No easy mode but you do have saves and redos. If you like learning from trial by fire I would recommend this app as it is pretty amazing visuals. Undoing the last move did make me have to think more and gave me more confidence to just make a move instead of thinking about it for 20 minutes to make sure I wasn’t royally screwing myself over ### 5/5 — Good Animated Chess Game!!!! *2024-02-24* I really like this game and I think it fits perfectly in a mix between a video game and chess!
