Crazy amount of notifications - Are you kidding me? You send us notifications for every single thing. It’s 3:30 pm and I got 40+ for just this part of the day. That includes notifications for entertainment news and don’t require us to be notified. I definitely don’t need to be notified about Mormon wife show and it is definitely NOT newsworthy. If you don’t fix it, I am turning off notifications from your app and deleting your widget. Based on reviews I see here, I am not alone, many people complain about this. You going to lose subscribers if that is not fixed. 2. Your app is taking more than 2 gigs of space on iPads. That’s huge, why? Cannot you optimize it? WCPO app of the other local news station takes almost 10 times less space, but provides the same content. 3. I have your app installed on both iPhone and iPad. Very often notifications on iPhone are different than on iPad. On iPhone I would get notifications linked to some articles, but on iPad I would not even get notifications for those and vice versa, on iPad I am getting notifications linked to articles, but on iPhone I am not even getting notifications for the same news. Same apple account for both devices and the same settings for your app on both devices with notifications turned on. Please fix those issues. Compare that to WCPO which sent 9. You need to better prioritize the local stories for what actually sends a push notification. ### 1/5 — No longer plays live news *2024-02-06, version 9.7.0* The news feed attempts to play for a split second then goes to a blank screen. This is normally when an ad plays but rather than an ad, nothing happens. ### 1/5 — UPDATED AGAIN Still only vertical view….. *2023-12-14* December 14, 2023. Tried again- no revision. Antique App. Deleted again. Maybe next year! ? April 3, 2023-Downloaded app once again hoping that it had been updated to include an horizontal view option that I prefer (as all your competitors’ apps offer)…..NOPE- deleted. ### 3/5 — Unprompted ads *2023-10-02, version 8.11.0* The app keeps auto playing ads without trying to watch video feeds. ### 2/5 — Not great *2022-12-01, version 7.38.0* For crying out loud, update the Local News and Nation & World feeds! They haven’t changed in 2 weeks. They only update Sports and Entertainment. I’m going to check out some other apps. ### 1/5 — Too Irritating To Use *2022-10-07* Lately this app has become unusable on my iPad because every time a story is opened most of the content is squeezed out by an ad video, requiring you to scroll up and down to read the actual content. Other local TV news apps are more user-friendly. Ugh. ### 2/5 — Works half the time *2022-07-12, version 7.37.0* On the air vs commercial breakdown is broken half the time. Some days it will play commercials followed by “we’ll be right back” followed by commercials and never play the actual broadcast. 0600-0620 and no news yet… guess I should just turn on the TV instead. The commercials are all repetitive and years old. ### 3/5 — Good thing I could hear!!! *2022-07-06, version 7.37.0* July 6, 2022 15:30 hrs. Batavia Township, Clermont County. So our siren went off about 30 minutes ago and no TORNADO ALERT from our local meteorologists! So they always say they are updating the weather app themselves and watching our weather. This happened the last time we had a tornado warning. Otherwise they do a good job, but this, this is vitally important. If I didn’t have a siren about a 1/4 mile from me I would never have known. Hey meteorologists…do your job or quit telling us you are constantly monitoring during these storms. There was a 🌪 on the ground in northern Clermont County and hit one of the fire stations in Goshen Township. I tried erasing it and re-download in the app it says it will place local news but in fact it does not. The app itself is good and did not used to send so many notifications. I had to silence all notifications from this app because I was getting so many. There should at least be an option of what categories send notifications. 50+ a day is crazy. I get more notifications from this app than all my other apps combined. Look around, there is no apps anymore who doesn’t provide both portrait and landscape mode. Even your own weather app allows both modes. I’ve deleted it and reopened thinking it might help, but nothing. I’m going to delete it and unfortunately go with channel 9. Specifically the search function. You watch the news they tell you to check the app. Then you can find no reference to said story. I would normally chalk it up to user error if it wasn’t so prevalent. Watch WKRC. You’ll love the fair and I believe honest reporting.
