I don’t have the ability to watch the weather forecast through a TV service or streaming app, but I am always up to speed on the weather with my News 2 weather app. That is, until recently. Not sure what has happened, but I can no longer view the forecast from each new cast on the app. Please bring back the daily videos of the 7 day and extended forecast! ### 2/5 — Not great *2025-04-03, version 5.17.507* It gives notifications about weather event, but then it just shows a 15s video with no audio, then it cuts to a persons face and restarts. I’d either like a longer video with an explanation or just the radar. ### 3/5 — Good but… *2025-03-31, version 5.17.507* Downloaded for an overnight storm. Promptly deleting this morning. The LAST thing I want to hear in the middle of the night (besides weather warnings) is Danielle Breezy’s squawking voice. Put some choices out there, WKRN. I would rather hear a robo-voice; not keen on DB at all. ### 3/5 — Too Many Notifications *2025-03-15* The app has an incredible menu for choosing which notifications you want to receive. I only want Tornado warnings, but those settings don’t work. I get all the notifications for small things like thunderstorm and flash flood watches. Don’t give us the options if they don’t actually work. ### 2/5 — Convenient but freezes *2025-03-15, version 5.17.507* I like the layout and ease of the app but the radar is always freezing. ### 3/5 — Poor alerts *2024-04-20, version 5.13.800* I keep getting rain/ lightning alerts when there is nothing on the radar and not a cloud in the sky. Very frustrating! ### 2/5 — A million notifications *2023-07-01* I wanted this app to keep me up to date on emergency weather notifications, but I get literally like 30+ notifications for a watch or warning, and often for areas not even close to me, which is dangerous because then I don’t take the warnings as seriously since they don’t always affect me. You need to majorly fix this! It’s dangerous! People might not pay attention to warnings if there’s too many. And idk why it gives dozens of notifications in a row but it’s annoying ### 2/5 — Bad update *2023-06-26, version 5.8.501* You used to be able to see the last couple of hours on the radar and see how the weather is trending. Now you can only see the present and the prediction. I prefer to see the track of storms as opposed to where they currently are, to me this is useless. ### 1/5 — Not accurate anymore *2022-07-30, version 5.6.500* This USE to be the best weather app but now it’s way off every time.. we get rain and radar shows clear , the forecast is never what it says . Sadly i have to find another more accurate one . Go Vols ! ### 2/5 — 2 stars for radar and tornado alerts *2022-07-04, version 5.6.400* I’m giving this app two stars for their radar and tornado alerts other than that fairly useless and weather prediction is fair at best… used to be superb… I mainly rely on AccuWeather now..: ### 3/5 — Oh for the good ol’ app *2022-06-13, version 5.6.300* WKRN has been my go to channel and weather app for many years but I am considering changing that. The weather app has been declining in both performance and functionality - no radar in the midst of storms for instance - and with this last update it doesn’t even open! 😕 ### 2/5 — Used to like it *2022-06-13* I used to love this app but lately I’ll get notifications that say “there’s a tornado warning in your area” when it’s no where near. I’ve tried and tried to change settings so that I only get alerts for my selected areas. Also, I’m not sure if the app was recently updated but every time I try to load the app the last few days it crashes. Going to be deleting it!! ### 1/5 — Constant weather clickbait *2022-04-14* People download these apps for important weather updates, but the app spams you constantly with nonsense alerts that are half a state away or completely benign. It is gross to pop up with “new tornado warning in your area” every 20 minutes when the warnings are actually several counties away. How am I supposed to know when there are actually warnings near me? This is counter intuitive and actually causing more risk. Danielle Breezy has cried wolf so many times that I’m now deleting the app. ### 1/5 — Issues *2022-01-02* Having some major issues with the app. Even though location is always on it won’t use my location. It keeps the weather on a location that is far from where I live. Also wish I could find a way to set it to severe weather alerts to my location only. I don’t like getting every weather notification that’s comes out. I don’t need notifications every 2-3 minutes about the severe weather in places hundreds of miles from me. ### 3/5 — This isn’t it. *2022-01-01, version 5.4.940* This is the first time for severe weather since I installed this app. I’m getting tornado warnings “in your area” that are for cities 50 miles away. Then I open the app and have to watch the video to see where the warning is. Next app…. ### 3/5 — Used to be pretty good but annoying now *2022-01-01* I am so sick and tired of hearing “this is Danielle Breezy with another update”. It’s so annoying I’m about to delete the app. Now the banner notifications say there’s a tornado warning in my area but doesn’t say the county unless I open the app. This does nothing to help me. Other local stations put what county in the notification so we know it’s close to us. I opened the app on this last alert today that is supposedly for my area and it’s over 2 hours away from me. Not helpful at all. I don’t have time to keep opening the app to check ## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated) ### 1/5 — Great until this last update *2026-06-02* This has been my go to weather app in Tennessee for years. So sad to see it completely rendered useless with ads. You open the app you get an ad, you click on any tab you get an ad, the tab doesn’t load and you click it again, you get another ad! Absolutely insane! If I need to check Weather, you can’t make me sit through 1:30 of ads before I can get to my radar. ### 1/5 — Unreliable and unpredictable *2025-11-19, version 5.17.706* Time and time again I check the weather and see a “15% chance of rain” forecast and then overnight it morphs into “severe thunderstorm. Intrusive and not what I want or need in my weather app. ### 1/5 — Annoying *2025-04-04* The fact that this app gives me notifications for areas of TN that are NO WHERE NEAR ME and says “thunder storm warning in your area” is really frustrating. I just got a notification for west Tn and I’m in middle Tn. I got a tornado warning for west Tn Thursday night and freaked out thinking it was middle Tn. Fix your notifications to only be peoples actual locations and maybe you’ll be better than the weather app that comes on the iPhone. ### 1/5 — Worthless in a storm *2025-03-31* I’m fixing to delete this app it’s worthless. You can’t pull any immediate radar up or video you have to watch three minutes worth of commercials before you can even see anything and if you had a tornado on the other side of the city that three minutes is critical. So be honest you care more about money than you do saving lives. You will be deleted tonight. ### 1/5 — 30 second ads before EVERY video now?? *2025-02-17, version 5.17.507* WKRN, the way you have suddenly set up a 30 second ad to play right before EVERY video is enough to want to switch apps. This is not responsible advertising positioning. Worst case scenario - What if your viewers are trying to plan for their safety, but they have to wait for a long version ad to play? I’m in marketing, this is a poor practice. ### 1/5 — Ads *2025-01-03, version 5.17.507* Wow, now we have to watch ads before weather updates??!! I used to tell everyone they should get this app, now I'm deleting it. Hope you don't make people watch ads before telling them a tornado is heading their way. I'm sure you have enough money. This is RIDICULOUS!! ### 1/5 — Frustratingly Inaccurate *2024-07-30, version 5.15.406* Today I’ve had numerous notifications about “severe weather in our area”. I click on the notification to see that the area isn’t in my location or even close. It’s annoying to check it every time when it’s not pertaining to my area so I uninstalled the app. I should’ve paid attention to other reviews who have the same issue. ### 1/5 — The most ridiculous app of all weather apps. *2024-05-27, version 5.13.800* Installed it to keep track of potential tornado warnings instead I got continuous updates of 4 different weather events in 1 minute. I even adjusted my settings to only tornado warnings. Next thing was “you have new storm tracker updates” I’m uninstalling this app as soon as I write this review. ### 1/5 — Hire a Product Designer *2023-03-31, version 5.7.301* Downloaded this app due to a tornado warning in Nashville but as soon as I opened it I wanted to delete it. WAY too much information being thrown in your face and it’s impossible to understand what you should be focusing on. Looks like they’re cramming as much info in there as possible without any intentionality. Best technology, best timings and most up to date information with, in my opinion, closest predictions to what actually happens out of all the weather stations around. Danielle breezy, Davis Nolan, Marcus bagwell, Alex and Shelby mac’n’cheese got it going on! Keep up the great work! ### 5/5 — Great app! *2025-01-12* I’ve been using this app for many years. I find the radar for precipitation to be fairly accurate. It’s weather people! It changes. These are only forecast mother nature’s gonna do what it’s gonna do. But I think it’s accurate 90% of the time. Not only is a great locally here in Nashville, but I use it when I’m traveling you can look at any city Save cities check up on my folks in Los Angelesand friends in New York, Paris, and New Zealand all from the same app ### 5/5 — A MUST-HAVE *2024-03-14* This app is wonderful, between the traffic updates in the morning, the little mini weather update videos, and the alerts, there’s not much else you could want. My whole family LOVES the “This is New 2 meteorologist Danielle Breezy, LIGHTNING has been detected for your location!” Having those little alerts pop up out of the blue makes my day, as we are all big Danielle Breezy fans and constantly check the weather anyway. This is an app I keep on my phone all the time, it never gets deleted! ### 5/5 — Preparenes *2023-03-24* Love this app. Always good to know what is coming and have time to get you and your family in a safe place if needed. You can set which alerts you want and turn them off when you don’t. Not sure how alerts can be annoying especially when it could save your life.
