### 5/5 — Works really well

*2018-12-30, version 3.9.29*

Using this when I am traveling is as easy, simple, and problem free as listening on my HD FM radio.

### 5/5 — Convenient

*2018-12-24, version 3.9.29*

Love keeping up with WKSU on my phone?

### 5/5 — Great App!

*2018-12-20, version 3.9.29*

I’m on the very edge of the service area and HD is always going in and out. This app is intuitive and gives me consistent access to a great station.

### 5/5 — Love this mother!!!

*2018-11-06, version 3.9.7*

I use this app every single day. Love it!!!

### 5/5 — Best way to listen live online

*2018-09-27, version 3.9.7*

And pledge-free rocks! This beats NPR ONE to heck and back-easy to find play button works seamlessly, thanks WKSU!

### 5/5 — Great App

*2018-06-07, version 3.9.4*

The new style is very nice. It’s my go to app for listening to NPR.

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2018-05-25, version 3.9.4*

Love this app

### 5/5 — Great way to access WKSU

*2018-05-18, version 3.9.4*

Well designed app balancing streaming and in-depth information and resources.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2018-04-20, version 3.8.50*

The best news and music, I can’t ask for anything more.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — App cuts out

*2019-12-17, version 4.4.9*

I love WKSU, but this app has gone bad. It cuts in/out. It’s hardly worth listening to due to this frustrating experience.

### 1/5 — Can't ever get sound

*2017-07-06, version 3.8.11*

Have tried multiple fixes with no success.

### 2/5 — Compressed

*2019-04-07, version 4.4.2*

Some programs have descent sound, others not so much. It’s a station thing, not the app, as many of the programs OTA also have horrible compressed sound.

### 3/5 — Nice, Up to date but...

*2020-03-24, version 4.4.36*

Like the updates and like that we can listen to the current stream but, I have grown used to listening to “recent shows” on other apps. Get to a song that you find is not to your taste? Skip it. Can’t do that with the live stream. I know. First world problems.

### 3/5 — Poor Interface

*2020-02-28, version 4.4.32*

App is not very visually readable but I love the local content.

### 3/5 — Miss volume control

*2017-03-07, version 3.8.8*

I really miss the ability to change the volume on this app through the app itself. Now with the so-called updated version, I'm forced to use the pushbutton control that is on my iPhone.

### 4/5 — Works fairly well in streaming mode w/ only occasional hiccups!

*2019-12-10, version 4.4.9*

Some places in university buildings seem to interfere w/ streaming feature; otherwise excellent classical content...!

### 4/5 — Could be a 5

*2018-11-21, version 3.9.7*

As a sustaining member, I can only stream Folk Alley from the WKSU APP and not the holiday themed streams

### 4/5 — Unusual overlaps in streaming audio

*2018-04-24, version 3.8.50*

I switched from the NPR app due to connection issues in the rural area where I live. WKSU’s app plays more consistently for me, but a few times each day it cuts away from one program segment into another mid-segment. Not sure what that’s about, but it’s never happened with the NPR app it when I can listen on the radio.

### 4/5 — New app layout

*2017-03-02, version 3.8.7*

Really like the content of the station, 24hour news/talk. The previous layout of the app was better I think; but I will get use to this version as well.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Outstanding

*2022-01-07, version 4.5.25*

We’ve had Folk Alley on the Bose for a long time. I recently bought an iPad and installed the WKSU app, what a surprise. So many more choices and they work well

### 5/5 — Life changing

*2021-07-07, version 4.4.67*

I have learned so much about myself and the world! Thanks you for the outstanding reporting and life affirming story telling.
Michelle

### 5/5 — coved-19 app

*2020-06-06, version 4.4.48*

i am in summit county and this is my most reliable app for staying on top of it.

### 5/5 — I enjoy the classical music feature

*2020-03-27, version 4.4.36*

I enjoy the classical music feature

### 5/5 — Love It

*2020-03-19, version 4.4.36*

This app is easy to navigate without any glitches that I’ve ever seen. The content is top notch. At a time politicians are seeking to kill public radio, this app and its access to sound reporting are more important than ever.

### 5/5 — Best radio around

*2020-03-18, version 4.4.9*

Love the classical music and this is the best source for Ohio news. The WKSU team is solid.

### 5/5 — Excellent app for national and local public radio

*2019-09-11, version 4.4.9*

I've used many public radio apps and WKSU is really punching above its weight with this one. I much prefer it to the current versions (summer 2019) of the apps from NPR, KPCC, and WNYC. I like its ease of use and straightforward design.

### 5/5 — Real news

*2019-09-10, version 4.4.9*

Keeps me informed about a region where I lived and worked for 15 years and to which I may soon return. Most excellent programming. Thank you!

### 5/5 — Love it!

*2019-07-14, version 4.4.9*

I ask Alexa to play “WKSU” each morning and it is on for the better part of the day. Being from NEOH, but living in NEPA, it keeps me in touch with OH where my family still lives. I also use the app in the car because my local station is quite spotty (and I prefer the news programs on WKSU). I’m a sustaining member of both stations, but listen predominantly to WKSU. Thanks so much.

### 5/5 — It’s like coming home.

*2019-04-30, version 4.4.2*

I grew up in Kent and lamented leaving WKSU behind when I lived away to school. There is no equal to its classical and folk programming. NPR programs are always great but readily available in the areas where I lived since but the musical variety were sorely missed. I was elated to find the app and its my go-to classical fix now. Thank you for such excellent programs and hosts!
