It used to be a list of the shows in alphabetical order. It’s still alphabetical, but is now a bunch of small icons which makes it much more difficult to find the show you’re looking for. ### 2/5 — WWTF! *2024-08-03, version 7.1.9* An audio app that won’t play in the background or if your phone goes into power-saver mode? Who designed this? High school juniors applying to do an internship at the station? Come on! This station is too good to have a crappy app like this!! ### 2/5 — New app problems *2024-01-22* Love the station and it’s programming but this new app has two major problems. First of all it doesn’t rotate from portrait to landscape aspect like the previous version did. Secondly, and more importantly, it will not play in the background while you are using another app on your device. So I am unable to listen to the WMNF app while reading an online newspaper, for example. It would be nice to have the option to download and use the previous version of the app. ### 2/5 — Why Does it Pause *2024-01-02* Just downloaded the app but every time I switch apps/screens to look at another app, the music stops playing. It starts up once I open the MNF app’s screen again. To clarify, the app is not being closed, nor are the other apps music/video player apps. If app is paused and then resumed while listening through bluetooth, it has a glitch sound it will play repeatedly and won’t go away unless the app is completely closed and reopened. I’ve had this issue on multiple iphones and multiple bluetooth devices. Like that additional content is available to stream - the other HD channels. Sound quality is better than over the air radio. Also, appreciate using it when traveling out of town. It will put spyware on your phone and it sends your personal information back to the station allowing them to take money from you. They claim to be noncommercial but play commercials. Missing my Friday shows… sigh ### 1/5 — Terrible *2024-06-12* This newest app is terrible. I’ve complained to WMNF I.T. and that was useless. Then a couple more email complaints, no reply. It will play for a good while till I get a call or to reply a text message. It stops, I have to restart it, then soon as the Home Screen fades it stops playing. Then if I close the app completely and reboot. It’s ok till I get a call or text, the same problem starts all over again. I’m afraid your listening audience will plunge until you fix this. I used to listen every day but can’t anymore. In the old app, I could fast forward and reverse when listening to an archived show. In the new app, I can’t. Sometimes, I wanted to return to Bob Seymour’s commentary on a jazz artist or catch more details of an upcoming event. Or re-listen to a great tune. Now I can’t. Worse, sometimes the app reboots and I can’t fast forward in the hour to the point where I quit listening. And I don’t want to re-listen to the previous 10 or 40 minutes. Please fix!!! ### 1/5 — WMNF update10/25 *2021-10-26, version 5.1.2* I updated the app as suggested. Now, the app won’t work. Or maybe will play for a second , then stop. I used to be able to listen to the app and go into other sites at the same time. Now I can’t. I don’t know what happened,but this is terrible now. After a few minutes the stream is interrupted by squeaking, blurbing of the data. I’m I the only one with this problem? I contacted a tech from Vz. Mike Honeycutt ### 2/5 — Needs improvement Now *2024-09-26* I’ve been a streaming listener for many years. When the App first came out you could listen for hours, selecting from the archives. Some glitches but overall 4 stars. I don’t remember exactly when, an update must have changed listening. If my phone’s screen turned off app stopped. If I opened another app, app stopped. If I receive a notification, app stops. How is this supposed to enhance my listening experience??? Finally-a solution. While it may buffer on slight occasion, that’s just live streaming in a nutshell. That’s my favorite part as I start to use it more. The previous version worked great but I noticed that it would glitch during broadcasts. Nothing major, but could be kind of annoying at times. The most recent update though appears to fix that issue.
