Requires your own computer — Windows 10/11 or macOS — running the wmux daemon. Nothing runs in the cloud and there is no account. wmux never calls a model. It only mirrors the terminal on your own computer, so it works however your agents are set up there — with a personal API key, Amazon Bedrock, Google Vertex AI, a company gateway or a local model. Your coding agents keep working when you walk away from the desk. wmux is how you stay in the loop. An agent that needs permission to run a command stops and waits. wmux puts that question on your phone — on the lock screen, answerable without unlocking — so a run that used to sit idle until you came back keeps going. WHAT YOU CAN DO • Answer a permission prompt from the lock screen, in one tap • Read the whole conversation: prose, code, diffs, tables, tool calls, and the images the agent worked with • Watch a live terminal and type into it • See every session at once, and which ones are waiting on you • Send a photo or a dictated line straight into a pane • Answer with no signal — replies wait in a queue and go out when you are back • Keep the count in front of you with a Home Screen widget or a lock screen Live Activity BUILT FOR A PHONE, NOT SHRUNK ONTO ONE Tables wrap to the column instead of scrolling off the edge. Code blocks stay chips until you open them. The conversation groups by speaker so one turn reads as one turn. Everything is legible at arm's length in a dark room, which is where the notification usually finds you. WHAT YOU NEED wmux is a companion to the wmux daemon, which runs on your own Windows or Mac computer and is where your agents live. Get it at wmux.app. Your phone pairs by scanning a QR code and reaches that computer over your Tailscale tailnet, so it works away from home too. NO COMPUTER HANDY? TRY THE DEMO Open the app and tap "Try the demo" at the bottom of the pairing screen. It opens a sample workspace — an approval waiting, three sessions, a full transcript — with nothing connected and nothing sent anywhere. PRIVACY No account. No analytics. No advertising. Your pairing credential lives in this device's Keychain and is sent only to the computer you paired with. Notification contents are sealed on that computer and opened on your phone; the relay in between cannot read them. The lock screen Live Activity carries counts only — numbers, no text — and nothing is stored anywhere along the way. ## Version history (last 5 releases) ### 1.3.2 — 2026-09-24 Fixes from real-world use. • New approval requests appear in the Inbox the moment they arrive. • The terminal's top rows no longer hide under the title bar. • Recently answered shows the tool for permission requests, marks expired ones, and translates each answer. ### 1.3.0 — 2026-09-20 The lock screen keeps up with your computer even when the app is closed. • When an approval arrives, your computer raises the lock screen Live Activity and updates the number itself. The app does not have to be running. • Images in the conversation appear as thumbnails and open full screen on a tap. • Return makes a new line in the reply field. The button sends. • Both screens carry the same two controls at the top right: the other screen, and a ⋯ menu. What changed, restart and close are now reachable from the conversation too. • The app no longer says it is live before your computer has actually answered. The lock screen updates and the images need wmux 3.58 or later on your computer. ### 1.2.0 — 2026-09-18 The fleet list now tells you what each pane is doing. • A pane that is working shows a turning arc beside its name, from the agent's own hooks rather than a guess at its last activity. • An idle pane shows the agent's last sentence, so you can see what to say next without opening it. • Workspaces are ordered by what you touched most recently, not alphabetically. • Photos attach as thumbnails you can remove, instead of a file path typed into the message. • Light mode is monochrome. The pane screen is titled by its folder, not by the agent's name. • Typing / in the reply field lists the commands and skills that session can run, filtered as you type.
