## What is Wockett?

Need a walk that fits the time you have? Wockett plans a loop from your door, sized to finish today's step goal or to fit a spare 20 minutes, then guides you around it.

Bring the dog. Every pet gets their own daily goal and walk totals.

No account to make. Your walks stay on your iPhone and in your own iCloud.

ROUTES FROM WHERE YOU STAND
• Choose "Finish Goal" or 20, 30 or 45 minutes, and Wockett suggests several loops near you
• Each route shows distance, time, estimated steps, a difficulty level and the weather for your walk
• Tap a route for its elevation chart, then start with on-screen directions
• Search a place, or pick a nearby park, beach or café, and walk there and back
• Build your own routes, save them, and see every time you've walked one

TRAILS (NORTH CAROLINA FOR NOW)
• See named trails within 10 miles, nearest first, even with no signal
• Filter by loops, paved or unpaved, and length, or hide trails where dogs aren't allowed
• Not at the trail yet? Get walking or biking directions to it inside Wockett
• On a trail walk, Wockett follows the trail itself and lets you know if you wander off it, with an arrow pointing the way back
• More regions are on the way

WALKS WITH YOUR PETS
• Add your dogs (or cat, if they walk) and choose who's coming on each walk
• Each pet gets credit for the walk and a ring showing progress toward their daily goal
• Walking a route with your pets on a hot day? Wockett warns that pavement can burn paws and offers water-break reminders in one tap

WALK, RUN, RIDE OR INDOOR
• One tracker for all four, and Wockett uses the right words for each: a ride says ride
• Spoken updates at each mile (or kilometer) with your pace, if you'd like them
• Stopped for a while? The walk pauses itself, then resumes once you're moving again
• Pause or end from the Lock Screen and Dynamic Island
• "Hey Siri, start a walk with Wockett," or tap Start Walk in Control Center
• If the app closes mid-walk, pick up right where you left off
• Forgot to press Start? Turn on the untracked walk nudge and Wockett can spot a walk later in the day and save it for you

YOUR DAY AT A GLANCE
• Home shows today's steps, your pets' progress, your streak and the weather on one card
• A home screen widget keeps today's steps in view
• Walks, runs and rides save to Apple Health, map included
• The Health tab gathers your week, your month, lifetime totals and walking metrics from Apple Health

STREAKS, BADGES AND CHALLENGES
• Keep a daily streak and collect badges for distance, consistency, rides, pets and exploring
• Join or create step challenges and see where you stand
• Share routes with walkers nearby, and find theirs
• Personal records and a share card for walks worth showing off

REMINDERS THAT HELP
• Set walk reminders for once, daily or weekly, and start the walk right from the notification
• Optional nudges to protect your streak or walk the dog, and a Sunday recap

PRIVATE BY DESIGN
There's no Wockett account, and Wockett has no servers of its own. Your walks, pets and badges stay on your device and sync through your private iCloud. Anything you post to the Community tab is shared only because you chose to post it.

Wockett uses your location to suggest routes, show local weather and record the walks you start. It reads your steps from Apple Health and saves your workouts there.

### 5/5 — Wockett review

*2026-10-01*

The Wockett app has been a helpful resource for both tracking and planning my daily activity to ensure I meet my goals. The UI is super user friendly and the developer(s) is constantly making quality of life updates. Overall I am a fan of the app and am excited to see what new features will be rolled out next!

### 5/5 — The best walking App available.

*2026-09-29*

This is by far the most accurate walking app I have used. Having the option to add pets and track their activity is a huge plus for keeping your pets active. Feels like the app is pushing new updates almost weekly to improve the user experience. You can tell the developer put time and thought into what the end user needs and they delivered.

### 5/5 — Super Clean

*2026-09-28*

Love the app. Simple. Clean. Functional. And the data doesn’t leave your phone.

### 5/5 — What an awesome app!

*2026-09-28*

I really like this app! It makes planning walks so much easier by giving you convenient walking routes and accurate estimated times to get where you’re going. I especially like that you can save your favorite routes, which makes it quick and easy to use them again later. It’s simple, convenient, and has become a really useful app for planning walks and getting around. Also love the search feature where I can select bars, gyms, café’s etc. Highly recommend!

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.17 — 2026-10-17

Hikes, climbs and splits.

Hikes: start a walk from a trail in Trails and it is now a hike. The button says Start Hike, the walk screen and Lock Screen say Hike, and Apple Health saves it as a Hiking workout. Only trails the map data marks as unpaved or graded count as hikes.

Climb: walks, runs and rides now show how far up you went, with how far down beneath it, on the summary and in Activity History.

Runs: see your current pace as well as your average, and get a split for every mile (every kilometre outside the US), saved with the run and read out by the voice cue. The Lock Screen and Dynamic Island show both paces.

Trails:
• Trail facts on a trail's details: how hard the path is, the surface, how well it is marked, wheelchair access, lighting and who looks after it, only when the map data says so.
• After a walk on a trail, a few optional one-tap questions about dogs, strollers, wheelchairs and the surface. When enough walkers agree, other walkers see it as "Walkers say".
• My contributions (Settings, Community): see the trails you nominated and when one is featured.

Also new and fixed:
• Save Image on the walk card's share sheet.
• Tapping an activity in a calendar day opens its full summary.
• End on the minimised walk tile asks to save or discard again on iOS 26.
• Rides no longer show made-up step counts.

### 1.16 — 2026-10-14

Walks with your dog now count toward your personal records. Since version 1.7, a walk with a pet on it could never set Longest walk or Fastest pace, so most people never saw a record. That's fixed, and records are now kept separately for walks, runs, rides and indoor walks.

One summary for every activity. Indoor walks now end on the full summary, with Share, and you can tap any activity in Activity History to see its summary again, with its map and the records it set. Rides show speed instead of steps.

Also new:
• Hide start and finish: when you share a route, you can leave the area around its start and finish off the map, so a loop from home doesn't point to your door.
• Settings → Community: see and unblock the people you've blocked, and delete everything you've shared in Community in one go. Blocks now sync through your iCloud, so they stay after a reinstall and on your other devices.
• The Terms of Service are in Settings → About, and before your first post, share or like, Wockett shows a short summary of the community rules.
• Share a challenge: Share Challenge sends friends a link that opens it in Wockett.
• Step challenges count the steps from walks and runs you record in Wockett, so nothing from Apple Health is posted.
• Trails: nominate a trail you love, and see the trails we feature near you.
• Delete your own shared routes, posts and challenges: long-press one and choose Delete from Community.
• Report now asks what's wrong and comes straight to us, no email needed.
• Wockett asks for location, motion and Health access when you first use what needs them, not all at once on first launch, and no longer asks for Reminders.

Fixes:
• Home and Health no longer break at the largest text sizes, and future days in the calendar are easier to read.
• US walkers see miles in more places: Fastest Pace, indoor pace, the elevation chart and the map's markers.
• Locking your phone no longer stops a paused walk from resuming on its own.
• Ending a guided walk from the Lock Screen no longer starts a new walk.
• The 13-mile and 62-mile challenges no longer read 12 and 61.
• A challenge you create shows up straight away.
• People you block are off your challenge leaderboards.
• Tapping Done after a walk could close the app. Fixed (your walk was always saved).

### 1.15 — 2026-10-13

New: Insights. Health → Insights shows your week and month: distance, active time, steps and active days, compared with the same point last week or month. It also shows your trend, your walk, run and ride mix, your busiest day, and each pet's totals.

Also new:
• A launch screen built from the Wockett icon.
• Rate Wockett, in Settings → Support.
• Likes and Wocketts in Community now count for everyone, and Report now sends us an email so we can act on it.
• Community names are unique: still random and anonymous (like MistyOak42), but no two people share one, and yours is the same on every device.
• Block now hides that person everywhere, and their likes and Wocketts disappear from your own posts.
• Fixes: trail downloads no longer stick at 100%, and the Health permission text lists everything Wockett reads.

### 1.14 — 2026-10-10

A fresh new look, and a few things you've been missing.

**NEW**

- A redesigned Wockett. Home puts your day on one card: steps, your crew, your streak, plus GPS and weather at a glance. Every screen, the widget and the Live Activity share the same cleaner look, in light and dark mode.
- Pick, then start. Choose Walk, Run, Ride or Indoor, then tap Start, so a stray tap never begins a walk.
- Directions to a trail. Walk or ride to a trail from inside Wockett, then carry on along the trail in the same walk when you arrive.
- This week on Home: seven days of steps at a glance.
- Auto-resume. A walk Wockett paused because you stopped picks up again by itself when you move.

**IMPROVED**

- Change your daily step goal again, from Settings → Tracking → Daily step goal.
- Trails without a name are joined into continuous paths and named for what they are.
- Voice cues count miles on a US phone, and your music only dips while Wockett is speaking.
- Log a Past Walk takes miles on a US phone.
- The home screen widget updates on its own, without opening Wockett.

**FIXED**

- "Hey Siri, start a walk with Wockett" and the Control Center button start a walk again.
- Walks, runs and rides finished from the walk screen are saved to Apple Health.
- A guided walk that reaches its end is saved even if the walk screen was closed.
- Your pets get credit for the whole walk, and water-break reminders stop when the walk ends.
- Bookmarked places sync through iCloud, and long walks and large routes keep syncing.
- A smoother start-up and walk start.
- Many small fixes to text, contrast and dark mode.

### 1.13 — 2026-09-29

A big update for trail walkers, and a new Community tab.

**NEW**

- Trails in Routes. Switch Routes to Trails to see the trails within 10 miles, nearest first. They come from your phone, so the list works with no signal. Filter by loops, paved or unpaved and length, or hide trails where dogs aren't allowed.
- Walk a trail. Near a trail, start your walk right from its screen, and Wockett follows the trail itself, round the loop or to the far end, instead of the roads beside it.
- Off-trail alerts. Wander more than 50 m from the trail and Wockett lets you know, with an arrow pointing the way back. You get a banner, a haptic, a spoken line if voice cues are on, and a notification if your phone is in your pocket.
- A new Community tab. Your streak, badges and challenge rank at a glance; a friendly nudge toward the next place in your challenge; your next badge; your crew's week; the latest milestones; top routes near you; and official trails nearby.
- A redesigned walk screen. The panel opens as a quick glance at distance, time and pace, so the map gets more of the screen. Tap More for every stat and clearly labelled controls.

**IMPROVED**

- Walks saved to Apple Health now include their map. You'll see one Health prompt to allow it.
- Progress on trail and recorded-route walks is more reliable, including walking a loop the other way, turning back, and GPS gaps.
- Routes, Trails, Health and Community now share one consistent look.

**FIXED**

- Changes to a saved route's waypoints now stick after you close the app.
- Save as Custom Route now keeps the line you actually walked.
- A trail or recorded-route walk no longer ends as "Walk complete" the moment it starts.
- Leaving the trail while your walk is minimized now sends the off-trail notification.
- "Now" on Home's step timeline stays on one line, and the Goal label on Health's charts no longer covers the axis.
- A saved route's history now says "Route History", not "Run History".
