### 2/5 — One reaaaaally annoying bug

*2021-09-16*

I’ve used this app for like 6 years on and off now. I redownloaded it again recently and there’s a new bug that caused me to write this review:

Whenever I exit the app for maybe longer than a minute (whether it’s to run for a little bit, answer a phone call, etc), and then I return to the app, the deck that I was currently halfway through has disappeared and I’m back at the Home Screen of the app. All my progress is lost and it’s really hard to start a new deck because I don’t remember all the cards I had already completed. This is pretty frustrating when it happens twice during a workout.

Otherwise, this app has been one of my favorite workouts for a long time, but this one bug might make me delete it for good : /

### 2/5 — Bad shuffle

*2021-08-29*

This app is great, other than the fact that it clumps all the movements together. It doesn’t split them up well at all. If I wanted to do all my push-ups at once, I’d do a chipper.

### 2/5 — Not Random

*2021-02-23*

I swear there has to be someone messing with me on the other side of this app because 5 workouts in a row they saved the last 7 cards for diamonds and the first 15 cards were almost all spades.

### 3/5 — Agree, new version not as good

*2021-02-22*

Unfortunately the new version erased all of my data and my workout.

### 2/5 — New version not as good.

*2020-12-24*

This app is not too bad but when I recently updated I lost all my data. Also, the new bold text is ugly (just my option).

However, overall it’s a good app.

### 3/5 — Good but could improve

*2020-04-09*

For the most part this app is great.

Pros
- allows you to save all of your own custom workouts
- tells you the exercise at the top of each card
- tracks how long each card takes

Cons
- you can’t pause the workout for a break
- if you leave the app for any reason, your workout ends and you have to restart the entire deck
- if you end early, you can’t save your results (I have a limited amount of time to workout so I will often just do as many cards as I can)

Overall it gets the job done but not being able to pause or leave the app really puts a damper on using it.

### 4/5 — WOD Deck of Cards

*2019-11-26, version 1.5*

A great training App. It’s simple to use, and it allows me to customise each WOD to suit my training needs. It would be fantastic if users could change the amount of cards to use when creating a WOD, IE, decreasing the deck size, to speed up the workouts. However, I would still recommend this App👍👍

### 2/5 — I don’t want ads

*2018-12-06*

I don’t see an option to purchase a version without ads. Static ads were tolerable but video ads that will use more data, contain audio are a big reason to delete this app.

### 3/5 — Was great

*2018-01-23, version 1.4*

I loved this app and I used it all the time. Now with about 12 cards left the app keeps failing and I lose my place.

### 3/5 — Adequate

*2017-10-25*

I downloaded this app because my old deck of cards app, which I love, will not work with iOS 11 and does not appear to have an update in its future. I miss my old app, but this one does have some benefits.

Pros:
- You can save the workouts you really enjoy to repeat them later.
- You can see how long you spent performing the exercises for each suit. Great for measuring progress since you can save the rollups.

Cons:
- The card is tiny. Most of the screen is just blank space. Why not make the card take up the whole screen, with large numbers and suits, to be more easily seen arms length? I am constantly having to take a second look at the screen, it’s a little disruptive during my workout.
- The card is just a card, no rep numbers are displayed. Obviously this is no big deal for number cards, but if you have assigned a different number for each face card and the aces, you’ll have to remember what it is. I didn’t think this would bother me that much but I found that when I was in a rhythm, it threw me off a little to have a king show up and think “what’s a king again? Oh yeah, 25 reps.”

I found the two issues above to just be too disruptive to my rhythm during a workout, so I can’t rate this app more than three stars. It gets the job done, but I really miss my old app.

### 3/5 — Needs polishing

*2017-01-06*

For some reason I can't select any WOD I've created. You can only do the currently active WOD. Also, there should be a way to know how many reps of each exercise you do, depending on the value assigned to face cards and aces. Thirdly, it would be nice to see how long each card took to accomplish. (Statistics overhaul, basically). Good app, but needs some polishing.

### 2/5 — Needs fixes

*2016-11-15, version 1.3*

Loses its place when you switch apps in the middle of your workout, annoying!

### 3/5 — PLEASE UPDATE

*2016-03-06*

This is just what I was looking for, great idea but will not work with ios 9! Please update!

### 3/5 — Great app requiring an update

*2016-02-12*

As mentioned it needs to be updated for the new iOS.
It is a very useful app, please update guys.

### 1/5 — Doesn't work

*2016-01-09, version 1.3*

Doesn't work anymore. Won't let you switch between workouts. Don't waste your time.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Not random at all

*2021-03-28*

This workout app is great....if you want to do 100 reps of a workout in a row. This app does not feel randomized at all when working out. This is an example of a typical workout: The two jokers will be drawn very close to each other, usually within the first 10 cards. Then it’s heavy on one suit with one other suit sprinkled in (Spade, Spade, Spade, Diamond, Spade, Spade, Diamond, etc.). This continues until the last twenty cards which will be all of the other two suits (heart, heart, heart, heart, heart, clubs, clubs, clubs, clubs). Rinse and repeat for about 80% of the workouts on this app. Do yourself a favor and just buy an actual deck of cards.

### 1/5 — Update blows

*2020-11-18*

The updated version crashes, is clunky and a huge step down for the original.

It’s garbage but the only garbage available like it

### 1/5 — Horrible! Shuts off randomly!!

*2020-10-26*

I have used this app on and off for a while. Lately, the app crashes in the middle of workouts for no reason without saving progress!!!! Today, it shut down on the second to last card?!?&&$!!!&@

### 1/5 — Spying on users?

*2020-10-04, version 1.7.1*

UPD. IPhone reports that the app reads the copy-paste clipboard content on startup. I have no idea why the app needs to look into what I’ve copied into clipboard (there can be a sensitive info like passwords). Unfortunately I don’t feel safe launching this app any more.

### 1/5 — iOs 14 :/

*2020-09-20*

This was a great app until I updated to iOS 14. As I write this the app crashed twice before beginning my workout and once during my workout. Hopefully it’s updated again soon because it’s a 5 Star app when it works. I guess I’m improvising the rest of my workout this morning...

### 1/5 — Flawed

*2018-08-18*

This program would be fine but for one MAJOR flaw- it’s NOT random. The program is worse at ‘shuffling’ than a five year old with a sandwich in one hand. It regularly (as in nearly every workout) gives multiple sets of five or more of the same card/exercise. What is the point of a ‘random’ workout that can’t make it random???? Lazy/incompetent programming. Look elsewhere for a Deck workout.

### 1/5 — Not random

*2018-08-09, version 1.5*

Invariably the jokers come up in the first half of the deck

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2017-01-19, version 1.3*

Previous reviews were correct. App worked well but when adding personal WOD's they could not be retrieved.

### 1/5 — Was very good now poor

*2016-04-23, version 1.3*

Can't select your workout anymore

### 1/5 — Okay

*2016-03-16, version 1.3*

Well i had a lot of reasons this was 2 star instead of 1, but my thing was deleted because the name i chose was taken.

Short version:
-need to disable shake to undo if using iphone with music at the same.

-don't minimize the app ever or you may have to start your workout over

-and the app's timer goes at about the rate of 2 minutes per real minute.

Aside from that the app functions okay

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Perfect for mixing it up

*2020-10-01*

Used this for a couple of years now. Nice and simple to use and records your sessions.

Great stuff

### 5/5 — crashes

*2020-09-27*

Please fix it! It crashed after a few cards. (ios 14)

### 5/5 — Really nice App

*2020-05-15*

Simple and elegant.

Type in the name of each exercise for each card suit, and start your work out. A simple tap deals the next card.

You don’t have the option to omit jokers, so I just put “breathe” as the value for both of the jokers.

Once I completed my workout, I was pleasantly surprised to find that I get a precise breakdown of the length of time it took me to do each exercise on each card. It also records my total time for the work out, and saves it in my history.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2018-08-11*

I love the way it throws a string of the same suit together, just like a regular deck of cards. We keep pressing the next card feature till it flicks to a new suit and then get stuck in. Sorts the men out from the boys.

### 5/5 — So much better than other card apps!

*2016-04-29*

All you need is this for that workout. I have no complaints - it's just right!

### 5/5 — 5 stars

*2015-09-18*

I think apple screwed up this app because it was awesome a day ago, custom workouts etc but now I can't access the custom workouts and the screen goes blank. Smooth move apple!

### 5/5 — Great app-wonderful

*2015-04-13*

This app is great for workouts. I recommend it 100% I redownloaded this app and it's still the best. Love it.

### 5/5 — Perfect

*2015-02-02, version 1.3*

Exactly what I was looking for. Very easy to use

### 5/5 — Best Deck of Cards app EVER!!

*2014-06-11*

Awesome app! Very user friendly. I like that I get to write in whichever workout I want for each suit as opposed to being forced to plug in a workout. Also keeps track of how long it takes you to go through all the cards and how long it takes for each card separately. Some things to note: for beginners new to crossfit, this app doesn't have pre-selected workouts so you'll have trouble picking your workouts for each card. I'd like to request that with an update you have about 20-30 misc workouts for beginners. For those that are advanced, this app is awesome. One request though is to be able to change the color of the screen. I don't mind pink but sometimes my mood is green or yellow or red. It'd be cool to change the color scheme. Also, maybe add a buzzer to option. When I do my jokers I usually do a static hold or timed event like a sprint or plank or flutter kicks and it'd be cool to add the buzzer option to whichever workout. Awesome app. I look forward to the update.

### 5/5 — Amaing app

*2014-05-03*

Love this app really good for group or solo workout's. Can set & save workouts shows history of Workout's
