## What is WODrounds?

Interval timer for EMOM, For Time, Tabata and HIIT. No account, no sign-up. Just time, rounds and room to train.

EMOM runs 1 to 120 rounds with a round length between 0:30 and 9:30. Intervals is work, rest and rounds that you set yourself, so Tabata is 20/10 times 8 whenever you want it. For Time counts up from zero, you press Stop when you finish, and you can set a time cap if you want one.

Start on your iPhone and the watch shows the same time and the same round. You can also set up an EMOM or an interval session on the watch itself and leave the phone in your bag.

On iPhone Duo's inner display, on an iPad on its side and on an iPhone in landscape, the timer takes two columns, with the digits on one side, as large as the column allows, and the buttons on the other.

A voice calls get ready, halfway, ten seconds and rounds remaining at ten, five and two, and a 3-2-1 beep comes before every change. The numbers are big enough to read at a distance, everything works one-handed, and the timer keeps running when the screen goes dark.

One purchase covers iPhone, iPad, Apple Watch, Mac and Apple TV. No subscription, no ads and nothing to buy inside the app.

A timer for training. No logbook, no sharing and no account.

### 4/5 — Perfect for Solo, missing functions for group

*2026-09-28*

I really like the minimalistic concept of the app. A few clicks and you’re good to go.
Since I’m using it on speakers for group workouts, I’d really like to have a few more optional signals. Something like: “prepare” before the first set and a “3,2,1” before basically every change. Otherwise great app.

**Developer response:** Thank you, and good to hear it works for your group sessions. Both signals are there, but easy to miss on a speaker: a 10-second count-in before the first round, and a 3-2-1 beep before every change, work to rest and rest to work, since 1.3. The beep is a short system sound, so it gets lost next to music. That is the part of your review I'm looking at. Jarl

### 3/5 — Nice first try…

*2026-08-26*

The simplicity is there, but OMG I would change almost everything in the interface.

1. “Get Ready” need to go
2. Same with “You’re done”
3. 11 second (get ready timer) is fixed… how about a little customization for 0s, 2s, 5s, 10s so user can set what they prefer
4. Support Landscape mode where it can use the full screen better.
5. Show the seconds of the interval instead of just total time remaining based on calculated seconds from segment times and number of segments
6. Allow user to set duration for both minutes and seconds instead of only giving a plus/minus button for seconds adjustments.
7… many more, but only if the developer puts in these basics first.

**Developer response:** Thank you for the list. Two of your points have shipped since: from 1.8, Intervals counts down the work or rest period you are in, with the whole workout as a smaller line below it, and from 1.10, the iPhone runs in landscape, with the digits in one column and the buttons in the other. The 10-second count-in can be cancelled (since 1.4), but its length is still fixed, and the steppers still move in steps. Jarl

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 1.10 — 2026-10-22

WODrounds now fits iPhone Duo. On the inner display the timer takes two columns, with the digits on one side, as large as the column allows, and the buttons on the other. An iPad on its side gets the same layout, and so does the iPhone in landscape, which is new.

On Apple Watch, setting up a workout fits on one screen with no scrolling, down to the 40 mm watch.

New: Send feedback, in About. It opens an email with the app and system version filled in, and you see all of it before you send.

WODrounds now needs iOS 17 and watchOS 10 or later.

### 1.9 — 2026-09-20

Your Apple Watch now counts down the interval you are in when you follow a workout started on your iPhone. It showed the rounds but not the time, and the time is the number you need mid-interval. It also says whether you are working or resting.

Your setup is remembered between launches too: the mode you were in, and the rounds, work and rest you had set. The Watch has always done this. Now the phone, iPad, Mac and Apple TV do as well.

### 1.8 — 2026-09-08

Intervals now counts down the interval you are in, not the whole workout. Mid-round you can see exactly how much of the work or rest period is left, which is the number an interval timer exists to show.

A ring around the readout drains over the interval and refills at every change, lime while you work and grey while you rest, so you can read it from across the gym without focusing on the digits.

Work and Rest moved above the number, where they say what the number means. The whole-workout countdown is still there, under the round counter.

### 1.7 — 2026-08-09

WODrounds now speaks Danish and Spanish. Every screen, button and help text is translated on iPhone, iPad and Apple Watch. The spoken cues stay in English, because they are recorded voice files.

Those recordings are new this version. VoiceOver now reads the timer controls in your language, and Reduce Motion is respected.

### 1.6.1 — 2026-07-29

• Crash reports are now diagnostics only, with no screenshot attached.
• Small fixes and polish.
