## What is WODTap?

WODTap is a focused workout timer for iPhone and Apple Watch. Set up the format you want, start moving, and let clear visual, audio, and haptic cues keep every interval on track.

## App Store description

WODTap gives your workout a reliable rhythm without getting in the way.

Choose a timer for **Rounds for Time**, **AMRAP**, **EMOM**, or **Tabata**, or tap **Quick Start** for an untimed workout.
Build a **Composite** workout when your session needs multiple work and rest stages.
During the workout, a large round button counts your rounds without a look.
The current phase, round, and remaining time stay easy to read at a glance.

Use WODTap on its own or pair it with Apple Watch.
The Watch app runs a workout on its own or follows the one on your iPhone, with live heart rate and active calories.
The phone and Watch stay synchronized so you can keep your attention on the workout.
**Walk the Dog** on Apple Watch times an outdoor walk and saves it to Health with its distance and route.

When the session is finished, save a detailed record to your workout history.
Review rounds, elapsed time, notes, photos, heart rate with each round marked, calories, and time in each heart-rate zone.
Rate how hard the workout felt, from 1 to 10, and the rating is saved to Apple Health with the workout.
Add photos from the camera or photo library to capture the session.

## Version history (last 5 releases)

### 2.1 — 2026-10-16

**iPhone Duo**
WODTap now officially supports iPhone Duo!

**During the workout**
In AMRAP, and in Quick Start when taps count rounds, tap This round to show the round time on the large clock.
Tap it again to swap back.
WODTap keeps your choice for later workouts.

**Fixes**
The iPhone no longer goes to sleep between the stages of a Composite workout.
Apple Watch now shows the rest between Composite stages on the large clock, also after a stage that counts rounds.
Both Active and Total Calories are now saved with the activity

### 2.0 — 2026-10-04

**A new look**
WODTap has a new design in dark and light, with one lime color that marks the next thing to tap.
Numbers use a condensed style that stays steady as the time runs.
Settings now offers Auto, Light, and Dark in place of the older themes.

**During the workout**
A large round button fills the bottom of the screen, so you can hit it without looking.
The times of your last two rounds sit just above it.
To end a workout, hold End for one second; the button fills red as you hold.
Heart rate and calories from Apple Watch now show in large numbers.
Tabata and EMOM fill the screen with lime for work and blue for rest, with the time in a ring.
Tabata shows the current set as a timeline of work and rest, with a marker where you are.

**Before the workout**
The home screen puts Quick Start first and lets you repeat your last workout with one tap.
AMRAP has preset times in steps of five minutes, and Tabata and EMOM show the total time before you start.

**After the workout**
The summary shows your result first, then your heart rate with each round marked.
A new time-in-zones view shows how long you spent in each heart-rate zone, and the zone of each round.
Rate how hard a workout felt, from 1 to 10, on the watch or on the phone; the rating is saved to Health with the workout, as in the Workout app.
History groups your workouts by week and shows the days you trained this week.

**Apple Health**
On first launch, WODTap explains what Apple Health adds before it asks, and you can choose Not now.
You can connect Apple Health later from Settings, which also shows whether it is connected.

**Apple Watch**
The watch app and the complication use the new colors and numbers.
A running workout now has three pages, as in the Workout app: swipe right for Cancel and End, swipe left for music.
The workout page has no buttons, so the round, the time, and your vitals are larger.
The music page is the system Now Playing screen, with volume on the Digital Crown.
Tabata and EMOM on the watch use the full-screen work and rest colors with a ring.
Choose miles or kilometers for the distance on a walk, in Settings on iPhone.
Auto keeps following your region, as before.

### 1.2 — 2026-09-24

Watch App Update Only:

A new "Walk the Dog" start on Apple Watch times an outdoor walk and saves it to Health.
The watch shows the distance as you go, and the total when you finish.
The route is saved with the walk, so it shows on a map in the Health and Fitness apps.
The watch asks once for access to distance, routes, and your location during walks.

### 1.1 — 2026-09-22

**Quick Start**
Start an untimed workout from the top of the home screen with one tap.
A switch on the card picks whether taps count rounds or the timer just runs.
A Reset button on the running workout starts the time and rounds again from zero.

**Cleaner home screen**
History now lives next to Settings at the top of the screen.
The Start button stays pinned to the bottom of every setup screen while you scroll.

**Apple Watch**
The watch now shows the time left in the current work or rest segment for EMOM and Tabata, along with the segment and the round.
A new Mirror only option in Settings shows the workout on the watch without recording one there, so a workout already running in another app keeps going.
A workout started on the phone is now ended from the phone, so the two devices always agree.
The watch start screen is now called Quick Start.

**Fixes**
The EMOM round counter no longer shows a round past the total when the last round ends.
Heart rate from the watch now appears on the summary of a phone-driven workout.
The watch follows every workout after the phone app is relaunched.
