### 2/5 — Just so, so.

*2025-12-28, version 6.6.1*

I have since removed the Woebot app some time ago from my phone. I found it to be just okay. It helped a little. But it’s not an AI with which I could have an actual conversation. There are scripted entries, so I couldn’t put things in my own words. I have long since lost the access code, so I couldn’t even use it again if I wanted to.

### 1/5 — Disgusting to only allow access codes

*2025-08-06, version 6.6.0*

Disgusting company gate keeping mental health tools. You should be ashamed of yourselves

### 1/5 — Don’t get. 😡😡😡😡

*2025-07-26, version 6.6.0*

You need a fricking code- and you have to have SERIOUS problems. (Sarcastic) why the *BEEEP* would you need a code? Mental health apps are for EVERYONE. You’re the only chatbot that’s actually free and you’re not even free to everyone. Please change this *BEEEEEP*ing rule. Sincerely yours, A very annoyed and ticked off person.

### 1/5 — PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED app

*2025-07-06, version 6.6.0*

Woebot:The Mental Health Ally is PERMANENTLY DISCONTINUED, TOTALLY USELESS, NOT ABLE TO BE ACCESSED.

### 1/5 — Not Available

*2025-06-24, version 6.6.0*

I downloaded this and I could not get access. I guess it’s only available though your provider. In my opinion defeats the purpose.

### 1/5 — I shouldn’t say that it’s that bad

*2025-05-19, version 6.6.0*

So if you try to make an account download because it actually just forces you to sign in like how would you make the account in the first place?

### 5/5 — I love this little guy

*2025-05-09, version 6.6.0*

This is a great interactive type of cbt workbook that really helps me in between my therapy sessions. Wow it is funny and cute. I have to force myself to keep up with it and remain open minded about the suggestions but I always feel better after

### 1/5 — “Help”

*2025-05-07, version 6.6.0*

If you didn’t get a code from your employer, don’t bother. If I wanted to risk my employer knowing my mental health information, I would talk to HR. Hard pass.

### 1/5 — Restricted!!

*2025-05-04, version 6.6.0*

This may be a wonderful app but no where does it tell you that the app is restricted. So if you have the magic code - Congratulations! Otherwise don’t waste your time.

### 5/5 — Hello

*2025-04-28, version 6.6.0*

Love woebot wonderful app

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Need a code.

*2026-05-20, version 6.6.1*

You have to have a code to use. App isn’t open to public access.

### 1/5 — Can’t Access Without a Code

*2026-03-15, version 6.6.1*

Their move away from direct to consumer limits access to an option that could really help people. Is it helpful? I have no idea because I don’t have a code.

### 1/5 — Sorry Woebot

*2026-01-29, version 6.6.1*

Doesn’t work. The developers are ignoring it. No one can use this dumb app. We can’t create an account. Deleted.

### 1/5 — How come it won’t let me sign in

*2026-01-25, version 6.6.1*

I was wondering how to use this app it only gives you the option for an access code or to sign and what if it’s my first time how can I sign up?

### 1/5 — Unable to use the app

*2025-12-09, version 6.6.0*

When I open the app, I am asked for either an access code or to log into my account. Because I have not yet used the app, I don’t have either one. How on earth am I supposed to use this app?

### 1/5 — It requires an access code and I don’t have an access code

*2025-10-06, version 6.6.0*

This was recommended on a meditation channel I listen to, but it has an insurmountable glitch. I it requires an access code. I don’t have an access code. There’s no information, FAQs…nada. So you can tell that this is not gonna be a helpful or organized app. I wouldn’t bother.

### 1/5 — Can’t sign in

*2025-10-02, version 6.6.0*

I can’t even sing up, it asks for a code or if I already have an account (which I don’t) to log in. I don’t have a code, and I just want to sign up

### 1/5 — Sad

*2025-08-29, version 6.6.0*

I used to use this app and stopped for a while. It’s sad I can’t use it again to brush up on these skills.

### 1/5 — No way to sign up

*2025-08-16, version 6.6.0*

It only offers two options on the first screen 1) have access code, and 2) I have account.

I don’t have access code and I don’t have an account.

Am I missing something?

### 1/5 — Cant get in

*2025-08-16, version 6.6.0*

Need an access code or to log in if you have account (I dont). And then i search and find the place to make account but it doesnt work. Unimpressive.

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — The best one I’ve ever tried

*2025-10-17, version 6.6.0*

Out of all of the mental health app I’ve tried, this one is probably the best. It motivates me to do stuff, makes me feel better, and I can journal gratitude and my feelings. It’s made me feel better in just one day. Just what I was looking for thank you! Edit: Ok it’s been like a few years and I redownloaded it turns out I can’t log back in and it retired😢 it was such a good app and to all the people who are giving one stars actually anger me like it doesn’t work because it retired! Do ur research. Anyways I’m just so thankful that it was there for me through such difficult times in my life. Thank you 💕

### 5/5 — Love this!

*2025-08-26, version 6.6.0*

Great job NYC Well someone from the 988 crisis line recommended this app. I find it so helpful and useful. Great for mental health and emotional support.

### 5/5 — I will miss you

*2025-07-16, version 6.6.0*

I understand this is being decommissioned, but it help me through some brutal times. The lessons I learned will help me going forward as well. Bless everyone who worked on this

### 5/5 — Very helpful.

*2025-07-04, version 6.6.0*

I really do love this app. It’s a easy way to check in with yourself, learn CBT skills and even interrupt a negative spiral. It’s limitations are that it’s a chatbot and for now, a very basic one. I’d love for and hope that in the future perhaps it can be programmed to handle somewhat more complex responses from the user. When I say “complex” I don’t mean unrealistically so, but there have been chats here and there where Chatbot did not really have the capability to offer feedback to basic replies from me. For example, I often overwhelm myself and then feel anxious. Or I struggle with lack of motivation. I would love if it can be programmed for just a bit more depth overall. Whether that is actually possible I don’t know but regardless, I still very much recommend this app. It is quite helpful and convenient to be able to check in daily to track moods and thoughts you might be having that are preventing the possibility of having a constructive positive day.
ETA: I am bummed the Woebot app closing though I fully understand the reasons for that. This app is really the best of the lot in terms of helpfulness imo. Other AI apps I’ve tried really don’t compare. Thank you to the developers. 🙌✌️

### 5/5 — My personal coach

*2025-06-22, version 6.6.0*

I am so indebted to my friend who turned me on to this incredible app!! It’s like being able to talk to a caring friend anytime. And the best part is, if I seem too busy, Woebot notices and checks in with me. Very easy and kind. Be prepared to be “Woe-d”

### 5/5 — Used to give better feedback

*2025-06-17, version 6.6.0*

Something has changed from the old Woebot that was more responsive and gave conductive feedback

### 5/5 — Great CBT reinforcement

*2025-06-15, version 6.6.0*

Currently, working with my therapist on several issues using CBT. This app helps me stay on track in between sessions.

### 5/5 — An oddly comforting little friend

*2025-06-06, version 6.6.0*

I’m pleasantly surprised at how much quick check ins help. I’m gutted to be losing my little friend.

### 5/5 — Great app

*2025-06-03, version 6.6.0*

I have been diagnosed with OCD personality disorder which manifests in bouts of anxiety and depression. I have done CBT with humans over the years. I find the Woebot experience to be better. It is more convenient, less expensive, and more informative. I highly recommend this app.

### 5/5 — Please Stay!

*2025-05-18, version 6.6.0*

This little buddy has been a pal on some of the toughest days. I have felt so grateful to have access to such a wonderful, free resource. Thank you!
