### 2/5 — Equation balancer doesn't work

*2014-08-02*

I mainly got this app to balance equations quickly but when I tried to use this feature it failed to give me a response. It just showed "input interpretation" and nothing else . If anyone knows how to fix this please let me know.

### 2/5 — Not a Course Assistant

*2014-03-04*

Everything in this app you can just Google.

There is no chemistry theory in this app. There are no examples. There are no questions. There are no definitions.

All this app seems to offer is properties of specific and narrowly selected elements and compounds, and empirical data about some of the reactive and bonding between them.

Nothing in this app will help you understand any of the general principles of Chemistry.

### 2/5 — Not very useful

*2013-07-28*

Waste of $5. The interface isn't very intuitive. Considering this is just a modified interface for accessing wolfram alpha(or so it seems), it would be nice if it at least made things more accessible than within the regular wolfram alpha application.

I couldn't tell that it did anything that couldn't be done with the regular wolfram alpha app. It's just a skin for it with limited features available.

It wouldn't be too bad, but wolfram's chemistry capabilities aren't great. It has lots of information, but it doesn't do too great when you venture beyond surface level.

### 3/5 — Good for references

*2013-02-11*

It's pretty good but it's not that great for finding the products of a reaction especially redox reactions

### 3/5 — Pretty ok

*2012-09-02*

Since it's just a glorified reference material it would be nice if there was a button for a full screen periodic table on the home screen.

### 3/5 — Limited use for class

*2012-05-28*

This is a clever app designed by folks who have not taught chemistry. It does have a periodic table tucked away if you want to balance an equation. Probably most useful in lab report writing. Maybe too much to expect an app to teach strategies for solving chem problems. Serious disadvantage that you need to connect to the Wolfram server - Wolfram should know there are some places cell phones or tablet computers.

### 3/5 — Slow to load.

*2011-12-14, version 1.1.0*

Takes forever to load when you start it up. Just freezes. Poor work.

### 3/5 — Okay

*2011-07-14, version 1.0.0*

nice calculator but no actual reference material( ie. no periodic table)

### 2/5 — Eventually useless

*2011-05-27*

If you intend to use this tool as a practical assistant when solving chemical problems you may be disappointed that you cant use it at your exam! Unless you have internet there, that is. At least you should be aware that all utility of this app depends on connecting to wolframs servers.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Terrible App

*2016-12-27, version 1.2*

Just uses the Wolfram API and nothing else. Garbage app.

### 1/5 — Epic Fail!

*2016-08-07, version 1.2*

Simple calculations don't even work like plugging in numbers for Boyle's Law. Getting a refund!

### 1/5 — Not a good app

*2016-02-04*

I thought this app was going to be useful but it is not. The user interface is not great, and there is a lack of useful features. Ex: I couldn't find the option for this app to create Lewis structure of molecules. It only shows the electron configuration of single element. That is a joke! Also there is no option for predicting reactions which makes this app useless in my opinion.

### 1/5 — Not even mm conversion?

*2012-09-08*

Not worth the money at all, won't give you names of compounds or alkaloids, even some basic salts, it will not convert to mm, total waste of money and memory.

### 1/5 — No sirvee

*2012-08-08, version 1.1.0*

Porfavor!! Actulizen esta app pq deverdad esta bien porqueriaaaa! Porfavor arreglela porque no aparece el boton de “back”

### 1/5 — Beware!

*2012-02-11*

Cannot get this app to work on either my iphone or my ipad. I have tried uninstalling and reinstalling BOTH. There is no support that I can find for this app on their website. I wouldn't be as upset if they would only support their product.

### 1/5 — Disappointing

*2012-02-10, version 1.1.0*

The content in the app is good but the app itself keeps freezing... Wolfram this is promising app but needs some work to stop it from freezing upon launch

### 1/5 — Limited use

*2012-01-08*

This app really does not assist in any way. Chemistry is a pretty complex subject; there is little application for lewis dot structures or Chemical formulas. I wasted my money. This is surprising since the main Wolfram app is so useful.

### 1/5 — What's the point?

*2011-12-12*

Not what I thought it was going to be. It does not have quizzes or teach you how to do the problems, it just does them for you. Since I can't use my iPad during a test I found this to be waste of $5.

### 1/5 — Review

*2011-11-13, version 1.0.2*

This is really bad- an equation between sodium hydroxide and hydrochloric acid gave me nitrogen tetraoxide? Biggest waste if money and will not help kids learning chem

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Worth every cent for first year college chem

*2014-03-15*

No other chem app provides this much value for five bucks, period.

### 5/5 — high school student

*2013-12-05*

this app is very perfect for high school students.

### 5/5 — Just what I needed

*2013-10-10*

As others say, it is a calculation and info app. Will not teach you chemistry. If you need the former, like me, then this is the best 5 dollars you'll spend!

### 5/5 — Amazing

*2013-05-30*

Best chem app ever! Go get it!

### 5/5 — Must have

*2013-04-24*

This is the best app for your chemistry class !!!!

### 5/5 — Good Program

*2012-10-29*

I suspect the negative reviews are from people trying to take short cuts, i found this to be a very useful program, however you need to have basic understanding of chemistry to use it. I think it was well worth the money. I use to check my college chem homework. Once again it is NOT for short cuts. I need to understand what it is you are doing, and this programs allows you to check it. Kudos Wolfram

### 5/5 — Love it

*2012-04-06*

It's a lifesaver! My favorite app!

### 5/5 — User

*2012-02-01, version 1.1.0*

Great for learning!!

### 5/5 — This May Not Turn Lead Into Gold

*2011-05-13*

But it may do everything else ... looks as if this will be an essential addition to a student's collection of tools to master chemistry.

### 3/5 — This is a CALCULATION application

*2013-06-11*

I bought this expecting a tool to help me learn ap chemistry. The app is a great calculator to get homework done but offers little help as far as review and study are concerned. The app is useful for calculations, but now for learning.
