Also the limit activity should include a 3d plot and contour plot of the function to help students see the relationships between the plots and the limits. There are a lot of good features in this app, but it could definitely be improved. ### 2/5 — Confusing set up and doesn't show steps *2014-04-19* I bought this app to help with the final sections of my calc 3 class, since wolfram alpha seems to have a hard time understanding what I am trying to input. The entry slots are a little confusing especially on the divergence theorem. Also, I bought this app to help me understand the steps on how to solve for the answer and this product only gives the answer, which isn't very helpful considering the only thing I'm allowed to use on a test is my brain. Could be usefully for online homework but that is about all I would use it for. ### 2/5 — Well.... *2014-04-14, version 1.1.0* Not bad tbh but not very smooth and biggest downside is it doesn't have hyperbolic functions in integration and differentiation ### 3/5 — Good, but glitchy *2012-03-27* Overall, it's awesome that an app will do everything this one does. That said, it crashes a lot on the iPhone (better on the iPad). Also wish it would show steps for definite integrals (and derivatives). ### 3/5 — bugs *2012-03-05, version 1.0.2* really great content and potential. however , it crashes regularly on my iPad 2 and has a very buggy feel to it overall (very slow, screen may go black for several seconds, crashes, etc.) really good app though, just hoping this gets fixed. ### 3/5 — App is great, but glitchy *2012-02-10* I bought this app to help me with simple Calc 3 graphing and vectors etc. It really is a great app, but I wish it would plot simple points and vectors in 3-space. Instead you can only graph more complex equations. The app recently began to get glitchy on my iPad. I open it, and it won't let me select anything, it froze. I turned off my iPad and completely closed out of the app, and it still isn't working. But when I download it to my iPhone and tap on the app it freezes! It's a shame because it seems as though this app is very comprehensive. Oh well! Im going to report this to Apple again. ### 2/5 — Incredibly slow *2012-02-02* This app is so unbelievably slow on my iPhone 3G iOS4.2.1. It takes like a full 2 seconds between when I type a single symbol and when it shows up. Also, this app simply connects you to the wolfram server, so you still need an internet connection. Furthermore it does not always work with more advanced triple integrals. Secondly, it doesn't seem to let you use (cylindrical/spherical) polar coordinates - only Cartesian. If only I'd had this when I was an undergraduate/postgraduate. It's almost magic - where can I start? OK - let's take a *very* simple example - type in an equation - let's say 5x^2-4x+5=0 and ask it to solve it - of course, it can do it (and with arbitrary precision) but then ask it to explain how it solved it - and it gives you a step-by-step explanation. 3D or 2D plots - surface or contour - no problem. Differentiation - integration - yes, triple integrals - oh, I have fallen in love with this app. Try to 'trick' it by typing in an equation with imaginary roots - of course, no problem.
