### 1/5 — Disappointed

*2013-10-03*

This app doesn't present any dynamic functions of the topics shown on the example screen. Very limited and useless for the advanced statistics student. I expect a much better tool from Wolfram. This is a waste of money.

### 1/5 — Very disappointed

*2013-03-01, version 1.0.2*

What kind of stats app can't handle 20 numbers when calculating standard deviation. I have deleted this app and want my money back. Utterly woeful.

### 1/5 — Willyy

*2012-05-12, version 1.0.2*

Pile of rubbish do not buy. Only really covers a bit of probability. Nothing like t test or anova or any application of stats to interpret data is covered. I want my money back.

### 2/5 — Poor Performance!

*2012-02-22*

Despite the claims, this app will time out when provided with a relatively short data list for computation.
I am very surprised at the poor performance of this product given its pedigree.

### 1/5 — Wolfram Alfa Statitics

*2012-02-10, version 1.0.2*

Have just purchased this and I won't work. Tried reloading it but still no success. Looks like I have just wasted £1.49. How do I get my money back?

### 1/5 — just awful

*2011-12-21, version 1.0.2*

Like most Wolfram products this app is very pretty but totally useless. It doesn't even work if you aren't online. This is just a thin interface to their Alpha site. Need to calculate a few random integers? Want to plot a few points on a bar graph or histogram? Need to find the standard deviation or variance of a few numbers? Do you want to know the average of some numbers? Do you want to generate a random number? This app will do all that after it submits your request online followed by a long delay before giving you an answer that you could have just as easily and more quickly computed with a pencil and paper. Sometimes It would time-out just waiting for the average of a numbers.

If you need assistance in your statistics course to calculate the average of some numbers or to plot a few points as a bar chart then you you need a lot more help than this app can offer. Do you really need a $5 stats assistant to calculate the standard deviation of a handful of numbers? Sadly, you would still be disappointed with this assistant.

This app won't teach you statistics. This isn't a statistics reference that you can use to review topics. This won't help you understand statistical methods. This isn't a stats oriented calculator that you can use to crunch numbers... I don't know what this is good for.

Wolfram is turning into a huge disappointment with these apps that just repackage the web interface to their Alpha engine. If you want to be disappointed in AI then just go to their web site to use their Alpha engine. It's free and just as useless. If they are trying to build familiarity and loyalty for their tools then they aren't going to achieve that by charging $5 for the same tool under different names.

### 1/5 — Too fiddly.

*2011-12-16, version 1.0.2*

The data entry is horrible, requiring exact matches to the format or the app deletes everything you've just spent 10 minutes typing in. This app needs far more work to be value for money. At the very least maintaining what you've previously entered when it doesn't match the format would enable one to go back and correct the work. Quite disappointed.

### 1/5 — Garbage!

*2011-11-20, version 1.0.2*

It only got several distributions, doesn't even have Pareto, Weibull ect

### 1/5 — Meh

*2011-10-14*

All of these things are pretty much accessible via the standard wolfram alpha app and web interface - an undoubtedly amazing resource.

Necessary updates before this app is the slightest bit useful:

-numpad input with large numbers
-save data sets

### 1/5 — Terrible app

*2011-08-30*

This app is a ***terrible*** tool for a statistics class. The interface is not user friendly and it is painfully difficult to input data. There is also no way to compare across data sets once each set is entered - you have to start all over again. Most of the tools such as those for probability and data relationships, will never be of use to a real student in a class...the tools that we actually need, like for ANOVA, are not included.

Save your money and do NOT purchase this app.

### 1/5 — Blackdroid97

*2011-07-20, version 1.0.0*

Waste of 2 bucks wasn't what i thought

### 2/5 — Limited

*2011-07-06*

Very limited and basic, absolutely insufficient.

## Most critical reviews (10 lowest-rated)

### 1/5 — Poor

*2020-05-19, version 1.3.1*

Very little explanation & just cobbled together snippets of topics. Waste of my money

### 1/5 — Not worth paying for

*2016-10-09*

Very limited functionality. Not worth paying for.

Math teacher

### 1/5 — Data edit

*2016-08-30*

I too was disappointed.

I had expected to be able to enter data once and make all various calcs.

But I can't edit data, it's not useful. The stats registers on my 30 yr old calculator far far better.

With Wolfram I was expecting a tool that was useful.

May I get my $2 back? Please?

### 1/5 — Don't waste your money

*2015-09-30, version 1.2*

This app BARELY skims the surface of a statistics course. That and the keyboard for inputting data is a pain.

### 1/5 — Was expecting much more

*2015-06-04, version 1.2*

There is so little information. For example, they only have two statistical distributions

### 1/5 — Does not run

*2015-04-13, version 1.2*

I would like my $ back. This app does not run.

### 1/5 — Useless

*2015-02-18, version 1.2*

Save your money

### 1/5 — Waste!!!!

*2014-10-02*

Well what is the probability of disappointment of this app.. 100% with a complement of zero % chance of successful satisfied customers.

### 1/5 — Waste of my money

*2013-10-28, version 1.1.0*

Horrible. Not helpful at all.

### 1/5 — Wasted my money and feel ripped off

*2013-10-24*

Did not include any deviation from or higher function of stat II I would expect. Avoid like the bubonic plague!

## Most praised reviews (10 highest-rated)

### 5/5 — Awesome App!

*2013-09-20*

This is one of the best statistic apps I found for college statistics. It's perfect!

### 5/5 — Worth It's Weight in Gold

*2011-05-27*

If it can help me win at poker, or figure my life expectancy, or determine the quickest route to happiness or even help me pass Statistics.

### 4/5 — Pretty good app

*2011-07-03*

I would like to see combination and permutation calculations added. It would be cool if you could enter data from a chart, maybe a 3x3 or configurable rows & columns, and figure out the probability. I don't believe I saw a z-score calculator but that would be nice too.

### 3/5 — Useful but limited

*2013-10-29*

This app computes several basic statistics for selected distributions such as the normal and binomial. Basic descriptive statistics are also computed for arbitrary data sets input by the user. Bar charts, histograms, and scatterplots are produced and displayed.
The app's best feature is the calculation of probabilities for several distributions.
The limitations are serious but not disabling. Graphing and descriptive statistics are limited by the fact that data entry is strictly manual, one data point at a time. This means that only small data sets are practical to use.
The worst limitation is that there is no means to save or print the results. So a student using the app for homework must copy the output by hand. This is not an issue for numerical output such as a mean or a probability, but it is a big issue for the plots.
The best feature of the app and the main reason I would recommend the app to my statistics students is the probability calculations, which allow the student to avoid using tables.

### 3/5 — Eh?

*2012-01-25*

On the number randomizer you need to have an option to not have repeating numbers

### 3/5 — Some good stuff

*2011-10-28*

Needs more distributions. Only 1 form of Gamma distribution.

### 3/5 — Disappointed

*2011-05-28*

I expected so much more from Wolfram. StatViz is a much more intuitive and comprehensive program. Where are the confidence intervals, hypothesis tests or ANOVA. The distributions are sparse. I can only hope that updates will be free and add much more functionality. This project seems like it was rushed out the door.

### 2/5 — Very basic

*2013-12-26*

I expected a much more interactive experience. Most of the distributions included only have formulas for mean, standard deviation, etc. which I could have easily looked up on my own. Not worth the purchase in my opinion

### 2/5 — Shallow, unstable

*2012-04-13, version 1.0.2*

Statistical data limited in scope, lacks customization ability. Very limited probabilities. Frequently crashes, or refuses to compute. Interface is very clean.

### 2/5 — Wasted my money

*2012-03-19*

This is a great tool for learning the very basics of statistics but no value for the price of the App. Much of what they have is basic info you can get for free using Google!

Will not do custom probabilities, permutations, and many other things that you will need for Statistics 101 or Stats for Business so buyer beware!
