Now I can’t turn my heating on and off as I please instead I have to set a schedule. I don’t typically want or need schedules but now you’re making me work very hard to manage my heating which means the app isn’t useful anymore. I also can’t add a second thermostat. Overall pretty poor experience. ### 1/5 — Awful update with terrible UI/UX *2025-04-06, version 4.16.5* Unnecessary app update that now makes it impossible to turn off thermostats, without setting the temperature ridiculously low or activating “summer mode”. To even access the thermostat, you need to click through 3 or 4 screens to get to the page that doesn’t work. There are also several buttons/links that don’t seem to do anything e.g. on thermostat link “tap for more details” takes you to the same screen - why does this link even exist. The app makes it incredibly difficult to use our smart home appliances and I wish they would revert the pointless design updates. Terrible user experience that I have no choice but to engage with. ### 5/5 — New app *2025-04-05, version 4.16.5* Amazing new app big improvement. ### 1/5 — Strange *2025-03-13, version 1.5.2* I have spent over an hour trying to add a device, there’s no option to add one even though all the videos say so. They could ask to tap + and there will be no +. Anything this hard to set up is a waste, and I am more tech savvy than most people. ### 5/5 — Easy to use & responsive *2022-10-10, version 1.0.128* Loads up easily on my iPhone and once you’ve set up your account it responds straight away. Easy enough to navigate through the app and no problems setting up or using it. ### 4/5 — Smart controls that reduce energy bills *2022-10-10, version 1.0.128* You need to have an Amazon account to use the system. The technical support team had to help me set everything up but I can now control every individual heater and light in my home from one app. The best thing about Wondrwall is how it saves money by charging the battery in my home with free solar power or off-peak electricity. I’m looking forward to seeing my energy bills come down at a time when prices are all going up. ### 1/5 — Terrible App and software *2022-10-06, version 1.0.128* Avoid this system at all costs. The alarm goes off for no reason and often in the middle of the night despite being disarmed. Technical support isn’t great either. On 6 occasions this week the alarm which I disarmed due to it bugging out has gone off. To make matters worse it is very slow to respond to mobile app commands. The remote you’re given to disarm the alarm doesn’t work either. The entire system is a shambles. ### 1/5 — You’ve made a mistake! *2022-09-04, version 1.0.128* If you have bought Wondrwall return it immidialty. If your a developer thinking of installing it in your property, don’t! The app is buggy, they system slow to respond, the implementation of it incredibly bad, the technology outdated. For example, who designs a product (the light switch) that also functions as the room temperature sensor that can be used to control the heating. But whenever you turn on a light the switch warms up maybe 5-10C and when you turn a light off it cools back down. This totally messes up any type of heating control you try and implement. It’s not fit for purpose and wondrwall’s response to my question about this was, install a separate thermostat 🤬 The eco system used for communication is Zigbee, this is an open protocol, however they have locked it down so as soon as they go bust (and they will because all the products they sell are inferior and defective in one way or another) your whole home control will no longer function and there will be nothing you can do but rip it out. Save yourself the hassle and install someone like Aqara, it’s cheeper, open protocol, works with home assistant and is still actively under development. Wondrwall doesn't work with home assistant, this is a huge missed opportunity. It doesn't work with apple home kit, or google home, the only assistant it kind of works with is Alexa but it’s buggy and a pain. The setup process to add each device takes around 10 mins, you can only add one at a time, if you look at the device funny it will fail to pair and you have to start again. If you wish to make any modifications to the device such as the name, well you have to delete it and pair it again, then set up any automations you have. To add 6 devises in Aqara your looking at about 3 mins of work, with Wondrwall it’s over an hour. I can’t stress how poor this system is, the hardware is not a finished product and the software feels like an early Alpha release that had no budget and no feedback on its functionality. An example of this, if you make a schedule for heating and you make a mistake by setting the start and stop times that clash with another schedule on the same device (yes it’s somehow possible to overlap commands) well the device will randomly flick between on and off, and in the schedule manager you can’t click on the overlapping time slots to delete the one you want as it’s represented graphically on a timeline. So your only options are to delete the device entirely and add it to the system again or call tech support where they manually have to modify the conflict. The capacitive touch functionality is absolutely rubbish for the switches, on the same device the lightest finger stroke will turn on one of your lights, to get the other light to turn on your effectively slapping it like Will Smith slapping Chris Rock. I’ve been living with this appalling system for 6 months, I’m tech savvy and even I struggle to get it functioning, I’ve also effectively become tech support for the whole building when it comes to Wondrwall. Don’t do it, don’t buy, don’t implant, don’t use. It’s a really bad product. ### 1/5 — Cape application *2022-07-20, version 1.0.128* I guess the company is now out of fund and the application has stopped either debugging nor developing.
