WoodPicker is a tool to simplify a woodworking project. You can use it to speed up the design, wood selection, and cutting steps of the project. Getting started on a woodworking plan is hard to do. Once you’ve painstakingly detailed a design, you need to select the best pieces of lumber to fulfill all the parts in the project and somehow keep track of each one. It’s not uncommon to spend hours at the lumberyard trying to figure out how to efficiently place the parts for your project on the best available picks of wood. WoodPicker is designed to greatly improve the experience of choosing lumber at the lumberyard so you can cut it into parts with minimal waste. Well, that was a wate of time! I’m interested the sketch up integration but can’t even think how well that would work, and I’m pretty sure given my experience thus far…it is not even possible to test unless I shell out $9.99. Nice try but need significant t work for UI/UX. And, if you want people to try before buy, then you need to actually ‘allow’ that! ### 1/5 — Hard to figure out how to use *2022-01-12* This app has a good concept of calculating cut pieces. However, I would have liked some time to determine if this app would be a benefit to my projects before payment for pro version is requested. I can’t pay for something if can’t determine if this app is easy to use and suites my purposes. It could have allowed me to experiment by creating one of my whole projects, not just a piece of it. ### 1/5 — Scam *2021-01-29* It will not let u make your own design without spending money!! **Developer response:** I'm sorry you feel this way, but you are mistaken. From the home screen, you can click on New Project. Then click on Generate. This will allow you to generate a small project to trial the user interface. For larger projects, you do have to purchase the WoodPicker Pro in-app purchase. This is clearly stated in the app description. Once you purchase WoodPicker Pro, all project plans are free, or you can upload your own designs. I do not understand why you consider this a scam. I am not aware of any hardware store that allows you to walk home with a tool for free. Hundreds of hours have gone into this app to make it a tool to save the user considerable time in the selection and layout of parts on the selected lumber. So, I cannot give my work away. I hope you can understand that. If you don't want to purchase WoodPicker Pro, then there are a number of project plans you can purchase that also allows you to take advantage of the features of this app. There is also a free project plan to try out the app. ### 4/5 — Decent App, some missing features *2020-10-05* App does a good job of laying out boards for cutting.
