It hangs between levels, and you have to exit the app and re-enter to keep going. Sometimes in the middle of a game, the blank checkerboard comes up, sits there, then crashes out of the app. You can re-start and confirm that it crashed without losing your points, but talk about frustrating!! Does anybody who writes this code actually try to play this game? I've never seen a game with so many bugs.
