### 4/5 — Nice twist on a word game

*2015-07-15, version 1.5*

Scoring is a bit of work and there's no auto calculate till you do a final submit, so I don't pay much attention to that. Otherwise it's fun.

### 5/5 — Excellent

*2014-03-28, version 1.4.7*

Been truly addicted to this since I downloaded it. Considering number of players surprised they are not more excellent reviews. Only slight negative is sometimes with inconsistency with tile distribution as sometimes could end Up with 8 vowel and nowhere to place, but apart from that minor quibble doesn't mar an overall enjoyable experience. On at least an hour a day since i purchased it. Best .59 I have spent in a long while.

### 5/5 — This is a great game

*2013-10-24, version 1.4.4*

I really like it because it challenges the brain. Sometimes playing the mega word you have in your deck won't give you as many points as playing a smaller three letter word. You have to be on your toes!

### 4/5 — What happened?

*2013-09-26*

I have a 4S and updated and now I don't get the whole screen! :( very disappointed. I love this game. Please fix or let us installed the previous version.
UPDATE: just installed update that says it fixes the missing top rows and it didn't fix it! PLEASE PLEASE fix! I love this game and can not play it! PLUS I paid for it!

### 5/5 — Word color

*2013-09-21, version 1.4.3*

Fantastic. Love it great game

### 4/5 — Need some tracking

*2013-07-17*

Overall play good but no way to track your play against others

### 5/5 — LOVE!

*2013-05-11*

I absolutely love this game. There is such a different strategy than words with friends, scrabble, etc. The color bonus adds a neat twist. In general, players are quick to respond so there is very little wait time between turns. The only caveat is that the dictionary is quite liberal, but then again that is an advantage to both players.

### 5/5 — Great game

*2013-01-05, version 1.3*

Awesome game!!! I love it!!! Just love Interacting with others on this game!

### 5/5 — Great Game

*2012-12-23*

Scrabble or WWF with an awesome twist. Love how the game can can change in an instant! An entirely different challenge and playing defense in this game is of utmost importance! A new strategy w the colors. Love it. Great players. No "cheat apps" made for it so it is honest and real. Recommend to all word geeks!!!

### 1/5 — Can’t make an account

*2025-10-07, version 3.32*

Tried to make an account but the app won’t allow you to. The app was last updated 2 years ago.

### 1/5 — DancingQueen

*2019-10-21, version 2.72*

Haven’t been able to open game for days as I’m in the UK, dont get to play in The short time it’s available, not good enough may not even bother going back.

### 1/5 — Riddled with non-words

*2014-10-26*

HORRIBLE dictionary. I prefer to play a game where people use their brains to come up with words they know. This game seems to encourage players to keep trying any combination of letters til they come up with a word that gets accepted. It allows so many ridiculous non-words and it's very frustrating to have an opponent score huge points for playing "gare," "gif," "zau," "zo," or "io" It would never occur to me to even ATTEMPT to place those tiles because they are not words. The examples of crazy non-words is seemingly endless.

If you care about words, don't get this game or you'll pull all your hair out and end up looking weird.

Oh, and you are invited to play with strangers CONSTANTLY - unbidden. The worst part of that is that when you declined the game you get another request from that person, then you decline that one and it starts a game with you and that person even though you repeatedly declined.

### 1/5 — Was my favorite game!

*2013-09-25, version 1.4.3*

This last update 9-22 is terrible. The screen is too large, the entire screen is not visible. It isn't good at all. I have written the developer twice, no fix yet

### 3/5 — Same issues

*2013-09-27, version 1.4.3*

I love this game and use to play it all the time. Since the latest "upgrade" I can't see the whole board :(

### 3/5 — Word colors.

*2013-06-02, version 1.3*

Enjoyable. Would be better with getting SC when played off of.

### 3/5 — Review

*2013-02-14, version 1.3*

I love it. However, I do wish as we p,aced tiles it told us if it was a word like Abble Dabble does. My friends are giving up on it because it doesn't have that feature.

### 3/5 — WWF, Status: Replaced!

*2012-01-03*

Update #4: Still a great word game....(unfortunately, losing another star)

Dictionary errors were an annoyance. App has been out long enough now, they're just ridiculous.

Abbreviations (e.g. St), proper nouns (e.g. Jews), and non-words (e.g. "ouk") STILL being accepted as words (and there's a LONG list of more!); yet ACTUAL words (e.g. ono) aren't...really?!?

Emojis for everyone on iOS5 display incorrectly. THOUGHT issue would be fixed in last update as it was well known prior to update release...it wasn't...and that was over 2 months ago.

For 3rd time to suggest a solution: 🙏PLEASE🙏 switch to using a STANDARD dictionary (e.g. ENABLE, SOWPODS). It enhances (NOT restricts!!) gameplay, as it sets a clear set of rules as to what words are/aren't acceptable plays. ENHANCE it (as most similar type apps do) with additional WORDS (not abbreviations!) not included in standard version which are now accepted as common vernacular (e.g. blog, sexting). It makes game play SO MUCH smoother and enjoyable. Invalid words resulting in plays has gotten REALLY old, really FAST! 😞

Additional suggestions:
•Ability to turn off ALL sounds in game (turning down volume/vibrate not acceptable solution, especially when coming back to play again so often).
•Clearer display of word and point value at end of each turn (difficult to see when board fills up; points also obscure parts of letters making differentiating between a c, f, p near impossible.)
•"x" in text-input bubble in chat window needs to be removed; WAY to easy to unintentionally hit it (=happens WAY too often). Not to mention, it's unnecessary as it's a function we already have at our disposal ("select all" highlights all text, backspace deletes everything).

Overall:WELL DONE! Creative idea has mixed 2 great games (UNO & Scrabble/WWF), making both better with spectacular execution & development. s off to Devs!

### 4/5 — Elementary app with limited features to offer

*2025-05-26*

I’ve played this game for years, but the app is old and doesn’t offer much. I don’t like that you can’t block the ability for another player to message you or to be matched with new games from random players. I really don’t want new games because I don’t have time and I have to decline them from random strangers and they’ll cuss me out for declining their games they start with me.

### 4/5 — Good game.....but

*2015-09-12*

Word Colors is another good word game with enough to set it apart to make it fun and a worthy addition to any "Wordies" collection. That said, it has two flaws which might be to much for some players. One is the inclusion of the YAWL dictionary as a reference. Calling YAWL a dictionary is stretching the truth. It's more of a list of acceptable letter combinations that can be used. Many of them simply aren't words in any other format. "NY" might warm a Yankee fan's heart, but it is hardly a word. The second issue is that, since the bonus for consecutive letters of one color stays active, the letter "S" is extremely powerful almost to the point of being a "broken" letter. Crappy spellers need merely hoard "S"s to stay in the game. Not a game breaker, but annoying. All in all Word Colors is a fun diversion for wordies. Just throw out some of your old strategy and most of your vocabulary.
