It’s a huge turn off and as a result I won’t be playing as much nor will I play games for money anymore. I would rate it 5 stars if they didn’t do this constantly. Probably because those other games are easier to control who wins where as this one, the way its setup is much harder to control outcome. Some other user said they start giving bad cards but I mean both players get the same cards and you could see playback of opponent’s gameplay. So still fair. One: you aren’t playing real players a lot of the time so they can make your AI opponents score above yours at any point. Or two: if you start making money they start giving you really crappy letters the next 6-10 times you play. When I first started playing I was winning almost every game (this is how they get you hooked), then they started giving me letters there was almost no way I could spell any decent word and earn points with. I’ve been dealt a lot of O, O, Y, E, I, Q letters the past 6 or 7 games. And as I play those hard to play letters, I just keep getting more. Rigged. Dont deposit money unless you can afford to lose it all on this rigged game. ### 1/5 — Intentional deception by the company *2024-08-01* Aside from rampant cheating which is pretty much unstoppable, this game is fun. I was looking to find an alternative to the discontinued Words with Friends lightning round which was my favorite game. My huge concern is the $15 instant game popup which appears randomly on the bottom of the screen and is so easily accidentally pressed. I’ve hit it many times and all of a sudden am playing a game I was ready for and didn’t want. It is an unlimited words game which is not the norm so if you do try and play you’ll suddenly realize you can’t take your time and by then it’s too late and you’ve lost your game and a big chunk of money. This is clearly an underhanded and intentional deception by the company and its programmers to prey on people so they accidentally start a very expensive game. I contacted Skillz and they refunded me for one $15 game. They stated “ Rest assured that this feedback will be forwarded to our dedicated team for review.” Well I deleted the game and was never going to play again. Unfortunately my ADHD brain couldn’t resist so I just started playing again and lo and behold I accidentally hit the $15 game popup and lost half my balance. I’m not going to contact the company for a refund this time that will not be justice and won’t help others. I told them originally I’m going to make it my life’s mission to use every resource I can (social media, BBB, attorney general etc.) until this intentional scamming stops. If your score on the previous game was low, you’re going to lose without even playing the match. If the game score on the previous game was high, you will win by an unfair win to the player you were up against! I’ve lost too many matches due to this glitch. I get the run around by admin. They say, update….do a hard delete…but I have done these things to no avail!
